Excellent, professional service! I have been having my scissors, saws and garden equipment sharpened at Nobile's for the past 25 years, they are the best! The sharpening lasts and is a bargain for the price.

BEWARE - if you care about your knives DO NOT TAKE THEM TO THESE GUYS. After reading their reviews I had them sharpen my Henckles Professional S bread knife and I regret that I ever set foot in this place. The knife was returned to me with scratches across 2/3 of the area of the blade. They tried to buff the scratches out and made a bigger mess. A $90 dollar knife that I was once proud to own is absulutely ruined. When I raised the issue with the owner he became defensive and argumentative and claimed that the knife was scratched when I brought it to him. He eventually admitted that he scratched it when he tried to hone it but refused to do anything about it except return the $8.50 that I paid him. If you're looking for even a semblance of quality workmanship or professional service you certainly will not find it here.

I work at a deli where the owner is such a penny pincher that he had NEVER sharpened the blade on the meat slicer in over 10 years. It was dull, very dull. I didn't realize how dull, until one day I literally stole the meat slicer, took it to Nobile Saw Works, and had them sharpen the circular blade, and send the bill to Sam's Sub Shop on Fulton Ave. It cost a whopping 5 bucks, I could see why the owner wouldn't pay, such an outrageous price for such a needless thing (sarcasm). When I put the slicer back together, and used it to cut the frozen beef we use for steak sandwiches, I was absolutely amazed at how easily it was cutting the meat. A one thousand percent improvement. I used to have to push as hard as I could (I bench about 225), for about 5 seconds per slice, now it cut through with no effort at all. Cut production time in more than half. The folks at Nobile did it in one day, and did a terrific job, and for only 5 bucks. They even balanced the blade and took the wobble out of it. Now the machine is much safer, and much more efficient, a pretty good $5 investment I think. I've moved up in the world and am now a chef at a fine hotel and regularly take my very expensive knives to Nobile to have them sharpened, the Nobile folks kick ass. They can sharpen anything from a paring knife to a carbide tooth industrial saw blade, and do it fast, like same day service fast. They rock, period.
