The WORST Fry's I've EVER been in!!! In the computer section there are at least 8 salespersons eager to ignore you after the obligatory "something you want?" statement. Ask them ANYTHING and they don't know! They couldn't even point me to where plain old AA batteries are sold in large packages, had no CLUE what the difference -aside from price -was between a netbook and a notebook laptop, knew absolutely nothing about Broadband plans, and when I asked two of them standing near the TV's about which one had the best screen clarity - they pointed over there shoulders vaguely in the direction of a wall of tv's (without saying a word or even looking at me). It's so Third World in there - like a swap meet in Hong Kong- no one cares, no one wants to be there - but they want a paycheck so they stay. 5 REAL employee's (and fire the rest) would make a difference- but Fry's is to cheap to hire any. ---and that check out line is the worst idea for customer service I've ever seen in 20 countries I've visited!

I dropped my computer off on a Monday after being told on the phone that I could "just bring it in".

When I got there I had to pay in advance for back up and diagnosis and once they had my money it has been a never ending parade of excuses as to why they still do not even know what is wrong with the thing FOUR DAYS LATER. I have explained that this is our business and my livelihood and they act sympathetic and then continue to get nothing done.

If you have important data on your computer and need it repaired in a hurry THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO TAKE IT.

Pros: Hoping to find something good

Cons: Will waste your time and money

You better know what you want at Fry's and don't ask clerks for computer advice... I am an IT Pro and the stuff I hear in there makes my toes curl. Don't return ANYTHING. It's a hassle --- faster to put it on EBay. Don't buy anything that has a white return sticker on it because some moron already tried to install it and didn't know what they were doing. Other than that.... I like the place for good deals.

purchased a 20"screen HP laptop in Dec 2007 with Fry's 5 yr $350 extended warranty at the Fountain Valley store. The Laptop worked great, no complaints about the laptop. I screwed up the DVD burner (yes it was dumb of me) and submitted the laptop for repairs on March 5, 2008 to the service dept of the Fountain Valley Fry's store. So far, in excess of 90 days, they have not repaired the laptop or given me credit for purchase another one. Each time I go to the service dept they will offer an excuse as to why it is taking so long. I learned that on May 5, 2008 the Fry's corporate Buyer was working on giving me a credit or a replacement laptop. But, one month later, now is June 12, 2008, no one knows the status of the buyer?. The Frys Service Manger Mr. Browing ( a nice guy) on June 10 told me he would call me later on that day, because he was scheduled to have a video conference with Fry's corporate Head Quarters. Mr. Brown did not call me. on June 12 I went over to the Fry's service dept, and talked to the ladyservice repair coordinator (nice young lady). She tried getting hold of Mr. Brown by phone, but he did not return her calls. I asked to have the Store manager issue me a credit, but she told me the manager was on vacation. I then asked for the assist store manager...also gone..has irregular hours. I told the coordinator I was willing to lose the extended warranty and just would settle for a credit, but she said she could not do that. I told her I was at my wits end ( not much left now ) because I had to leave in 5 days for my motor home vacation and need the lapt top to do my video editing for my television programs I submitt to SBTV-2 in Seal Beach. I left very frustrated knowing, no one is acting on my behalf to get me back my laptop or give me a credit to purchase another one. So far, I have 2160 dollars tied up in the missing laptop and have a useless 5yr $350 extended warranty.

Every one that I have talked to at the Fry's store has been cordial and nice, but they only can offer excuses and do not offer to solve the problem...

I could spend all day inside this store. Although, the customer service and some of the lines are a pain in the butt, being a guy it's still interesting to see new things in the areas of my liking. Some prices are better if you know what you are looking for.

initially I choose FREE ground shipping, but the website automatically to 2 day shipping without my knowledge.

have a hard time getting my shipping to change to FREE ground shipping as ordered, and worse of all, before I have a chance to talk to the supervisor, the items was shipped.

to make the matter worse, if I have choosen the FREE ground shipping, the item would have been arrived, when they told me that they were going to shipped the item.

in addition, the item box was bent, that causes the item shipped to get bent as well.

the customer service was the worse, the least helpful, and didn't want to help at all.

Fry's is a fair choice for your computer and electronic needs. Staff are not as knowledgeable as they should be about products and services. Prices are good when there is a sale. A HUGE store, each with it's own theme. They do carry some hard to find items. Lines move fast due to huge quantity of check-out registers.

