5 Stars: Lovely store, everyone very helpful! (by Ruth S.)

I flew from Arizona to Los Angeles looking for a bridal gown, checked out several bridal salons in LA. I was hesitant to go to Downtown, didn't think will find any designer gowns.

BOY WAS I WRONG!!! Ibex carries all brands. What a selection! I did not have to go anywhere else. I ordered my gown, accessories, bridesmaids, my mom's and maid of honor gowns. I loved working with Nara, my sales consultant. My gown has already arrived and being altered.

Save yourself lots of time and aslo save few hundreds.

CHECK THEM OUT!

5 Stars: Ibex did a fantastic job (by Jennifer M.)

Wow, I am finally done. My wedding was 2 weeks ago. I started looking two and a half months ago. Time was very short. I tried with few salons they all said it was too late to order. I drove to downtown LA and ended up at Ibex. I am telling you, this salon is the one that all the brides should go to shop. Everything was very precise and as promised. Everyone knew their job. They spent a lot of time with me until I said "yes to the dress". They carry top of the line brands, and the prices are very reasonable. It's not a very fancy store but the merchandise they carry is very exclusive. Anyway, my master seamstress fit the gown on me like a glove. I am size 0 and have 4'8 height. Well, you guys, I would highly recommend them as a legitimate bridal salon. By the way, I asked them about the bad reviews on this website, and the manager told me that they had only few bad reviews per year, which is not that bad. Also, most of those bad reviews were written by their competitors.
So overall, I had a great experience.

4 Stars: Ibex (by Lourdes W.)

I just ordered my dress there yesterday and browsed through the net to see the reviews about the place and saw all these negative comments...kinda scary but my experience yesterday was pretty alright actually. I work with international Doctors from the middle east so the whole "way they talk" to you maybe due to just how they are from where they come from. Thankfully the staff were not rude to me at all. And yes, it may not be your typical bridal salon you see in TV but it is in downtown LA. Anyways, my gown will be arriving in April so I'm pretty stoked and they gave me a great discount I couldn't pass. As for the binders, they freely let me look at pretty much all them...five of them i believe. I looked through them even though I already knew what I wanted. Also, Pronovias.com has them in the lists of where you can purchase their dresses so I'm pretty sure that means something. *shrugs. Oh, and I also looked at BBB just to confirm and I didn't see anything negative. As for the contract you sign, its pretty self explanatory. They even made me sign the picture of the dress so to prevent any mistakes. So all in all I'm staying positive despite the negative comments and looking forward to receiving my dress next year. :)
I give them only 4 stars because of limited parking and the place where you try on your dress isn't private. Other than that they were great.

1 Stars: IBEX SCAM (by Rosig B.)

My future daughter in law and i went to Ibex excited to find both our dresses! We were MANIPULATED and PRESSUREED into OVERPAYING for both. Our dresses arrived at different times. Mine was too low, and i was convinced to let them alter it-for an ADDITIONAL $100-which I knew was too much but I thought, based on their claims, that they would be experts in altering the dresses they sold. When I went to pick it up, it had been BUTCHERED! Instead of apologizing and fixing their mistake, they told me they would only fix it if I paid an ADDITIONAL $200!!! They were rude and nasty when I said I would take the dress elsewhere in hopes that someone would be able to fix the dress.
The bride's dress needed to be taken in from the back. When the came in with the alterations that we paid an additional $450, it was not only not done properly but it was clear that they had INTENTIONALLY let-out the dress in places that previously fit well and there were additional seams that had not originally been part of the dress. They tired to convice her to pay them to fix it!
Through their FRAUDULENT alterations, they STOLE our money and left us both with UNWEARABLE dresses. After paying OVER $6,000 in total, we need to start the process again in order to find dresses for the upcoming weddinng.
I would never recommend ibex because they INTENTIONALLY PREY on those who rely on their expertise and experience.

