I read about Ragin Cajun here on Citysearch and since my family is from New Orleans and I've grown up eating good cajun food, I decided to try it. I hate to have anything negative to say, but to say I was disappointed is an understatement.

Pros: staff friendly, bayou decor

Cons: food, prices for what you're getting

Being from south Louisiana I can honestly state that the food here is as authenic as cajun food comes. The atmosphere is down home with local Lafayette music playing in the backgound. The decorations on the wall reminded me of local places

Pros: everything is just as it should be

This is simple and authentic Cajun food at its best. I remember when they opened over 15 years ago and I am happy to say the quality has remained consistent. I make a point to eat here when I am back in town.

My favorites are the traditional eats such as Red Beans & Rice with sausage, Hush Puppies, and Shrimp Etouff.

The relaxed, beach atmosphere adds to the feeling of lounging on the Bayou. Great food at great prices.

Never understand why Cajun food just doesnt taste the same once it left the vicinity of Lafayette, LA. Who knows?! Perhaps the secret ingredient lies in the local water. However, if you were craving for authentic Cajun food in L. A.,

As my first experience with cajun food in the LA area, the Rajun Cajun brought Louisiana straight to my table from the very auromatic and delicious rice and beans to the nic-nac covered walls. It is a breath of fresh air away from the typical snooty LA resaurants. The food is delicious just be sure to have heartburn medicine if you attempt to taste any of the dozens of hot sauce varieties on the table. The servers are cute, too.

If you have a cajun craving there is NO better place to go. Very mellow, casual scene with great food and fun beer selections. Service wonderful, a South Bay MUST GO!
