I hated my hair until I met Marlon Ramos eight year ago, now I am constantly getting compliments on my cut and color. Marlon in a genius, not to mention meticulous, professional, and unwaveringly invested in the outcome of every haircut, color, or treatment that he gives every client, every time. He gives each client his undivided attention. I used to have short hair because it wasn't in good enough condition to grow long, but now, after much care and Marlon, it is long and pretty. Marlon describes my hair as "unique", which is his diplomatic and kind way of saying it is a dry, frizzy mess - but you wouldn't know it. The cut is brilliant, the color is so rich and flattering, and the straightening treatments that he is an expert at, have transformed my hair. I used to hate my hair and now it is one of my better attributes. I used to do the Japanese thermal reconditioning with Marlon and loved it - it made my life so much easier. But most recently Marlon did the Brazilian Keratin Treatment on me and I think I'll stick with that - it works better on my "unique" (crazy) hair. When I moved to Santa Barbara, my husband even asked what was I going to do without Marlon. Well, after three different stylists here, I gave up and don't let anyone besides Marlon do anything to my hair except cover my roots. No cuts or highlights for me down here. I drive to San Francisco to visit my fairy hair angle. Marlon focuses on me the entire time making sure that he doesn't let anything process longer than it needs to. So now my hair is growing back. I highly recommend Marlon. He is a miracle worker- I promise.

I just had my haircut with Marlon Ramos and I loved it! He had me booked for a blowout, but he gladly took me for a haircut I badly needed. It was my first time with him and I felt like I was a client for years. The staff was extremely friendly and the consultation and cut I received from Marlon was top notch. Marlon even took the time to teach me the best way to care for my new cut. It was so refreshing to go to someone with a high end quality, but without the snotty, high maintenance staff! I would highly recommend Marlon Ramos!

I first saw Marlon Ramos in Allure magazine under best hairstylist, so I gave it a try. At that time I was expecting my first baby and needed a change. I came out of the salon with a beautiful haircut and a new look. I have recommended friends and family and they are hooked!! Marlon Ramos is truly talented.

I moved to San Francisco in February and had tried several "prestige" salons to cut and style and color my very straight hair and was asking myself why I felt disappointed after laying down top dollar for mediocre services. Then I found Marlon Ramos!

First, he is both a precision haircutter and a talented colorist, and it's hard to find both in one professional.

Second, Marlon is fast. I've had experiences where I had to sit for what seemed hours to get a less than perfect haircut. Marlon has true talent.

Third, he listens and remembers. On my second visit, I did not find myself telling my hair "story" all over again. Marlon remembered!

Fourth, Marlon is a genuinely fine person. No BS. No prima donna attitude. He's a serious, no-nonsense hairstylist who also makes you feel welcomed and important.

I love Marlon Ramos!

I found Marlon Ramos on the Internet about 2 months ago by doing an extensive google search for a great hairdresser. I am happy to say that I found one that superseded my expectations.

I truly walked into his salon the first time looking like the offspring of Don KIng. I had been perming and coloring my hair on a regular basis for over 20 years. It was dry, discolored, frizzy and dead. I I had made peace with probably having to cut my hair short and start over before i made the appointment with Marlon.

Marlon has given me beautiful, shiny, color corrected hair (with highlights) something that I never expected to have with the condition that my hair was in.

He is truly an artist. he has an eye for color, style (according to bone/facial structure. He truly took 10-15 years off of my looks. We in S.F. are so lucky to have him, with his talent and eye for beauty.Marlon should be in L.A. working on celebrities. He is kind, patient, listens to the client and is a true perfectionist and artist. He is worth every penny and then some. His Brazilian Keratin treatment actually allowed me to keep my long hair. It has NEVER been in healthy and beautiful. I am constantly being complimented on my hair since Marlom began working on it. I have been to Yosh, Vidal Sassoon (in the 80's) and nothing compared to what he is able to do with hair.

Marlon has been my hair stylist now for over ten years. Yes, I'm filled with nothing but, great things to say about this guy because, he just knows hair. Marlon has always steered me in the right direction with cuts and color, may I say "a genius" when it comes to color...I'm 35 yrs old & all Grey for yrs. First I must say Marlon is so warm, personable, and funny to work with. He will make you laugh while working on your hair time will just fly by.

