I passed through Etna on a trip through Northern California. Etna is a very small mountain town that looks like a movie set from a Western. As there are only 3 restaurants, we ended up eating at Trailhead.

The owner is a Bay Area refugee and was very sweet. She makes an effort to make everyone feel at home. The food was pretty good. I had some potato dish with bacon and cheese. It was absolutely enormous. Think potato skins on steroids.

Overall, Trailhead fits the town really well and is definitely a decent place to stop if you are ever passing through Etna.

The Trailhead is a small family run restaurant which serves delicious home style cooking. It's a favorite of the locals here as the food is good and the prices are reasonable. The owner loves to mule pack into the local mountains and the decor reflects that love. A nice homey friendly atmosphere. I enjoy bringing out of town friends here to eat as it gives them a nice "feel" for our area.