5 Stars: ORDERED MY DREAM GOWN AT IBEX AND VERY SATISFIED! (by Sandra P.)

Yes, Ibex came through, I loved the whole experience.
Before I started looking for my gown I checked few of the bridal salons' websites. Then I looked at their reviews. Yes I very nervous. Finally my aunt recommended that I should visit IBEX. I went down with my maid of honor. We were both so impressed with their collection that decided to do the order the same day.
The sales lady was excellent, helped me in every way possible with all the details.
Now I am in my honeymoon and still remember how great I looked at the wedding night.

3 Stars: i had a nice experience at IBEX.... (by Christine C.)

My wedding is in 2 months, I waited a little longer then recommend so I was nervous going in for a consultation. I walked in, met Nora and I was taken care of right away by the friendly staff. I was given different books to look at and pick the ones I wanted to try on. Nora said she would make a deal with me, I could try on my dresses if I tried on one that she picked. To my surprise I walked out buying the very dress she picked out for me. It wasnt what I envisioned for myself, but it looked the best for my body type and it shocked me how much I loved it. You will really get an honest opinion. I walked out with a dress and my bridesmaids dress too. Thank you Nora for taking care of me and making everything work out. P.S. They pulled some strings and I will get my dress in time plus they gave me a discount. I am excited to see what my first fitting will be like.

1 Stars: Wouldn't recommend this store. (by Minh T.)

I went to visit this store after reading the reviews on here. It was just how everyone described. I was not planning to buy a dress, I just wanted to check up on their service and the type of dresses they have. Upon arrival, a mean man asked if we had an appointment and I let him know that I called and a lady said that I didn't need an appointment (she was very rude on the phone btw). Anyway, he asked me what type of dresses I wanted, gave me 3 binders of dresses and 5 paper tabs to mark which ones I liked. He didn't want me to try more than 5 dresses on. He also said that their "Anniversary Sale" was ending today. While trying on my dresses in a NASTY, crappy, dirty dressing room, I did notice that the dresses had no tags. I asked what brand they were, but the sales lady pretended not to hear. She was one of the nicer sales ladies there. After trying on 5 dresses, we asked if we could try on more, but she said the owner doesn't like women to try on more than 5. Is he trying to make a sale? I don't understand their business sense. So, I walked to the front and told them to write the style number down and I would return with my fiance. I asked if they could compromise on the price, but she said no. But she did mention that "Don't worry about the anniversary sale because the price will always stay the same" insinuating that the sale is FAKE. I believe the sales lady is new and nice, but the whole business is a scam. The sales lady also said that the owner has many gown binders, but he only lets people see 3 of them. SHADY BUSINESS. Don't get your gown here, you'd have a better experience somewhere else. Hope this helps.

4 Stars: So far Satisfied (by Melissa S.)

Hi,I'm a customer of Ibex Bridal. I must say that so far my experience has not been like the other reviews, thank goodness. I have a really short engagement and other bridal stores were not as flexible as ibex. I ordered a beautiful dress and was nervous because it is coming in so close to my wedding date. Thankfully my dress came in early and I am going in for a fitting this Saturday. This store was recommended to me by a friend who also had a positive experience. I don't remember if the tags were ripped out or not but I do remember them telling me that I need to order that day or else my dress won't come in on time. I believed them because that is what every bridal shop I visited told me. I will keep you posted on the rest of my experience, I pray it's a good one!

1 Stars: Dishonest Folks - Save the Headache (by Jen B.)

Terrible Store. They lie about their "designer" dresses. They sued me - and I happily went to court well prepared to fight these crooks and WON the case they filed against me. Please beware. Buying your wedding gown should be the happiest and one of the most memorable experiences in your life. Should you decide to buy from Ibex, I can promise you it will be a nightmare. They buy the dresses wholesale from the designers at their wholesale price, rip out the designer tag, then sell you the dress for double the retail cost. Take it from me, do your homework and go to a reputable bridal salon.