Now about the treatment which I now refer to as sanity saver. My hair is straight in parts while curly in others. Not to mention it is fine but there is a lot of it so it looks thick. This has been a life saver because now I can actually manage my hair. it is completely straight out of the shower all I have to do is wash, comb and go. If I wanted to blow dry it I could but it's not required. Secondly it finally looks healthy and there is no more frizz. It looks polished every day. I would recommend this to everyone especially if you are hair impaired like I am.

As a special gift my husband did some research online to find me the best hairstylist available and booked an appointment with Marlon. I was a little apprehensive, but after a few visits for straightening, cut, color and highlighting, women have literally stopped me in the street to compliment my hair. As a bonus, it was less expensive than some previous hair services at other stylists.

I have been getting thermal treatments from Marlon for about 4 years. It was great. But. My hair dried out - the heat and the chemicals, you know? Two weeks ago, Marlon said try this - Brazillian Treatment. No chemicals. No heat. My hair is so soft, so rich, so smooth, so pretty. Color? Rich, deep looking. Marlon is a master of the cut. He is a master of color - beyond belief. And now, the Brazillian Keratin treatment? Too wonderful for words. So much better for the hair. so soft. So no chemical. Do yourself a favor.

I found Marlon in a unique way. I was very unhappy with the people who were coloring and cutting my hair. Despite their high prices and my excessive tipping, they wouldn't be a little more bold with highlights, or do a more flattering and shorter cut. I decided to try and find a salon where someone could go in and walk out with blue hair. When I searched the Internet for a salon and 'blue hair' I came up with Frange Blue - and Marlon. I couldn't be happier. He totally listened to my ideas for color and did them. He also gave me the stylish, shorter haircut I was longing for. I get rave reviews from all my co-workers and friends and have been very happy with Marlon and our mutual collaboration on my hair - and what will match my lifestyle and personality. I feel lucky to have found him.

Have gotten my hair cut twice and I've been very, very pleased. I have misbehavin' locks and he totally tamed them not only through the cut itself but by recommending an appropriate product that did not leave my hair greasy. Highly recommend.

I had the Keratin Coppola done by Marlon Ramos last week in San Francisco, CA and it is great. Washed yesterday for the first time and did a quick drying to find smooth, no frizzzz hair. It is a little shocking because usually I would have to apply heat, CHI, Curler , etc. to get rid of the frizz but not now....... Thank you Marlon

I have been a customer of Marlon's for about a year and a half. I went to him when my hair was incredibly damaged and I was stuck in a rut with my hair style. Within six months may hair quality improved tremendously and I have received numerous compliments on my color and cut, something I never experienced before. He is also a wonderful person to meet.

Marlon is THE HOTNESS; a true hairstylist! I visited Marlon for "just a trim" but left with a renewed sense of self and the most adorable hairstyle I have ever had. I have baby fine hair and had lost my natural curls. Marlon restored my curls, refreshed my look and made me feel ten years younger. A true artist. This was the first time I've had my haircut/color by Marlon Ramos. My hair is difficult, so I usually give stylist extensive instructions in order to avoid disasters. Run, do not walk, to Marlon @ Frange Blue! I came in today as a new client and left as a convert. With minimal instruction from me (current color is too dark, it pulls red easily and I don't want any, leave the length), Marlon set to work. The result? Beautiful hair that complements my eyes and complexion, a great cut I feel confident styling at home, and the overall feeling of complete satisfaction. I have had several thermal reconditionings in different salons in the past 5 years, but none of them have come close to the incredible job Marlon Ramos have done with my hair. I am very happy with the results of the Brazilian keratin Treatment and I think that Marlon is the best kept secret in the industry. A 5 hours process turns out to take 3 hours. Marlon at Frange Blue Salon did an amazing job! I had been dying my ( naturally light brown ) hair black for aver 3 years and he was able to lift out the black, re-dye it in a pleasing shade of brow, and give me the best haircut! I was expecting an acceptable, not that great color because striping hair of so much black dye and then putting another color on top of that is an involved process and damaging to the hair. The color that I came out with is a warm brown with highlights; It looks completely natural and I've had many complements on both color and cut.
A very talented stylist in a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Marlon has done twice my thermal reconditioning and I really love it. I've finaly found the way to have smooth hair here in the city. Since I have thick hair and with volume and a little wave, I was going crazy since I came to live here, a year ago. I found him in citysearch and went there and he did a great haircut also for me. I found Marlon Ramos off of Citysearch as I was looking for a place to get a really nice Haircut. I found it! Marlon is really good, He's incredibly talented and sweet! I'm very happy with his work, he transformed my hair. It's beautiful ! :) All the other staff I spoke with were really friendly and made me very comfortable. the salon is very cozy! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My entire life has had me crying each time I went to a beautician----curly, frizzy, thick, coarse, dull are the adjectives that described my hair. Everyone has tried, but no one was able to conquer my hair. Two years ago my husband found my miracle worker....I now have thermals, regular coloring and cutting. My hair can now be worn in a current style, look healthy, and make me smile because I feel good. The one catch is that I drive 3 1/2 hours to San Francisco to experience the monthly magic and I plan on doing it forever! For me it is such a small price to pay to finally enjoy having pretty striking hair.

