Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant

This restaurant serves authentic Cantonese food...Peking duck is by definition from Peking (Beijing) and NOT Cantonese food. My family is from Hong Kong originally and this is one of our favorite local places...it's not fancy but a good place to go for solid home-cooking!

I went there recently and the service was excellent. Because of the service we left a generous tip.

However, we were going to order Peking Duck until we learned from the waiter that they only served one course for the Peking Duck.

I will try it again sometime and explore more of the menu.

I went to this resturant on 6/25/07 with my grandson, it was empty, one couple was leaving when we arrived. They sat us down and handed us menus to order. We ordered (egg rolls, walnut prawns, house fried rice and Yang chow mein. The waiters sat there staring at us like we were aliens. Next thing is a couple walks in and they served them vegetable apetizers and they were eating, mine you my grandson and I are waiting for our food. Umm I said to myself how come that couple is eating, how did they order so fast, we were here first. Our egg rolls come and we eat them all and our food starts to come out. In the meantime another oriental family walks in and they immediately serve them some of the vegetable appetizer.. So I ask, How come we didn't get to eat the vegetable appetizer.. he says we ordered egg rolls...I told him that was the wrong answer and the next time someone of color enters his resturant he better serve them the same way he has served all his patrons..I was pissed and left all the food that was cooked and paid for the egg rolls..I even gave them a 5 cent tip.. This was a blatant racist place to eat..Just out right racist.....

The closest to authentic Chinese food that I have eaten around Palo Alto. However, this restaurant is a well kept secret. I myself would have never tried it had it not been suggested by a friend of mine. The prices are as you would expect, with dishes ranging from $6-$10. I usually like to order Peking Spareribs. Hong Kong made this dish especially well. This place is unique because it is attached with a hotel/motel. It's a little small, but it does have table to hold big group meals. The service was also real good!

PROS: Good Service, Good Food, Fair Prices
CONS: Small Dining Room
