Pie'N Burger

These are without a doubt the best burgers in the world! It was definitely worth the trip. The waitresses were friendly, the place was clean, but a little pricey - $6.00 for a burger and parking a little ways away on Lake Avenue. But, that's okay! The food was delicious, especially the cherry pie a la mode!!

Order your cheeseburger with grilled onions and extra thousand. You will need all the extra napkins they automatically give you. A real mess if you're not careful...but worth the extra effort needed to successfully eat the VERY BEST CHEESEBURGER EVER. Don't go alone because you'll need someone to share that heaping side of fries with.

PROS: Food worth both waiting for and paying the price for in my opinion

Dont know about the food because they wouldnt seat us.
This place kinda creeped me out. My gf at the time and I went there once, we waited around for a good 5 mins and didnt get a seat. There were plenty of open tables.
It was very odd.
The whole time I was thiking of the black people who didnt get seated at Dennys
My ex gf and I are of the Asian persuasion

I've heard great things about Pie N Burger so I had to try it. My take? The burgers were good, but a bit pricey. $6.00 for your basic hamburger with lettuce and tomato seems a bit ridiculous to me since it doesn't come with any sort of side dish. Additionally, the decor was pretty tacky. Denny's anyone?

Pie N Burger has good food -- be prepared for an artery clog. However, I was surprised by their prices. For a whole in the wall place (that doesn't have the best atmosphere), their food isn't priced at typical diner prices.

I suppose for Pasadena it's OK, but for the same price, I'd rather go around the corner to Burger Continental.

I've eaten a lot of burgers in my day... Pie 'N Burger makes the BEST darned burgers on the planet. I've never had a better burger! The pie is excellent as well. My personal favorite is the Lemon Meringue. The meringue on that sucker nearly hits the ceiling!

When you come to this restaurant, a burger and slice of pie is a must, hence the restaurant's name. I love their juicy burgers and the apple pie is my favorite by far. This little restaurant in Pasadena always leaves me a big smile when I am eating.

I went to Pie-n-Burger expecting great food and cheap prices. It's one of those places that, from the outside, looks like your favorite burger joint--the place you want to hang out with all of your friends. It doesn't feel like you are in California when you go in there. The food was really good--I recommend the burgers and the pies, in fact. The prices were a little high considering that you could get the same thing somewhere else for cheaper. Maybe you pay for the experience of feeling like you're at your favorite dive. I'm not sure. I'll go there again but next time I'll expect to pay at least $10 for a main entree.

After reading the reviews for this place, I decided to come and try it out. Overall? eh... it's ok. The burgers were good, but I could get the same quality at In&Out for less cash. The fries were 3 bucks for a small plate. Then to top it off, if you order a soda, they make it "from scratch," which means that they put in the ice, put in some syrup, put in some carbonated water, then stir. You would think that this would make it nice and "old-fashioned diner" quality right? Wrong! Our particular server put in ALOT of syrup, ice, and then a "spritz" of carbonated water. Result: Flat coke.

You would think that a place called "Pie n burger" would have a great Chicken Pot pie, right? Wrong. Chicken tough, peas funny colored, and the whole meal was hot as Hades.

So I came back and had a couple of slices of their pies (the strawberry and boysenberry (i think) -- delicious! This moves my rating up one star. They use fresh fruit and pile it into their hot pies! Topped with whipped cream, this stuff rocks!

PROS: great dessert pies!
CONS: not so great in other areas

I haven't been here in awhile, but I used to go here a lot with an elderly relative.
The burgers are really good and they have great shakes. Real old fashioned with counter seating.
On the downside, they can have a long wait on the weekends.
On the upside, they also do catering. I had them cater my son's first birthday party and they did a great job.

PROS: Good food, do catering.
CONS: sometimes has a long wait.

There's a long wait on Sundays, but this is a great place to go for breakfast. If you eat meat, they have these super-thick slices of bacon that they cook to crisp perfection. But, if you're like me, you might just want to stick with the "pecan sticky roll", which is roughly the size of a basketball. Just tell them to leave the butter on the side, because they will otherwise put about a cup of butter on it (roughly one icecream scoop). It's a bit heavy.

The pies here are wonderful. You can definitely tell they are fresh. Pie n Burger has ruined me for anything other than homemade pies! As for the burgers and food here, it is all good but greasy.

Pie second to none. Limited menu, but everything is good. Good place for a late dinner &/or snack. Take out available.