I have been searching for a new hairstylist since I moved to the bay area and grew tried of having to drive over an hour to have my hair done by my previous hairstylist.

A few weeks ago I came on city search and found Marlon. I read all of the reviews for Marlon and was excited to book an appointment.

With a miracle Marlon had a last minute cancellation and he was able to squeeze me in last week. When I went to see Marlon, I brought in a picture of how I wanted my hair to look. Marlon cut my hair and colored my hair exactly like the picture.

It has been a week now and I am still amazed on what a fabulous job he did. I love my new color and cut and have received endless compliments on it.

Marlon has an amazing personality and I loved his good energy. I will definitely be going to him for now on. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Marlon you are a Hair Guru. :) See you soon.

I have been in the market for a new stylist; I recently moved to San Francisco. I was referred to Marlon Ramos so I looked him up on citySearch and Marlon had quite a few amazing reviews; so I thought I'd give him a try. I have to say that my hair looks the best it ever has. Marlon gave me the best color/highlights , a perfect shade of brown with honey highligths

Marlon did a wonderful job bleaching my hair into a nice and even golden blonde color. Unlike other salons, the bleach didn't even irritate my scalp. He also corrected the orangey color that my previous stylist messed up on before. He is a hair coloring expert!
He is very nice and friendly too which makes the salon experience even more wonderful. It's a bit expensive but it's better than having an inexperienced stylist do your hair and mess it up just to save money.
I recommend Marlon and Frange Blue for all of your hair coloring needs.

I have the difficult hair to work with; thin, blonde, old (48 not 28), and thinning due to breast cancer medicine "Tamoxifen". I had heard really great things about him from a co-worker and wanted to look exceptional just once after surgery! I wanted him to give me his opinion-what he thought (most hair stylists won't do that in case you end up not liking it). I wanted reds, and he immediately had the colors in mind for my low lights and highlights. It was the most perfect hair color I've ever had. It complimented my skin color, my personality, it felt and looked healthy afterwards. He really was amazing. I'm still tired these days, and I don't live in town - but I'll be back. Thanks Marlon.

I moved to Monterey from San Diego 2 years ago and had no idea where to go to get my hair done. I tried at least 4 different places, none of which worked and my hair was left an unflattering shade of red with a lifeless cut to match. I'd finally had enough and decided I would make the trip to San Fran and hopefully find someone to save my poor hair. I read the glowing reviews about Marlon online and booked an appointment and boy am I glad I did!! Not only was he able to fix the color (beautiful brown with tasteful blonde highlights) and bring my hair back to life but his positive personality and the unpretentious environment of the salon were a breath of fresh air! He is a beautiful, radiant person with incredible talent - he truly loves what he does and it shows in his work. I'm super bummed I'm going to be moving back to San Diego next month but will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in town!! :) Thank you Marlon!! :)

Marlon is not only a talented stylist and colorist, but just as importantly he LISTENS! and respectfully considered my tastes, preferences, and budget. That's a winning combination in book and I have had vast experiences with hairstylists in both SF and NYC. He tastefully added more highlights to my colored-blonde hair and gave me a cut that immediately complemented the uniqueness of the way my hair grows.

