Lovely place for lunch or dinner  4 Star Rating - Very good

There are several South Bay locations for Mio Vicino and all are really nice. The atmosphere is cozy, the pasta is delicious, service is friendly and it's a great place for either a casual date night or to bring the whole family. The Campbell location is nice as the whole area is becoming more lively and you can take a nice stroll before or after your meal.

Bad service and attitude 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

To be honest, I would NEVER eat here again. My friend already wrote but I had to put my two cents in as well. The food was good but not worth the price. I kindly asked if it would be possible to add chicken to an appetizer salad (I try to eat healthy and there was not a lot of other options for this). The waitress did not give any indication this would be an issue. For the simple request of adding chicken I was charged $13 which brought my small salad to $22. I can understand charging extra for chicken (although $13 seems a bit much) and had expected it but I feel that we should have been told by our waitress that the cost of our selection would more than double. Which brings me to my second complaint, the service was less than stellar. When this was mentioned we were told that there was a large party and the waitress was doing the best she could. Apparently because we were a smaller party we were not considered as important. My advice would be to not book large parties if you can't handle it. The chef was also borderline rude when my friend was told to bring the issue of the chicken up with him.

Bottom line is, I would never go back to a place to pay those prices for poor service and to be treated rudely. The food wasn't worth that!

Pros: Unfortunately the cons outweigh the pros...
Cons: Service was not great. We were treated rudely. Food seems overpriced.

horrible attitude on the chef 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

We then received our meals which were good. The problem really begins when we received the bill. Two women in my party decided to add chicken to their $9 appetizer salad. When we received the bill, they were charge $22 for a appetizer salad with chicken, Ladies and gentlemen that is $13 dollars more for a salad. So we decided to ask our server about this before we paid. her answer, " We'll since we had a such a large party tonight, I wasn't sure how to charge so I asked the chef" Whoa- I am so glad that we were here the very first time we had a large party... anyways, we kindly asked her to speak with the chef about lowering the price. At the very least, the server should have told my friends that it was going to one and a half times more than the original price! The server came back and said, " the chef won't budge, would you like to talk to him? " I answered, "Yes" , Then she said, " You may go up to the line" What , the chef isn't even going to come to the table!!!!!

he stared at me and asked what I wanted. I told him we were disappointed that we were not informed of the huge increase to the salad. He said, " I am trying to run a business, and every time I put a piece of chicken on a plate, I am paying for a whole chicken! " " we understood that the cost would increase, however $13 was excessive and that the server should have given the my friends the opportunity to change their minds. I also shared with them that the server was not attentive" She broke into the conversation and said" I had a large party tonight , and I was very busy!" I looked at the chef, he then said" I'll take off the coffees, but next time your friends decide to create their own menu, tell them to ask how much it'll cost! and again, the server said, " I am very sorry, we had a large party( 12 people)!!!"
I just couldn't believe how we were treated. All my friends did was ask for chicken on a salad.

Pros: small and great for a date
Cons: awful service and attitude, not able to admit when they are wrong