Like all Frys, they are unique with their own themes. But out of all I've been to, this one is definitely not the prettiest to look at. The aisles are really cramped together, so as a result, people are sardine canned in. I prefer to go to another, but this one is the closest to my apartment. As far as prices go, they have fantastic sales every week, so I try not to miss out on something I really want. The customer service can be a great annoyance at any Fry's, you will find yourself waiting a long time, and their procedures are so long.

this store is cool. it's a bit like a bigger version of best buy but with more selection. it kind of seems they sell a weird assortment of things, but i guess that's just the fry's experience. they have good prices when they have sales.

Great prices for merchandise that has not yet let me down - I found my Frys experience very satisfactory, though admittedly the customer service was lacking, or employees were always around when I didn't need them and never when I did. Otherwise, good stuff.

Be Warn, all stuff here are used or open and does not always work; well in my experience anyway. I have bought a few things from fry because from time to time, it is cheaper then any other retail. The bad part is their items never work even if it comes from a new unopened box. Be preparing to wait in the long return/exchange line.

Fry's is a very popular electronic store where you can find jsut about anything you may need. The prices are good and they have alot of computers and stereos and tv. The only problem is that this store is always so busy that you will be lucky if you can find anybody helping you. If you are self efficient is a good place otherwise you will have to face long waitings and stressed workers.

I suppose that Fry's electronics is a good store if you know exactly what it is you want and where in the store it is, because getting a salesperson to help you here is next to impossible. Fry's prices are good, but many times returned products are put back on the shelf. Some of my friends bought computers here and found that they were already registered to someone else who had returned the unit. Frys seems to always have a very long lines for returns and their customer service makes sure they give oyu a hard time and no servie. Repairs are slow and I have friends who were without their computer for over a month. I really would not recommend this store for anything. The hassle you save is more than the money you save.

During my last visit to Frys Electronics, I brought a telephone set for my office. The box was shrink wrapped and everything looks nice outside. For all I know, when I got home, the phone was label with some dude's name on the core and on the phone. The worst part was the phone didnt even work. I had to come back to Frys and wait in the long line and got my money back.

I have purchase many items from Frys Electronics, and always ending up returning a few tim before the item actually work correctly. For example, I brought a Panasonic KX-FPG376. First time, they didn't came with a charger so had to return it. Second time, the unit itself is dead. Third time, it actually work. I didn't save any money but so much hassle.

I brought a Samsung CD Burner. When I got home in the package there was no software or documentation included making it impossible to burn CDs without proper drivers. So then I went back to Fry for an exchange, they refuse to give me an exchange because there was not manual or CD. I ended up downloading the driver and software online.

The stuffs I buy at Frys always seen to give me problem one way or another. For example, I brought a brand new motherboard. My friend install it for me, and he is a pro because he build computer part time. The motherboard is brand new and unopen and no tag, so that why we pick it. It turn out to be defective when it won't boot up. The waiting line for return is always long. Parking is such a hassle.

Frys Electronics is always packed and crowed. During the weekend, I can barely walk through Fry. The bad part was, if I was able to find parking. Parking seems to be a problem, and people there are reckless drivers. Some man almost hit me because he wants to get a parking. The customer service is not anywhere near satisfactory. Also most of the stuff there are open and very badly treated.

Fry's probably got one of the worst customer services around. I drop by Fry to buy some computer parts. Their computer part department was so long, but there was only three people there helping. The worker there doesnt know what a line is because the man in the back of me complains and got to go ahead of me. After 30 minutes of waiting, I give you and went to CompUSA. I paid a bit more, but the customer and sale associate is greater.

Fry's is famous for being cheap. However, to me, I only find Fry's have good deal on the Motherboard and Cpu Combo. It pretty cheap compare to any other store. However the down side is, it does not always work and always have to return. Most the stuff are opened. When stuff at Fry is not one sale, they tend to be overprice and very expensive.

Fry's is know for their electronic across the west coast. I'm a computer techy and buy lots of computer parts. From experience, 1 out of 2 purchase from fry, it seen to have problems. Everytime the stuff didn't work, I ended up in the long waiting line to return or exchange. However, Fry does have the lowest price on computer combo. That probaly the only reason why i keep going back.

Absolutely the worst experience. First, there were no help around to answer questions about product line they carry, then I ended up buying a second choice of CDRW that didn't work. I stood in line for 45 minutes and there was only one other person in front of me waiting and four CS on the monitors at the counter. The other person in line tells me it's always like this. Couple of days later I called them to see if they have my first choice of CDRW. Four time their system cut me off. When I finally got through they ask to leave a message since that dept is too busy. Oh, and the main (only) number listed is the switchboard and the operator doesn't have access to the system. Looks like Fry's is still in 19th century.