Marlon has been my hair stylist for over 10 years. I have a lot of hair! I am always amazed at how easily and quickly he cuts & styles my hair. His styling recommendations never let me down - you can completely trust his judgement and honesty. I constantly receive compliments about the styling.

Recently, after many years of suggesting this to me, I went in for my first thermal reconditioning treatment. Marlon had told me that it would change my life and has it! The experience was first rate. Marlon walked me thru every step of the process (I've never had processing of any kind done). As a result, I have had so many friends commenting on how healthy and shiny my hair looks. It has shaved at least 30 minutes off of my normal styling routine. It's great to know that I can just wash and go whenever I like - just as Marlon promised.

Marlon is an all-round fantastic stylist and person. I highly recommend going to him for a haircut and if you are considering straightening your hair. There's simply no one better in the bay area. Marlon - many thanks!!

I was heading out to SF for a conference (from Columbus, Ohio) and decided to contact Marlon after reading about him and Frange Blue in Allure. What a great decision that was.

Marlon is great all around. I had such a great time with him at the salon. He is so nice, genuine and fun - a great personality. And the results of his work - I have been heard from number of people- friends, family, co-workers..."wow does your hair look fantastic", "knockout", "that is the best I have ever seen your hair look" and "your hair perfectly frames your face", and many others--all unsolicited. I believe it is the best it has ever looked and it has been so easy to care for and maintain.

My hair has been a bit longer for some time and is very fine. Despite many fairly expensive haircuts with higher end salons in the Columbus area, my hair just didn't have an impressive style. It's fine, blonde and very straight. I needed something that was low maintenance but stylish and attractive.

Marlon listened and understood I wanted to keep my hair as long as possible but give it style and body. The length he chose was perfect. He gave me some very beautiful long layers that make my hair look much fuller. The highlights were absolutely perfect. It looks very natural yet exciting. With very little effort I believe my hair looks great every day now. No more ponytails.

I loved the Frange Blue salon too. Unassuming, no frills, no intimidation and no snobbery.

So, now the biggest problem I face is - how am I going to get out to SF to get my hair done throughout the year?! I don't want to go back to anyone else!

HIGHLY recommended - withough hesitation!

Marlon was great! About six years ago, I had a horrid experience with a hairstylist. I was younger at the time and was devastated. Despite seeing Marlon's many 5 star ratings, I felt somewhat nervous getting my haircut. I told Marlon my past experience, and he made me feel completely comfortable. Not to mention he did a great job on my layers!

my family had been going to Marlon for years and we absolutely love him and his work.
i have had my hair done by another salon before and hated it! and i was hesitant to get it done again, but Marlon made it amazing and with his talent amazed me,and my mom, that she got it donreby him a week later!
i recommend it to anyone considering it and wanting it and to ONLY get it done by him. he is a true professional.

Marlon is the best. He is not only a great stylist but a super nice guy. I was apprehensive about getting my medium length hair cut short but agreed to on Marlon's recommendation. I would not have my hair cut short with any one else...Marlon really inspires confidence. So glad I did...have not received so many compliments.

Will make it a point to get my hair styled with Marlon whenever I visit San Francisco. I love the city but now have an added incentive to visit.

I have long hair. I'm from NY and never had a problem getting a good cut there but since I moved to SF it's been a different story. Marlon has been able to miraculously fix my mishaps ( My hair was a frosted disaster after getting highlights done in Paris and Marlon didn't even scold me after my shameless bout with manic panic ). He was even able to easily resuscitate me back into a blonde after foolishly going red. In other words, he's seen it all and done it all. The reason why i wound up at Frange Blue to see Marlon: I had the worst haircut ever... my salon expanded and I got one of the new stylists.. I thought it would be fine but murphys law kicked in and omg my hair was awful... turns out due to some issues of my own with my hair from other salons ( highlighting, dying and styling ) had caused my hair to split majorly... It was so damage he had to cut it all off... the woman had no idea what she was doing and gave me a haircut between a mulllet, pixie, and bob. I was in tears. Marlon fixed my hair color and cut. I have lived in San Francisco, for Two years now, and finding a good hair salon was tough. I had been i many hair salons before Marlon Ramos, and was about to give up hope. I decide to give Marlon a Call, after looking to his website. I went in for my appointment the following week. Every since i saw Marlon for the first time I have being Sold. Marlon Ramos is my hero! He's the best.

