I have been taking my car to this shop for over 15 years and i have recommended this shop to my family and friends, they are have been taking care of me and giving me a fair price, i do not look for cheep but fair, one time they even warranty one of the repairs even past the one year, they give me a loaner car every time and my car is always washed after service and i never had to take it back for the same problem, that is why i like this shop and i recommened them.

These guys are mindless hacks and crooks.Friend of mine took there car here and the "experts" basically stole from them. I know something about cars so I looked over the invoice after the crime. They charged them $4000+ dollars on various recommended repairs. Some of the repairs were certainly needs, but after I saw what they charged for other things, I'm left wondering if they did anything at all. This charge included double charges on labor for some of the items that were included in the timing belt job...they charged them in the timing belt job flat rate and then charged again as separate line items; charge for an alignment which is not possible on an Acura MDX; $40 for cleaning the throttle body...a 5 minute job with a spray can of cleaner...; charged nearly $400 for front disc brake pads, rotor turn....basic brake job....; charge for flushing the power steering...this is not a need...it's a money maker. Finally....they claimed that an oil leak that showed up after they did the work was from the rear main seal and said it would be another $1000 to repair. They also claimed that a wire holding the oil pan screws in place was broken and if not fixed the oil pan would fall off...impossible....After hearing all this I told them to take it to a reputable mechanic I know so he could review the repairs and the oil leak. He was blown away by what they were charged for. He also found the oil leak. Apparently the "experts" had stripped the drain plug in the oil pan. They tried to fix the damage they caused with a Helicoil, but installed it crooked (much like they are) so it wouldn't seal any more. Then they lied and told my friends it was the rear main seal and they would have raped them for another $1000 if my friends had not grown suspicious and asked me for advice.CROOKS!!!!
It would not surprise me if some of the positive reviews here are the "experts" trying to boost their rating with bogus reviews.

I had a bad water leak on Saturday afternoon when I called this shop,The owner and manger worked on my car for 2 &1/2 hours after the closing in order for me to make it home in LA, Thank you Auto Care Experts.
I will be doing all my major repair at your shop and would not hesitate to refer any one to your shop.

Places like these are what give mechanic shops a bad name.
My experience: Had major engine problem. Towed it in for an opinion. New engine would be $5000. The owner said he could fix for $1600. I told them to go ahead and was thrilled. Went to pick it up after delays and more delays. Bill came to $8000. (not kidding).
At that point, what do you do? I need a car, they can put a mechanic's lien on my house. What could I do? I paid them and the thing broke again precisely when the warranty on their work ran out. I would never go back there. And I work on cars! Shame on me for trusting them.
These people are crooks. If you're fortunate enough to not have been taken by them (yet), consider yourself lucky. If you take your car to this shop and ignore the obvious warnings posted here, then you're misguided. Proceed at your own risk.

I was refferd by my freind to auto care experts and i am very happy to try them, my car had hard start that dealer told me i would need to spend $1200.00 for fixing it, auto care experts fixed it for $583.00 in almost half price, i was givin a free lonaer car and my car is running better that ever thanks to them.

we are glad so glad to fine this shop, they do know what they are doing, they fixed our car for way less than what the dealer wanted and way faster also, ( i have not seen a shop this clean ),
i will go there agian when i need service and recommened them also.

Sorriest day of my life was when I took my car to these crooks.
Charged me for excessive repairs I didn't need and never fixed the original problem.
Had to have my car towed OFF their lot. That's telling you what kind of mechanics they are.

I chose this shop because it was close to my home, my wife's car would not start and they were a preferred AAA shop. HUGE MISTAKE. Just like other reviews on this site, they overcharged me on labor by double what the recommended repair time is. I authorized repairs over the phone because I needed the car quickly, but when they faxed over the bill I went over the labor times and got quotes from 2 nearby dealerships. They could have done the job for 1/2 the price!!! When I went to pick up the car I asked to go over the labor amount with the shop to break down what was actually done and for how long. That is when things got ugly with the owner. After arguing for several minutes with the staff and being threatened with $45 a day storage if I didn't pay, they reduced the labor by 22%. The bill was still higher than any other shop I spoke to. The staff then had the nerve to try and sell other work to me on this vehicle immediately afterward and said they would work with me on the price!! Needless to say, I WILL NEVER take my car to this shop again and will advise others to avoid this place. There are several other shops on Via Fabricante and I will take my chances with them first.

I went into this place to fix my AC and they charge a boatload for service. Apparently, it took them over 7 hours of labor to put in a part. When they were almost done, they called me back saying it would be another 100 bucks. What the?
They are really nice and friendly but could be just a front to gain your trust. Certainly worked on me.
PROS: friendly, nice
CONS: expensive, expensive, expensive

They will quote a low price and complete repairs. Once your car is there they will charge 4 times the price and not complete the repairs. I would never trust this shop.

this place is really great. The owner and workers are really friendly and willing to help. They do honest work and at reasonable prices. When my sister's car starting smoking on the road, one of the employees drove out after hours to help us. Quality service and trustworthy. Definitely a good place to take your car.

I was referred to Auto Care Experts by my roommate and she was right! They are the best, hands down. I've always gotten great care for my car there, plus the will email you to remind you when you are due for an oil change or a tune-up, which is great for people like me who tend to forget those little things!

These guys are clean, honest, hard working mechanics and it shows. The lobby is clean, the estimates are always on target and you don't feel like you are being ripped off. They keep records of all the maintance done to your car online so you can keep track of the work being done. Wonderful service and honest prices.

A GREAT PLACE TO GET NOTHING!!!!!!!

Was going to have $6000 worth of work done in an accident claim. They were very nice and scripted until I got the car in. Then they flipped a 180 on me. They gave me no help, no answers, lots of broken promises. Prices changed several times. Got no results until I had a tow truck to pull the car out of their shop. They charged me for everything they could think of for my car sitting with no work being done. They thrashed my car with bondo dust inside and out. Also they charged me a substantial amout for the loner car that was free until I had a problem with them. It had a dead battery twice. The brakes were metal to metal, the check engine light came on, and the door wouldn't lock. I know it was suppose to be a free loner but come on. Anyhow beware. THey are very rude, dishonest , and only customer friendly until they think they have you cornered with charges.
Pros: there are none. They are dishonest.
Cons: broke down loner cars, false charges

Women beware

I am completely dissatisfied with my service at this place. Not only did they treat me like I was an idiot because I happen to be a young woman, but they overcharged me and didn't even do half the stuff they said they did. I happen to know a lot more about my car than they seem to think. They told me I needed a lot of things fixed that I knew wasn't true for example, 'Your brakes could go at any second!' when really they'd been replaced a month earlier. On top of this they took waaaay longer fixing my car than they originally said, which left me stuck with a loaner car with a broken speedometer. I don't know about everyone else, but I tend to like to know how fast I'm going. Why they don't fix their loaner cars is beyond me. I ended up paying nearly 2 grand for something that would have cost me less than half that at the dealership. That taught me!
The point is, I was treated poorly because of my gender, overcharged, and unsatisfied.
Pros: They give you a free loaner car
Cons: The loaner car might not work.

Reliable and honest

It's so hard to find a good mechanic, but these guys have been great to us. Very honest and upfront in their estimates and work. Highly recommended.
