This is my first posting ,ever, anywhere, but I need to share my anger and frustration, and, if possible, protect others from a similar experience.

I bought my wedding dress at Bay Area Bridal in Cupertino. They ordered it from Waters and Waters. The dress is beautiful and cost $1600. I am a small person and the dress is very form-fitting.

At my fitting, the seamstress and I agreed the dress would look best let out just a bit in the hips. On Sept.28, at my final fitting ,the Bay Area Bridal seamstress, a friend who was with me, and I all pronounced the dress perfect.

My wedding took place on Oct. 9th, less than two weeks later. As I was getting dressed, the zipper on the dress completely broke. The zipper on this form-fitting dress was plastic and could not be fixed. I do not need to describe the trauma that ensued; it was one of the very worst moments of my life.

Fortunately, a friend of my mothers had a sewing kit and considerable sewing skill. She sewed me into the dress. I was an hour late to my own wedding. We lost the first half-hour of our reception and had to pay extra to extend the party.

We fully expected that when we returned the dress to Bay Area Bridal and told our story they would be as appalled as we were and refund our money immediately. Instead they denied any responsibility, took my measurements, and said I had grown two sizes and that the zipper had broken because I was too big for the dress. For obvious reasons, this is insulting and ridiculous:

1. The dress fit perfectly (according to their seamstress) less than two weeks before the wedding. I was very careful about my eating during that time, but even if I hadnt been, do they think I went from a size 0 to a size 4 in 10 days?

2. Even if my latest measurements are somewhat different from my original ones, they were taken more than three weeks after the wedding after I had been on a one week, all-inclusive, honeymoon.

My mom and I are taking Bay Area Bridal to small claims court. We recommend you not do business with them, or with Waters and Waters not because the zipper on the dress broke, but because they so completely refused to stand by their product.

I visited Bay Area Bridal for the first time after having gone to two other bridal stores. I have to say that Bay Area Bridal has a better selection of gowns then either Elegant Lace or Trudy's. When I got to Bay Area Bridal I was greeted by my consultant, Nikki who was cute little blonde girl. Nikki really listened to what I wanted and pulled five dresses that were right on point with what I had asked for. But it didn't take all five. . . I put on the first dress and fell in love. I never tried on the other four. After trying on dresses at the other stores I just knew that this was the dress for me. I felt like a princess . . . just the way you want to feel on your wedding day. I recommend Bay Area Bridal to every bride. Their selection is vast and the consultants (at least Nikki) really know how to find the right dresses to match your needs. I was at Bay Area Bridal when a trunk show was going on for jewelery. . . I think the lady's name was Eana, but I am not sure. Eana designed custom made jewelery and headband/tiara for my dress . . . talk about the perfect day. I want to thank Nikki and Eana for their help with making my wedding day match my dreams.

I love Bay Area Bridal! I had the best experience here! So me and my girlfriends went shopping to every bridal store, and this was by far the BEST! Yes, it is big, pretty, and has a huge inventory. Really packed on a weekend! (GO DURING THE WEEK, if you can). My consultant must have known everything dress in the store. I went in originally thinking that I wanted a poofy princess dress, but my consultant urged me to try on some different styles. So I told her bring me whatever she thought would look good on me. After about an hour and half of trying on a zillion dresses, we narrowed it down to 3 top picks. I came back with my mom about a week or so later, and wanted to show them to her. Not only did we try on my favorites, she also brought me more! She wasn't pushy, and let me keep trying my favorites over and over. Finally I picked my dress. (Not to mention it was one the she had brought me). Thank you! Thank you! I also found my bridesmaids dresses here! which I got discounts on because I bought wedding dress here.
I would recommend Bay Area Bridal to everyone!!!!

Although I found/bought the perfect wedding dress from their decent selection, I have soooo many complaints...First of all, it was like a mad-house in there with people everywhere and a very chaotic and unorganized staff. Even though I had an appointment, I had to stand in a corner by the entrance door (because that was the only unoccupied space) for nearly 45 minutes until they were ready for me. The sales girl was very young (late teens maybe) and didn't really know what she was doing. She was also inattentive and kind of rude to me, I think because I was by myself (as I prefer to shop without a zillion people giving input and watching) she didn't expect me to buy anything. Once in the fitting room, she offered no assistance and actually left to go chat with her co-worker. By the time she came back to check up on me, I had already tried on the 5 dresses I picked out and had already shopped the racks myself pulling a few more dresses to try on. She finally decided to start "helping" me by bringing ugly, tacky, cheap, so-not-my-style dresses to show me (I actually think some were prom dresses). Regardless of her incompetence, I found the perfect dress myself. After I paid $2000+ for my dress, the customer service just got worse! I had ordered a fabric swatch so I could get shoes that matched and 4 months went by with no swatch. I finally called about it and the lady had forgotten to order it! She promised to order it the next day and supposedly put a rush on it. Another 7 weeks passed and still no swatch. I called again, explaining the urgency of this matter (as my wedding is in about 7 weeks) and again was promised that it would be "rushed" to me...haha yeah right. To make matters worse, this whole time since purchasing the dress 6 months ago, I have been getting calls to inform me about upcoming trunk shows and bridal events at the store...umm, hello - how many wedding dresses do these people think I'm going to buy? I keep telling them to please not call unless it's about the dress I already bought, but the calls just keep on coming. I would NOT recommend this store unless you enjoy being stressed-out by incompetent and rude salespeople.