1 Stars: # 1 Cheating Bridal Store (by Rachel W.)

First of all, they are the BIGGEST cheaters in the bridal store industry. They lie to everyone to sell their dresses. They take dress orders and order a bigger size, so you can do alterations there, even though you are a size 6 they make you buy a 10 , afterwords, they try to sell you OLD ripped Vail's, and missing stoned tiara's. The dresses DO NOT have any tags, and the sales lady cant even know the difference between taffeta and silk or satin. When you tell them that you have a few other stores to go to, they tell you DON'T GO< Every store buys and orders from us. BULL #$@! They even start talking trash about other stores, in front of you, so this tells you that their the ones who are Charters, all the good reviews you see are written by their family members, and employees. There are a handful of people you go and write good reviews. I suggest you be aware before going there, because the OWNER is known as a LIAR and a CHEAT...Thank god I got my dress from somewhere else, I love my dress and everything else.. BEWARE OF IBEX : X

1 Stars: OMG (by V v.)

Thank you all for your help. I'm so sorry all these bad things happend to everyone. I should have listened to my gut. I too paid for my deposit cause it was the last day of the sale!! 1200 dollar dress but it woluld go up to 2000. Beautiful dress but I think I'll say good bye to the deposit and save myself some heart ache after reading these reviews. The good reviews are so obviously the store. The scary part is they told me the would only accept cash from me and that I would have to go to in the store to pay monthly!! I am not taking my chances. Thank you all. Too bad my dress was beautiful!

1 Stars: LIARS - CHEATERS AND CROOKS!!!! (by DENISE W.)

Stop - Do Not buy anything from these people. First, they tell you while you are trying on the dress that the dress is on sale TODAY ONLY - and if you DON'T BUY TODAY - THE PRICE WILL DOUBLE. Then they lie and tell you can pay for the dress for however long you want. Then AFTER you leave the deposit and finish the transaction they say you MUST PAY IN 4 MONTHS. WITH THE FIRST PAYMENT DUE IN 3 WEEKS??? THE WORST PART IS THEY LIE and tell you that these gowns are from some fake designer named La Rouge and even have the nerve to put it on your receipt using the stock number of an Allure's Wedding Gown Design. YOU WILL NEVER FIND THIS DESIGNER ON THE NET. THEY DON'T EXIST. What does exist is their shady business practices. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.

1 Stars: *******STAY AWAY FROM IBEX************ (by Martha D.)

If you pay attention almost all the negative reviews are similar and that is the tactic this store uses on all customers. I experienced it first hand and yes ladies it is true. They tear off the tags and lie about who the designers are and try to sell you gowns at double the price. When you try to bring things to their attention they get very irate and verbally abusive towards customers. The man behind the counter pretends to call the owner on the phone and get you a good deal that is only good for that day and then requires a non refundable deposit and signing of a contract. It's funny how after most negative reviews all of a sudden you see a good one???? I'm sure that most of the positive reviews you see on here and other websites are written by Ibex employees since I saw a list of all websites printed and accidentally left near the counter the second time I was there (funny). If you think about it most people don't bother writing reviews unless they are negative and they are upset about a bad experience they had. Don't become another victim because there are many other reputable bridal stores, save yourself the time and money. Don't make the same mistake I made. Good Luck!!

5 Stars: Hear it from an old timer ! (by Jessica R.)

I have been a bridal consultant for the past 30 years, have done many- many weddings. Just last year my own daughter got engaged and I took her to few of my favorite salons. Finally we end up buying the gown from IBEX. She loved the whole experience. The gown was absolutely gorgeous, very well priced. I could not help looking through other commentaries about IBEX. I used to work in a reputable dept. store selling bridal gowns. It is outrageous to see some of the brides turning into bridzilas when they cannot get their way. It is unfortunate that some of their unfair statements cannot be responded by the retailer. My advise to you in order for you to dig up some unbiased opinion about a salon, is to contact Better Business Bureau for latest ratings for every salon. I have been buying gowns from IBEX for my clients on and off for the past 10 years. I highly recommend this operation to every bride. Go down there and see for yourself.