I found Marlon on CitySearch and read all the reviews. When I called, he made an appointment right away and it was great. I got a fantastic cut. The next week, I went back for color. I was building up my nerve for a "thermal". I now have straight hair, but more importantly, it is easy to manage and looks great.
I highly recommend Marlon. And believe me, I have difficult hair and have had many bad hair cuts. He saved the day, month, and year.

Marlon has cut and highlighted my hair for 12 years. I started going to him when I was in college when he was at DiPietro Todd. I have followed him to his two other saloons. I moved to LA this year and instead of finding a new person down here, I still make sure to call Frange Blue before heading back to San Francisco to see if Marlon is available. His up-do's cannot be beat- he has done a handful for me on special occasions and has made them look very natural. I love being able to sit down in the chair and say, "I trust you Marlon" and let him go to work on the shape and highlights. He is a wonderful guy, and the only one I trust to touch my hair. If you actually live in San Francisco, going to him is a no brainer.

Just moved here from New York City about 7 months ago and started seeing Marlon on the advice of a friend. What a recommendation! Not only do i love his attitude and professionalism, but the gorgeous and very healthy looking Thermal-reconditioning that he did to my hair. My frizzy, helpless curly hair has never looked this classy until now. Thank you very much Marlon for giving me a new way of seeing myself....BEAUTIFULL.

I've been getting my hair cut by Marlon for seven years, and I could not imagine going anywhere else. I personally don't like making decisions about what style or length would look best and I appreciate that I can leave that up to Marlon, since he's the expert, and he always does a fantastic job. I try to plan my appointment around events as I know the style will look perfect. If only I could get him to do house calls and style my hair for me everyday!

Until I found Marlon, I had tried many high-end hair stylists, with disastrous results, in cutting my somewhat difficult Asian hair. On my first appointment with him, he salvaged a very, very bad haircut I received elsewhere which showed his skills as a very talented stylist. Marlon works with you in getting the haircut that you want for the type of hair you have, and that compliments your features. He gives you his undivided attention and you leave Frange Blue feeling and looking great!

Our family was planning a trip to the San Francisco area (from New Hampshire) and I wanted a great haircut while there. So, I started researching the many hair salons in the San Francisco area. I decided on Frange Blue because Marlon had received numerous 5 star ratings with glowing reviews. I was not disappointed! At the beginning of my appointment, Marlon discussed with me our several options. We decided on a haircut that was stylish and classy. Having viewed the latest Hollywood styles, I feel like I am up to date and beautiful. I love my new cut. I am able to wear it down, up, straight or with curl. Best of all, my husband loves it, too! Marlon has been my stylist for over 5 years and I followed him through three moves, he's that good! Originally I started with Marlon because of his skill with Thermals. I have very frizzy, very thick hair. I'm also very busy and frankly too lazy to put up with 45 minutes (MINIMUM!) of styling every day. Marlon made me look like a movie star. After my thermal and a great cut, I can walk out of the shower and let my hair dry naturally and it looks professional and stylish.

I've been back for thermals four times and next week will be in for the fifth! Many have asked about how my hair has responded to being "done" so many times. I'm not sure how, but Marlon's process makes my hair feel so soft and silky. In fact, I was scared that my hair would only look good the first time it was "thermal-ed". But, after four times, it still looks and feels so healthy.

Marlon became my main man for cut and color when I had a bad experience with another stylist. I had orange hair people! It was so brassy. I stopped by Marlon's for a cut after my color process. I was upset that my hair was not the red I envisioned--I wanted auburn, not orange. He was tactfully honest with me when I pressed him for an opinion of my color. Then he made room in his schedule to fix it so I'd like it and feel pretty for my date that night. I've always appreciated him for that. The guy didn't work out, but my hair looked great.

