The Dolores Park Cafe is a popular hang-out for park goers. This cafe serves sandwiches, salads, soups, fruit smoothies, juices and coffee. It offers a limited breakfast menu. Live music is performed every Friday night.
The Scene Relax and read the paper or check out the cool black-and-white photographs on the sunny yellow walls. Big windows offer pretty views of the vast green expanse across the street. Many dog owners stop in here on their way to the park, so expect to step over at least a couple of pooches on your way in.
The Food On a nice day, sit at an outside table underneath the shade of the big palm trees and sip an iced coffee, a smoothie or fresh-squeezed lemonade. Enjoy a tuna sandwich (albacore with lots of dill and onion and not too much mayo on whole-grain bread) paired with a big pile of crunchy potato chips, or perhaps a huge Greek salad or toasted "Thai bagel" with cucumber slices and peanut butter. On a cold day, sit in the sparklingly clean interior and snuggle up to a white-chocolate mochaccino.
Decent cafe fare, sandwiches and salads and the like. The best part about it though is the location. It's on the corner right near the park, so it's convenient to stop in for a coffee or for a bite to eat. Good place to see and be seen too!

I love Dolores Park Cafe. Located across the street from the park, this tiny cafe serves up excellent food, coffee and smoothies. The weekends are a great time to stop by, because although it is crowded -- the vibe is just what you'd expect from a locally-owned SF cafe. You can't get better than Dolores Park Cafe!

Not Bad
By markengwels
My wife loves this place but really I do not see the appeal. There are way better places to go that here. Always loud and not enough seating.

Pricey food, but atmosphere good.
By eljim
I chose Dolores Park Cafe for a quick bite for lunch with a friend, and though the menu sounds simple and good, my Fresh Mozzarella sandwich was pretty bland and the Cafe Latte was warm. It's a good place to hang out and people watch, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're hungry and need something tasty to fulfill your cravings.
Pros: Atmosphere, location, view Cons: Pricey bland food, warm coffee

Neighborhood Cafe in Mission
By redlamp32
There's so many great things about the Mission, but having simple, cool neighborhood cafes is not one of them. But, Dolores Park Cafe is the salve to this ache. If you're looking for good, basic sandwich and salad fare, done with just enough care, go here. They also serve coffee drinks and other things you would expect in a sidewalk cafe. The prices are reasonable, given the quality of the food. The park is right across the way, if you want to grab something to go. Also, if you're a fan of cleanliness where you eat, this is a great spot.
Pros: Food quality, Location, Super clean

NOT Faboo, for many reasons
By leslieontherun
I just have to respond to the review titled "Faboo." The reviewer mentions the personable owner and the dogs. Actually, the owner allows her own dog in the cafe but insists that everyone else's dogs remain tied up outside. And, the owner is anything but personable. She's a snob and rude, but the place is ok when she's not around. Plus, the food is way overpriced and not that great. It's a neighborhood hangout, that's all.
Pros: nice location, sunny Cons: rude owner, $$ average food, no outlets for laptop

Expensive/no service, but still great
By ludi
Maybe I'm a sucker for a good sandwich, but I love Dolores Park Cafe (for the food). I would go there a lot more often if I could sit down and be served my meal as opposed to standing in line to order it and then waiting to be called to get up and fetch it. The prices imply full service dining but the food is really good, one of the best casual lunch spots.
