.

I drove out to Acton from L.A., to survey some properties out there. Decided to check out the town first and eat at the 49er, seeing that it was an icon of the town.

I am a well-groomed, well dressed male of East Indian origin and was refused service. The place was almost empty at that time, with only a half dozen tables occupied.

The *two* waitresses treated me like I was invisible. Never even brought me a menu, making a point to not even look at me. Then they went out of their way to bring menus and drinks to the 3-4 patrons who came in after me - before they even sat down! To add insult to injury, those other patrons sat at the tables right next to me.

Guess they wanted me to get the message. Well, it was received loud and clear.

They should just hoist up a sign outside that says "WHITES ONLY" and save the rest of us the hassle.

After 30 mins of this rude spectacle, I left thoroughly disgusted.

I'm hardly one to cry racism, even at the rare times it happens to me. But when a business goes out of its way to be in my face about it, that's when I get vocal.

If you believe in fair play for all, do NOT patronize this cesspool.

You want a nice place to have a good steak, this is it. They have good burgers and my favorite, the chicken picatta. They have karaoke every Friday night at 9:00pm and during the Summer every other Saturday night outside under the stars at 7:30pm. So come on down. They have a full bar and nice people working there.

So it's a bit out of the way, on Crown Valley Road (off I-14 south of Palmdale) in Acton. But it's nice and relaxed. Hang out and have a couple drinks and a burger, or a drink and a couple burgers, and see who shows up.