Next month, I move to NYC for a new job. I plan to fly back every other month so I can stay with Marlon. Obviously, I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fabulous head of hair.

Marlon is the best hairstylist in the Bay! I've been following him for over 4 years because not only is an awesome colorist but he knows how to cut hair! That is a rare find. I have naturally wavy, frizzy dark brown hair. After seeing Marlon my hair is now smooth and perfectly highlighted with blond and caramel colors. Thank you Marlon!

Marlon gave me the best hair make over ever. I came in with a totally unflattering color and cut. Without knowing what I was really looking for, only knowing that I was desperately in need of a change, Marlon gave me the perfect cut and color. I went in with practically black hair, and am now on the road to a blonde, and my boring shoulder length hair is an adorable, close bob. He is so nice, and I like that he didn't ask for simply what I wanted now , but what I am looking for in the future as well, so he can shape and color according to that. He completely got me out of my hair rut and I am advising all of my friends to go to Marlon!!!

Marlon Ramos is, by far, the most talented hairstylist I?ve ever found. I?ve been as loyal as possible to him for about 9 years, despite moving to Arizona. I try to find ways to be in SF so that I can see him. Every time I go to Marlon I leave feeling famous. I actually went 6 months on one of his cuts because I had moved out of state and 1) it still looked as good as the day it was cut and 2) I didn?t want to risk ruining my hair. He is fun, complimentary, knowledgeable, on-trend and smart. As good as he is, it?s amazing how he makes it look effortless. To me, this just reinforces that his skill is innate. If you?ve never been happy with your hair, you really can?t fathom how good he is until you try him. He is a genius who is in a league of his own. Simply put, Marlon makes my hair my best physical feature. Make an appointment today!

I have been treating myself to Marlon for several years. He cuts, colors, styles my hair wonderfully. He even straightened it using Thermal treatment. When he suggested a Brazilian Keratin Treatment, I went along because Marlon is never wrong. He knows hair, he knows my hair. I have to say, this was his best suggestion yet. Amazing. The treatment takes very little time, compared to the Thermal, but more importantly, while it straightens the hair, it leaves it with far more body. And soft??? Unbelievable. You really have to experience it to believe it. Do yourself a favor. Put your hair in Marlon's hands. You too will become a fan. And, as a bonus, he is one of the nicest people around. For real.

Marlon "Scissorhands" is the most talented, artful and professional hairdresser my hair has ever been touched by.. I can honestly say this guy is capable of miracles because he transformed me into an entire different person after one haircut and highlights. I found Marlan in CitySearch when my stylist left the Bay Area. When I phoned I scheduled an appointment for a makeover haircut! I went in on a Saturday morning, and he took a lot of time talking with me before he started. He gives a great scalp massage with his shampoo. My style is up to date, manageable day to day. I get a lot of complements when I am out shopping from both men and women. Marlan does my color now. I have referred friends and family members. Marlon has a done such a wonderful job with my hair. He has been cutting and coloring my hair for almost a year now and has completely revived it by cutting off damaged ends and guiding me through conditioning treatments. I have been getting my haircut with Marlon for about 5 years now. There have been so many folks who complimented the haircut and then followed up by having Marlon do their hair. I currently live in Redwood City and for 5 years now I make a special trip into San Francisco just to have my hair done by Marlon. I would not even think about having someone else cut my hair. He also cuts/colors/styles my wifes hair and creates a work of art that others continually compliment. Marlon is a step above the rest in terms of his style because he does not just focus on your hair; He looks at the complete image you want to portray and works to build that image through his cutting, coloring and style.

arlon was referred to us when our stylist from DiPietro Todd moved to New York. Marlon came highly recommended and we have followed him from DiPietro Todd to Frange Blue. He is very talented in styling both men and women which we have experienced. The small atmosphere at Frange Blue makes for a very relaxed and creative experience. I was referred to Marlon by another stylist (6) years ago and have been happy with his work since the beginning. He always greets me with a warm hug and a smile. Marlon is both my colorist and the person who cuts my hair. It is true that you can tell a good hair cut by how it grows out because my hair always looks great whether I see Marlon every (6) weeks or (10) weeks. He is very good at what he does.
