Whenever in SC I eat at Abe's and purchase a loaf of their rye bread to take back East.

I have never had better rye. Katz's Deli in NYC has the best pastrami (Abe's is close) but Katz's bread does not hold a candle to Abe's.

The food is good....just as good as Brents. And you don't have to put up with the long wait. The servers are great and once they know you it is like dining at home. Server Mary Jo is definately a character but a great server and a pleasure to be around. Dave, Cathy and Cheryl are also excellant servers and if you don't like them you might want to evaluate your own personality.

After eating here for over 25 years, I have experienced Abe??s at the top of its game to the shambles it??s in now. The food is mediocre and the owner is rude and shows no accountability over the quality of food or quality of the experience in the restaurant. I am ashamed with what she has done with her legacy.

It really doesn??t matter what you order, you can expect rude impatient servers and second class food. To top it off, take your napkin and wipe the table you??re sitting at, you too will be shocked with how dirty the tables are. One can only imagine what the kitchen looks like.

You will get a better meal at Denny??s for a lot less money or spend 10% more and go to Brent??s Deli for the real deal deli experience with amazing food, outstanding service and owners who REALLY do care.

My closing thoughts? I??m sad and I just can??t continue to spend my hard earned money paying someone else??s bills that lacks integrity, accountability & concerns for their customers.

I've ordered take out from here on several occasions, and I have never been disappointed with the food or the service. Their corned beef and philly cheesesteak sandwiches are two of my favorites. The restuarant does get crowded during lunch hours and on the weekends, so there can be a wait. The prices did seem a little high for sandwiches, but they are tasty! I've never comparison priced other deli's, so not sure how comparable Abe's prices are.

The food here is okay. I prefer to go to Brent's Deli if I am looking for Deli food. The food here seems a little on the expensive side for what you get.

Abes deli is great. Their food is a step above the other local jewish deli's. Service is pretty good and they deliver as well. Their salads are unbelievably huge.

We sometimes have lunch here when we are in the Northridge area. The portions are very large, but the prices also reflect the portion size. Service is hit and miss. They have many servers and customers that have been there a long time, and frequently their conversations inhibit fast service for others around them. It's easy to split an order, the menu choices are widely varied.

The food is great, the service is terrible. The servers sit and kick it with the customers that are apparently their friends and forget about their other customers. Food is good I'll keep going back, but I'll expect to be ignored by the servers.

I ordered the cinnamon roll french toast, and they served me a charred piece of garbage. As a rule, I don't return food since you never know what they'll send you back. You would think they would be embarrassed to even let food that is so burnt even leave the kitchen, but nevertheless they served it to me anyway. If you want good delicatessen style food in the San Fernando Valley, go to Brent's or Weiller's instead; I've never been dissapointed by either of those. I seriously wish I could un-eat breakfast, and it makes me angry to think that I spent a single dime on their awful food.

Pros: Can't think of any.

Cons: Disgusting food.

i've been to most of the deli's in and around town, and when i was told to try Abe's I was skeptical - mostly because of the drive to Northridge. The pastrami was juicy, hot, and not overly fatty. The bread was firm and robust with flavor. The slaw had a nice zest to it. My cohort had a club sandwich that was overflowing with turkey, thick smoked bacon, sprouts, avocado and beefsteak tomatoes. The turkey could have been a bit moister, but was tasty anyhow. The service was attentive without being bothersome. Pumpkin pie was okay. Meat for meat, Abes came out the winner. Soup to dessert for two will run you about $45 and leave you wishing youd not attempted finishing the second half of the sandwich.

Looking for a deli..well Abe's is good, but not great. The portions are large enough to share, but the prices are a bit high. Their menu is filled with different choices.

If a deli can not even serve a decent pastrami sandwich it should close the doors. The french roll it came on was not evn french. The pastrami had good flavor but was luke-warm at best after waiting 30 minutes in a non-crowded place with no atmosphere at all. The slaw was good but the french fries were over-cooked. The service sucked and I will never go back.
