I enjoy coming here for breakfast. Usually they have interesting French toast specials, and the chef's revenge (sort of an egg/cheese/bacon scramble with a few more things) is great.

As a denizen of Silver Lake, I adore brunch runs to Madame Matisse's. They have a wonderful staff, great Benedicts and are dog-friendly at the outside tables - they even let me get chicken in a to go container for my adopted shelter

I like Madame Matisse, but agree sometimes it can be Miss. I haven't had any problems with cold dishes or bad coffee, but every now and then the food is kind of bland. However, I like the location, its convenient for me to meet friends

Pros: Good food, conveniently located.

Cons: Bad parking kharma.

After my second visit, still horribly underwhelmed by this restaurant. Now I know that silverlake/echo park isn't known for their taste in food so, granted, butl after a cold, tasteless omelet and equally cold, over cooked potatoes...i

Cons: Bad food on multiple visits

I love Madame Matisse. There is only room for about 20 people to eat at any given time, but the food is so good, and the ambience so inviting, you won't notice that the restaurant is rather petite. The breakfast is always tasty and cooked

As a connosieur of the Brunchtime Meal, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. For some reason they, unlike other joints on the same stretch, rarely have a line out the door during the busy weekend hours. Price, good. Food, good. Go get 'em.

This is a great breakfast place. Their coffee is out of this world and the bacon is very tasty! The French Toast has this orange syrup syrup that will drive your tastebuds crazy!

Pros: Imtimate. Good food. Human beings eat there. Reasonably priced.

This is one of our favorite restaurants and well worth the Sunset traffic to get there at night. The duck breast with cranberry is so moist and the calimari is flavorful and always fork tender. Save room for the warm flourless chocolate

In contrast to all the reviews, I go here for dinner. They are open Thurs-Sat evenings. Sometimes there is a long wait, but it's because it's worth it! \r

Madame Matisse is a weekend morning favorite of mine. I highly recommend the Scottish Eggs with the fresh-squeezed orange juice. For egg lovers, Madame Matisse will poach them well! Located on the corner of Sunset and Maltman, you have the choice to dine outside (recommended) and enjoy sun-drenched LA days while you eat.

Madame Matisse has become my favorite breakfast joint in LA. The pancakes are the best I've ever had--light and fluffy. Not for the butter-phobic, though. They pile it on! I've ordered a few other things, from waffles to omelettes, and

This is by far the BEST breakfast/brunch/lunch place in Silverlake. Amazing food & good service. Try the chicken sandwhich w/ the pesto & cheese or an omlette w/ goat cheese (the best quality goat cheese I've ever tasted). LOVE IT!!

Madame Matisse is Silver Lake's best breakfast. The French owner serves up letter-perfect country-style omelettes and a number of breakfast specialties with some cool jazz in the background. Seating is a little problematic: just four

Cons: Poor seating, Iffy help, Long waits

Editorial from

This little cafe attracts a lot of locals, making it another sought-after contender in the Silver Lake mad-rush-for-late-brunch Saturday mornings. The restaurant itself has a cozy, almost too-snug interior, but the outdoor dining offers…