1 Stars: Stay Away...For your own Sanity!!! (by Erin R.)

I wish I would have seen these reviews before I spent my hard earned $$ in this place. Not only was I lied to about the DESIGNER, I found out that the price of the gown was doubled. I don't know how these people sleep at night. I should have known after the "Get the dress now so you get the sale price" hoopla! Bullcrap! Not only could I not find my "La Rouge" gown to save my life via google search, I found out that the dress is actually designed by Allure! Im sure brides out there can find better honest service elsewhere. I sure did, I chose to bite the bullet, and say "screw my deposit" these people aren't getting ONE more red cent from me!

2 Stars: Small Box ... (by Angie E.)

I ordered my wedding dress from IBEX, and I agree with the majority of postings I have read on this website. The customer service wasn't entirely the best, but I think that's what you can expect from a bridal store in downtown LA. I think IBEX had a nice selection of dresses, especially Allure bridal dresses. Although they do remove the tags from their dresses, I knew my dress was an Allure bridal dress b/c I tried on the exact same dress at a bridal store in Orange County called Mon Amie. Mon Amie had wonderful customer service and a wonderful salon, but the same dress was $1000.00 more than the one at IBEX.

I, too, met with Nara, who was nice to both me and my mother. She also told us that we were "lucky" to have made it on the "last day of their anniversary sale."

I ended up buying the dress, which I love. It is a beautiful dress, but I must tell you ... came in a box smaller than a peanut. It was horrifying to receive a rather large gown in a box that was about 2-3 inches wide. It was crammed in this box, and we couldn't believe it. The dress also had some small black marks on the bodice that look like small ink stains.

I am uncertain if the dress is actually an Allure gown or some knock off that they sent to me. The dress has no tag in it, so it is impossible to tell if it is a used gown or an Allure gown, but it does look like it is the Allure gown. I should point out that it came directly from IBEX in the small box and IBEX dress bag. I'm wondering why it wouldn't come from Allure directly ...

So, if you are interested in nice customer service ... STAY AWAY!!!

3 Stars: All i can do is laugh (by karolin K.)

Yes, it's true ladies. I was told that the name of my dress is La Rouge and i could not find the designer anywhere. I so happened to stumble across this site and what da ya know. Someone said that IBEX removes the labels. Well i searched every dress on the KNOT until I found my dress. My dress is made by ALLURE Bridals.

I was too told about the anniversary sale and yes I had to get it. Wanna know how much my dress really is on line? $799. Wanna know how much they charged me?? 1,600. Guess what? I'm still paying on the dress. :) (Ha- Ha)

Like I said All I can do is laugh.

Yes maybe some people are a bit harsh in their remarks, but they are telling the truth. As a bride we all expect some of that "Pretty Woman" sucking up to or attention right? Well it's not quite that way at IBEX.

Nevertheless I am so glad that I really really and I mean really like this dress or I might have been really mad!!

Oh well guess I'll go make another payment this week!! (Ha-Ha)

1 Stars: Wow (by Christine M.)

I was going to actually make an appointment soon to get my gown, 4 bridesmaids dresses, and flower girls dresses from there but I'm so scared to even walk into the store now. Thanks to you who left honest reviews, you saved me my precious time. By the way why doesn't someone file a claim with the better business bureau especially to the people who said they ordered dresses and took them to small claims court without even telling them they'll order the dress AND for them claiming there's a sale when there isn't.

1 Stars: I didn't buy my dress here... thank goodness! (by Joann C.)

I knew what dresses I wanted to try on, but had a hard time finding them at the stores because they were part of the designers' newest spring line. When I called Ibex, they claimed that they carried every single dress from the 2 designers I mentioned and to come in and take a look. (Lie #1). They did have 1 of the dresses I was looking for, but not 2 of the ones I really wanted to try on, stating that they had sent them to some Las Vegas fashion show. (Lie #2). I ended up loving 1 of the dresses I tried on, and was then told that they were having an anniversary sale that was ending in 2 days. (Lie #3). So the dress would go up by $300 if I didn't buy it during the sale. (Lie #4). Later, I was told that the price of the dress would actually double. (Lie #5). Then I was told that I had to rush order the dress for an extra $120 or else it wouldn't arrive until after my wedding date. (Lie #5). How do I know these were all lies? 2 hours later, I ended up ordering the dress from another bridal shop, and was able to get it for $150 less than Ibex's "sale" price, and the dress is set to arrive a month before my wedding date without having to rush order it. I have to mention that I had read the citysearch reviews before I went to Ibex, which was what made me very weary of the game they play there. And, when I first got there, I observed a man behind the counter (presumably the owner) cursing at a customer who was trying to pick up her purchase, and then later snapping very rudely at his own sales person, all in front of customers. They also try to make sure you can't find out the designer of the dresses you try on so that you can't find it elsewhere for less. They literally rip out the tags from the dresses! Take it from my objective viewpoint: I'm not a bitter bride who got screwed after buying my dress here. I am one of the lucky ones who high tailed it out of there! They do not have the brides' interests in mind... so avoid this place!