I went to Bay Area Bridal a couple of days ago,& I was so very pleased with the selection of dresses & the service. Jessica, my sales consultant, was the very best-very knowledgeable, very helpful,& oh,so patient! I was there for hours, and I'm still trying to decide what to buy. They are not pushy, at all, especially considering the fact that I took up a lot of their time, and left without a purchase,as of yet! They bent over backwards to make me feel
comfortable & special. The owners are fantastic, too! Look no further--just come here--you'll be so happy you did!!

I went on a weekend and was totally ignored even though I had an appointment. I ended up having to reschedule and come back on a week day. When I came back, I did not find anything I liked. It's worth a visit though.

This was one of the worst experiences i've had shopping for my dress. The consultant i had seemed annoyed with me from the beginning, and looked at me as if because i wasnt wearing expensive clothing i wasnt deserving of her time. she picked out the ugliest dresses she could find, for the highest prices even though i had clearly stated what i wanted, and that i had a small budget. after trying on a few dresses she started getting very impatient with me and started leaving me in the dressing room for ten to twenty minutes at a time although she had no other customers. when i asked for a particular style, she had to ask a fellow consultant who asked me if i had seen the one ""like that"" yet. i was offended when my consultant said, in a very irritated tone ""no she doesnt like anything i show her"" and the other rolled her eyes. also, if you are under a size ten dont bother trying to get a dress off the hanger, im a 2 or 4 and they had me try on 16 and 18s and pinned them so i couldnt get a sense of what they looked like at all. also, i had my fiance come with me and she started insulting him to me, saying he obviously doesnt care (because he was quiet and didnt like the service either) and that were too young. finally when i went to look at quincenera dresses because i was geting frustrated with their lack of nice wedding gowns, she left me in the room for somewhere between thirty-forty five minutes and i couldnt find her in the store. ive worked in customer service for some time and she was just a complete failure, as was the store in my opinion.

I went to Bay area bridal and the consultant Rachelle was wonderful I didn't know where to start. She had me pull out pictures and then she knew what I wanted. Rachelle was very talented and she knew what type of dress to put on me because of my body shape. I was really empressed by how she knew what to put on me and she measured me professionally. She helped me get my shoes and veil and headpiece I was all set and she was even a makeup artist and hair person so she knew what style of veil to put on me and colors. I was so empressed by her that I even put her down on my list to use her for my makeup artist and hair and her business is Nefertaribeauty in sunnyvale and I even looked her up on theknot and the website was there so I knew it was just fate. I have done makeup for people but I wanted to be pampered on my special day I didn't want the hassel.

After my initial appointment at Bay Area Bridal I went to two other bridal boutiques for assistance and was convinced that Bay Area Bridal was a smart choice. My consultant brought enthusiasm, creativity and courtesy to my shopping experience allowing me to come to this important decision in my own life. Her confidence in Bay Area Bridal by understanding my preference to shop around before committing to a purchase left me reassured and brought me back the next day!!!The peticoat was in excellent condition as I tried on different dresses. The abundance of wide and low chairs for weary brides wearing heavy gowns allowed a space for rejuvenation. Their expansive floor plan for the dressing room, which conceals brides from the shopping area allows at least 5 brides at a time to see one another wearing their dresses encourages comaraderie between brides who had never met. This is a letter of appraisal for store manager Nikki, a letter of thanks for the warmth from the store owner and a letter of recommendation that brides visit Bay Area Bridal at Leat Once!!!!

I recently went shopping for my wedding dress at Bay Area Bridal. I has a wonderful experience. I worked with Nikki and at first I didn't know what I was looking for. Immediately she started picking up on all my clues, asked all the right questions and selected a wedding gown that is gorgeous and elegant. Within an hour and half I found the dress I've always wanted. I would recommend the store.

Bay Area Bridal has a good selection of middle priced wedding gowns from popular designers. The workers are nice about letting you try on as many dresses as you want for as long as you want, but when I went they were all really young (high school-ish) and weren't very helpful. It's best to go here with a friend to help you out.

there are several amazing bridal gown selections, but in terms of bridesmaid dresses, this isn't the place to be. a lot of it is geared towards much older women, so I didn't like any of the bridesmaid dresses I found, though there were some exquisite bridal gowns. however, there aren't too many people so you don't have to worry about waiting for service, which is a plus

This store did not give any customer satisfaction. I was helped while in the store and trying on dresses. But once my order was placed and the dress was paid for the customer service stopped. First of all I live four hours from the store so it is very important that I know when the dress is in so that I can go and pick it up. I finally called months after ordering my dress, only to find out that the dress had been in for a month and nobody had bothered to call. On top of that there was a footprint on my dress which I didn't find until getting it home. They would spot clean the footprint bud didn't bother to compensate for my four hour drive. Nor bother to put the dress into a garment bag. It was in a plastic bag. I spen $1400 dollars in t his store and would NEVER go back. I was also told any problems are NOT their problem. The dresses come directly from the manufacturer so it is the manufacturers fault. Then let me ask you this. Why buy from their store?

PROS: None
CONS: Inconsiderate, unsatisfactory service,

a couple months ago and bought my dress, veil and tiara. The dress I took home that day but it has been almost 7 weeks and I still haven't received my headpieces. I was told by the manager that she would follow up with the manufacturer and give me a call the following week. Well, NO call. Not only that, originally I made an appt to look at a specific dress I really wanted. I gave them the number and the maker when making the appt. I was told they had it in the store. When I arrived, they informed me it was sold. Couldn't they have called to let me know?
