We recently ordered takeout. Got the Chicken Flautas which were TINY (i mean really really tiny- like a taquito) dry and flavorless, there were only 3 of them and they were $13. Seriously. We also got a Beef Burrito with "Grandma's Sauce". The beef was shredded because they don't even serve Carne Asada... what is mexican without asada? Despite that, the meat was at least moist but that was the ONLY thing inside the tortilla & the sauce tasted like it came from a poor cafeteria. Guacamole was fresh even if it had too much lime. The beans were from a can (or at least tasted like it). The chips were not homemade. The 3 salsas were: green - tomatillo-ish, cilantro, & a bit spicy, the best of the three; traditional red - tomato, onion and mush?, flavorless; & thicker red - which was ketchup with tabasco, and I challege someone to tell me it is different! Overall, these guys could spend a couple days in Southern California to at least get Mexican right. Disappointed.

Food : Tastes are fairly common, not exclusive. I thought the ""Grandma's"" dish I had was way over-priced for the sub-par taste-satisfaction it provided. \r\n\r\nAmbience : Decent. I have eaten in less pretentious surroundings. \r\n\r\nService : Fairly prompt. I don't care much for smiling waiters, but then I don't want them barking at me either. I felt one of the senior ones was overtly brusque. \r\n\r\n The restaurant had me wondering if it really is worth going back again for the experience. Competition is tough for restaurants in the Bay Area! - I wouldn't go back.

My family and I had been long time patrons of this restaurant and it used to be our favorite. We had been frequenting this restaurant since the mid 90's so you know this review is not the result of merely one bad experience. Service is so unbelievably terrible. Water refills and chips/salsa refills are next to impossible to get during your meal. It's almost as if you are purposely being ignored. I've heard several changes in management could possibly be the result of the drastic changes in service. I would not recommend them to ANYONE!

PROS:
CONS: Poor Service ~ Would NOT Recommend

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, prepared fresh, just like a Mexican Grandmother would make, then this is the place for you. \r\n\r\nIf you are looking for inexpensive Americanized Mexican fast food, then go to Taco Bell.\r\n\r\nThis place is for those who want the real thing. I was seated quickly, and the service was superb. The food was outstanding! Again this is not Taco Bell. They were very accomidating as well. I have dietary restrictions, which they adjusted for.\r\n\r\nYou can expect to spend around $25.00 per head for an entree, soft drink, tax, and a 20% tip. I did not have alcohol. \r\n\r\nThe atmosphere was just average, but I was there for the food.\r\n\r\nTry the house special. I don't remember the name, but it was chicken is a sour cream sauce. \r\n\r\nThe chips and salsa were great. \r\n\r\nIgnore the reviews from those who wanted a cheap Taco Bell meal.

Pros: Thumbs Up!

Cons: None that I can think of.

The food here is no better than any other place, the biggest con is - its expensive and you have to wait quite a long time to pay for this expensive food. Drinks arent cheap either.

exican food is my favorite, and La Fiesta is at the top of my list. Others in the Bay Area hardly come close to La Fiestas flavors and food quality. Sauces are the thing here. My particular favorite is the green sauce served on the Fiesta Burrito, a very flavorful vegetarian item. The interior ambiance is bright and cheerful, and I like the fact that their location has a 'secret hole in the wall' feel off the main restaurant row. I was dismayed to read some of the harsher reviews here. OK - here's the thing - their hosts and servers can be a little flakey sometimes, especially if you come during prime weekend dinner hours - that's when this popular place is always packed. If it's a weekend, I'll try to arrive before 6:30 or after 8:30, and at those times the service always seems to run quite smoothly.

Pros: great sauces, 4 salsas w/ chips, premium tequilas

Cons: occasional confusion

This is the BEST MARGARITA you'll have at a restaurant, and some of the best food in the area. Standouts are ""grandma's special chicken,"" ""chicken mole,"" and ""chili verde."" WOW is this stuff good! Can be a wait on a Friday or Saturday night, but worth it. Generally good service.

I have never seen such an expensive Mexican restaurant in my life. I don't think I would ever go back there because there are so many other, cheaper places around. Sorry, but it's not like Mexican food is gourmet or anything.\n\nOn a positive note, the decor is nice, the Sangria is very tasty, the chips are good, and the salsas (4) they bring are spicy. The Grandma's special was a unique dish but was ~$15. Burritos are $11!

I think it is evident that the people who own this restaurant do not wish to provide good service. \n\nWhen asked if there was ground beef available, I was shot back with a reply - ""No we don't.....but check out Taco Bell, they have it."" I received non-stop attitude after that.\n\nHey, it was a simple question and it seemed like I offended them. Like ground beef is not real mexican food or something?\n\nAnyways, the service was terrible, and food mediocre at best. There are better places in Mtn View.\n\nIf you want to drive, try out La Paloma in Santa Clara.\n\nIf you are the owner of the restaurant, email me. I would like to hear from you.
