I would come here everyday for their Crab Chowder... deeee-li-cious!!!!! :D

Pricey place with fairly good food. I had the fish dish (you chose a type of fish tat you want and a style that you want them to make it). I would say this dish could use a little more flavor. However fish was fresh, cooked to perfection and great mix of ingredients for the variety of styles that they give as choices.

Dinner time is apparently always always crowded (as I was told by locals). They have a parking lot across the street just to hold more cars. I went there on a Saturday evening, their lot was crowded, the lot across the street was crowded and the side of the road was all filled. I'd recommend reservations.

Service is great: friendly and efficient. Since Crockett is a pretty small town, the locals seem to all know each other.

What's unique about this place is that we were able to bring in our own wine bottles and it didn't cost to cork it. I thought it was wierd when my friend told me that we were gonna bring our wine b/c he wanted me to try the one that we bought from BevMo'

Lastly- setting-- beautiful view! I think I almost love the view more than the chowder!

We waited for about 45 minutes to get our seats. I realized this is the weekend, but c'mon, how slow can you be! After seating, the service was also quite slow, and the food is typical Italian/seafood places that you can find elsewhere in the bay area. Great view, though.

What did I mean? The place is certainly unique, nice decor, which will time-warp you to a different place. It certainly has personality. But the food... is not. Good food, mind you, but I think it should be more daring and be more unique like the place itself.

I love the crab lasagna!! It's perfect..it looks a little small but it's soooo filling. It's all you really need. I also recommend the mussels skillet and the prime rib which is a big portion.

Service is excellent! Location is nice, ocean view. It can be either very casual or a nice quiet dinner for two.

Great pastas, Wine Menu, Cocktails, never a long wait, and the view mainly on 4th of July it's great, perfect evening romantic getaway. I've been to many Napa bistros as well as great restaurants in Sausalito and San Francisco, this place is peaceful, private, and the service is great it's a great option so you don't have the long wait & fight the traffic either(Fast Kitchen too) And the fireplace in the lounge it's awesome. I love it!!!!

Pros: Very clean, no long waits, no traffic, definitively a great time with your better half

Cons: Maybe the cold air of the bay for outside diners, but that's about it

The Dead Fish restaurant consistently impresses me with each visit. The wait staff is always friendly and courteous and give me honest and varied advice about what they like to order from their menu. There are amazing views of the bay at this romantic spot and the fresh sea food is unbeatable.
Definitely worth checking out!

I checked out the DF for brunch Sunday with a friend who lives over near Crockett. My friend got the crab benedict, an obvious choice given the nature of the restaurant. I stayed with the theme and got the crab omelet. Both items were really tasty with the fresh crab. My omelet had fontina, avocado, onion and tomato and was cooked perfectly. A fun and tasty brunch!

The Dead Fish is a great place to have drinks. The friendly staff continuously brings you warm and fresh bread while slip on drinks and overlook the water as the sun sets. I have not eaten dinner here yet but the appetizers and the atmosphere are great!

My dungeness crab sandwich came to the table as a french dip. When they corrected my sandwich, it was more like bread with a little strand of crab. I was very disappointed with my order, but I saw all the steaming, sizzling crab and shrimp skillet platters coming out for other tables and I was very jealous that I had not ordered that. On the other hand, the steamed clams were delicious. My side salad was pretty tiny. They should really take off the crab sandwich from the menu if it is going to be so skimpy on the crab. I'm dying to go back to try their platter plates.

Most of the time the food and service are fine. But when you're with a group of two or more, something is bound to go wrong at the Dead Fish. It's just a guarantee: wrong wine, charged twice for wine, way under-cooked steak, a strange tortilla in lieu of croutons on the Caesar...and they charge a lot for being so full of mistakes. But it's the nicest joint in the area.

PROS: mostly good food, great views
CONS: mistakes, pricey

The bruschetta was fantastic! Over New Year, our family went with both sets of parents/in-laws and kids. Good wine list, too. We were seated at a window overlooking the new Carquinez bridge, which is beautiful at night. The food was excellent and service was good. Overall a fantastic experience for our family. We have yet to go as a couple, but I know it is a romantic place just from our visit. The restaurant is reasonably priced and it's much needed in this area -- there are few good seafood restaurants around! I highly recommend.

The food, service and atmosphere...everything is A+....I use to go here every payday with my coworkers....Until I found another job.....I highly recommend the muscles, or I always get the prime rib/dungeness crab platter....The price is about 30 bucks for that...which is reasonable because the food is excellent!! Though when it's packed it's hard to get parking and you have to park up the hill across the street...but I DO NOT MIND...because i love this place!! Just a tip that you should make reservations ahead of time....

This is a little bit of a fancy reasturant, and that's reflected in the price. That being said, the food is really good. The reasturant is on the water, and has a lovely view. Probably better suited to a romantic evening than a family outing. There is also a cozy bar area where they have sofas and chairs set up in groups for a laid back gathering of friends. Several vegetarian options, which was good for me since they were out of the first item I ordered. I guess it shows that they stick to the fresh stuff.

PROS: Great atmosphere, good food
CONS: A little bit expensive. Not a family reasturant.

I went here for the first time on Thanksgiving of this year (2004), and what a FANTASTIC choice it was. I was in hog-heaven, eating some of the most DELICIOUS, amazing food I've ever had. The bruschetta was TO DIE for! The calamari was also quite good, and the salmon with the lemon-butter sauce was SUPERB. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also great, and the staff was nice and friendly. I give this place a 10-- I will DEFINITELY be coming back here!

Recommended by a friend, I was more than pleased with the results. The service was great, our waiter was especially attentive making suggestions for us along the way. From the bread to the entree's, everything was excellent. I was with a large party so there were plenty of different plates on the table. I especially recommend the Lasange-Prawn combination. It's the best of both worlds. The prawns were loaded with garlic essence and the lasagne was reminiscent of my homemade masterpiece. It's a little out of the way as far as location but it would not hinder me from frequenting the restaurant. Prices are comparable to any other upscale restaurant and definitely worth the money
