I've been using Bowlers Workshop for many years, both for bowling equipment and for trophies for several sports leagues I'm involved with. I guess everyone has bad days, in referring to another review of this store, but I've always been greeted with a smile and the service has always been great. Everything has always been ready when promised and most importantly, with the hundreds of trophies I've ordered, there has never been a mistake. Yes, Gary is a little laid back in his style, so if you need a big box style store environment, this is not the place for you. If you appreciate good service, and like to support small business, then it would be a good fit.

When I arrived to pick up my order at the specified time, I was casually, rudely told "It's not ready". That's it. No follow up, no apology. The following day, after picking up my order, I (very politely) suggested that a courtesy phone call would be professional if an order was not to be ready at the specified time. The response was "Nah, too busy." Seriously?? When I suggested (again, overly politely for the attitude I was receiving back) that a courtesy call would be good for repeat business, I was "dismissed" with a condescending "All right, you go on and have a good day now." Not sure how this shop stays open, but my business is definitely going elsewhere.

Needed a new ball drilled - should be simple enough considering they brag about all the years of experience they have. The shop is run by two guys. The owner is an older man who appears to have started his road down the Alzheimer's highway and the second guy is a flaming idiot who get's hostile if you might question his abilities in any shape or form. The first trip in the older gent measured and said it would be drilled and ready the next day. Returned to pick up - not drilled. The flaming idiot was there and was offended because I was surprised it wasn't drilled. He remeasured for a different grip style and said he would drill it shortly, I was busy so I returned the next day. Older gent again, ball still not drilled, guy didn't remember every waiting on me the first time I was in just 4 days earlier. Okay so he drills it and then in the middle stops to tell me about the flaming idiot with the abcess tooth and no dental insurance while he pulls out his nail clippers to pick and file his fingernails while we talk. Yeah, that was professional. Please, save your sanity. The guys at Crestview do their work professionally the first time. Should have never tried this one just because it was local - won't happen again.
