My parents are Salvadorian, so when i want to take them to eat i always take them to a Salvadorian restaurant. In the bay area it is hard to find a good Salvadorian restaurant. La Paz restaurant is a good traditional restaurant. I strongly recomend "pupusas". they have parking and good service.

.

The location and decor leave much to be desired, but the people and the food are amazing . . . start with an order or two of the pupusas and move on to the main courses.

They offer both traditional Mexican meals as well as authentic Salvadorean plates. The "chicken in red sauce," loosely translated, is my favorite but the chimichanga is also amazing and will feed you for approximately three days.

P.S. the jukebox is a mix of some 80s, some bad country, and some great Latin American music. Give it a few coins and you'll at leasat have something to talk about at the table.
