It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

Looking forward to a special treat for birthday, made reservations for brunch at least 10 days before, and drove 60 minutes on a rainy day. After waiting more than 45 minutes, host said it would probably be another 30 minutes and that meant we would have about 40 minutes to enjoy a $40 brunch. Horrible, horrible communication and service. It was obvious they were understaffed and not prepared. Spoiled the day and we will not return.

This is a beautiful hotel that resembles a mission although it isn't one. Stunning in pictures and perfect for weddings. There are a few themes playing within the hotel. It has it's own chapel that looks like an old cathedral. During December they host the Festival of Lights and dress the entire hotel and surrounding streets in christmas lights. Very pretty!

My husband has taken me to the Mission Inn on several occasions. It is fun to be somewhere that is so historic and beautiful at the same time. The service is great and they have a great bar!!!!
5I would never recommend this restaurant. We were greeted with attitude and we didn't even bother to dine there because of this... the hostesses were rude and unhelpful. We put our names in and the wait was 2 hours... totally cool... so when our 2 hours were up we wanted to know the status of our table because our pager hadn't buzzed yet...
so the first time we went they said "very soon" my impression of very soon is a few minutes...
so we waited about 10 - 15 min.
we went to ask again for an approximate time and the response "very soon" so we just asked well can ya give us an estimate... 5 min? 10 min? what? "in a little bit"
OMG i was furious! obviously they didn't want our business so we left!

Pros: Looked nice...
Cons: bad attitudes...
This is a lovely place to have a wedding reception, go to lunch or dinner or take part of their elegant Sunday Brunch. It is also the place to take out of town guests, especially at Christmas. They have hundreds of animated decorations, lights and decor and is just so festive. There are also many little shops the area to browse around. We go at least once a year.

I took my family here for a Sunday brunch. Everyone loved it. Excellent for special occasions. A little pricy but well worth it. Read up on the history.
5Sure it's pricey, but then again, aren't most worthy brunches? The historic hotel ambience of the Mission Inn and the array of food are definitely worth it!
5The outdoor area rivals dinning any provincial European courtyard. However, the dining experience was ANY BUT. It was as if they were running short of staff and ran over to the local Denny's to find some help. When taking our order, I expected her to punctuate the orders with gum smacking. She proceeded to ignore us for the rest of the evening except for when she would say demanding things like, "If any of you want anything, NOW's the time to speak up" (while tapping her pencil). Our waitress must have brought the short-order cook with her. My friend's pasta dish with ground lamb tasted like HAMBURGER HELPER. My salmon was very dry. I hated it. Please do yourself a favor and go across the street to Mario's or find a Denny's so that at least you pay for what you get. UPDATE: The waitress was fired due to that incident and others.

The Mission Inn has the BEST Sunday brunch I have ever had! It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny! The service is outstanding, the food is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is great! I recommend it to anyone living in, visiting, or just driving through Riverside. Be sure to make reservations, particularly if it's a holiday.

TRIED TO EAT LUNCH THERE ON 12/27/06 AT 1PM. WAS SEATED AND ASKED FOR A WINE LIST. 10 MIN LATER IT ARRIVED. ASKED TO SEE THE WINE STEWART. 10 MORE MINUTES HE ARRIVED. TOLD HIM IT WAS OUR 35TH ANNIVERSARY .TOOK HIS SUGGESTION AND ORDERED A 1966 CAB ($170.00 )HE SAID IT WAS A GOOD WINE. 10 MORE MINUTES THE WINE SHOWED UP. THE GIRL STRUGGLED WITH THE CORK AND IT BROKE. AFTER SHE FINLEY GOT IT OUT I ASK TO SEE IT. THE CORK WAS BONE DRY. I SENT THE WINE BACK. 10 MORE MINUTES THE WINE STEWART CAME BACK SET THE WINE ON THE TABLE AND SAID IT NEEDED TO BREATH. I TOLD HIM I WANTED A DIFFERENT BOTTLE NOT THE ONE THAT WAS STORED WRONG. HE SAID IT WAS GOOD HE SERVED THIS BEFORE. I SAID I DIDN'T WANT THAT. HE DIDN'T OFFER A NEW BOTTLE HE JUST LEFT WITH THE WINE, AND SO DID I. YOUR RESTAURANT IS THE PITTS. I DON'T EXPECT TO BE TREATED LIKE TRASH. WONT BE BACK. WILL LET MANY OTHER PEOPLE NOW HOW POOR YOUR WINE STAFF IS.

We had a late reservation on Friday night and felt neglected and forgotten the whole time. The waiter took a long time to introduce himself-- and that was after we flagged someone down to ask for menus. I ordered the filet mignon and my boyfriend ordered the rib eye and they were delicious and cooked to perfection. The sides were fine, but nothing special. The dessert, a chocalate confection with a white topping (I forgot what it was called), was VERY DRY. We had to ask for our drinks to be refilled/replaced and when the check came, we had to ask for a pen. But the reason why I'm writing is because our leftovers were brought to us in a white plastic grocery bag! I thought it was stange until I saw a patron who left just before us with a Duane's bag and fumed. We asked the waiter about it and was told that there were no bags in the front, but will check the back. Lo and behold, more bags were found! We complained to management that we paid $165 for dinner and were treated as if we ordered Chinese takeout!!! He said that he would send us "something in the mail." We're young professionals and ethnic and I don't know if it was a racial thing, but what I do know is that we were treated like second class citizens the whole night. NEVER AGAIN!! Update: Two months have gone by and we never received that "something in the mail." That figures-- a quality restaurant is reflected in its management and Duane's management doesn't stand by its word nor does it respect its customers.

Pros: steaks, location
Cons: service, service, service
What can I say but wow! This hotel has so much history you really need to stay there to soak it all in. It is very clean, has great restaurants, and a very nice helpfully staff. This hotel can handle many functions like weddings, meetings and conferences. If you are looking for a nice romantic weekend please check this hotel out during the holidays. They decorate it with lights and carolers and even have horse drawn carriages rides. My family makes it a point to visit every year.

The Mission Inn Hotel is one of the best attractions in Riverside, California. Its historic content, beautiful architecture, and great room accommodations make this "Inn" the best hotel in the area. Pricing is reasonable for what you get for most of the year, though it may go up around the holidays. Around the holidays this place is the Christmas decoration capitol of the city. Everyone for miles around at some point or another makes their way down to the Mission Inn to simply walk around and enjoy the lights. This is a must see/ must stay in.
PROS: It's Sheer Beauty, especially around the holidays
CONS: None

This is an historic landmark, and as such an older proper that has been well maintained. Considered upscale by many, I found the rooms small, dark, and shabby. The hotel hosts many events (conventions, weddings and such) and at night it was noisey. They do have a nice restaurant, Duane's.