1 Stars: Thank you for the honest reviews (by Yuki K.)

Hi Ladies,

Thanks so much for your reviews. I was going to go to their store to look at their dresses just because their quoted prices were lower than the other boutiques.

However, I had second thought because I didn't like the customer service that I received on the phone. The lady was rude and dry. I wasn't sure if I want to purchase my wedding gown from someone like that. I decided to see if I could find some reviews out there about their store. Thank you to all of you who posted your HONEST reviews. I am now certain that I will not even step foot into their store.

1 Stars: Dress Nightmare (by Pat M.)

Please BEWARE of this bridal shop!
I purchased my wedding gown here and was promised a "discount" if my bridesmaids purchased here as well. I never saw the discount!

My seamstress made a hem mistake on my dress-it was inches higher in front of the dress and not level all the way around...

My sister purchased her dress here-she had a awful time getting the dress altered to her size, they PROMISED they would fix the dress-in the end it they didn't do anything to make the dress better.

The dressing rooms are filthy, cluttered, poor lighting, not in a private location. The seamstress even threw my dress on their filthy stained carpet and told me that it was o.k. MY WHITE DRESS!!! She didn't even wear any gloves or anything...the OWNER is rude to other clients...I hear him say to a heavy set woman that she was much too large to wear a type of dress she wanted...Needless to say I DO NOT RECOMMEND this location! They even have a sign saying that ABC 7 news reviewed their boutique and won an award! HA!! I doubt that very much...maybe 30 years ago...

1 Stars: So far a dissapointment (by Candy A.)

After going to 4 boutiques, I ended up at Ibex Bridal. I did find a dress I loved. That day I decided to buy and put my deposit. The customer service was nothing like the treatment at the other boutiques but nevertheless, I liked the dress and bought it. However, 3 days later I started having the jitters, but I knew the contract said no cancelation. So, I decided to go over and try on the dress again just to get piece of mind and remind myself why I chose the dress. I was very surprised by the horrible customer service. I could not believe that after paying $1800 for a dress, they wanted to charge me $50 to try on the dress I bought. I refused to pay but either way apparently the dress was not available to even look at because it was off to a show. They were not welcoming, looked at me like I was from another planet just because I wanted to see the dress again. A month later, my mother came in from out of town and she wanted to take a look at my dress so we headed over to Ibex again (btw, when you call they say no appt. needed on weekdays). I did not have my receipt so they refused to look for my file to see what dress I ordered and refused to show it to me! I don't care if a dress is 75% discounted, nothing is worth the horrible experience of what is supposed to be a brides most important element of her wedding. I regret buying my dress and I had the same experience as another rater, when I bought my dress they said it was the LAST day of the anniversary sale and when I went back 3 days later they still had the sale. I felt cheated and manipulated. My dress will be ready in a few months, I wonder how that will go? The worst part is I cannot even put a complaint because the person in charge has the worst customer service I have ever seen. So ladies out there, don't let this happen to you. I wish I had read some of the reviews prior to buying my dress. I learned my lesson!

I really cannot understand all these negative words about IBEX. Maybe somebody has something personal against them?I am the third sister who bought her dress from IBEX. My sister bought her dress 8 years ago. The staff is as pleasant and the service is as perfect as it was 8 years ago. Professional sales people, nice atmosphere, no verbal promises, everything is written down in your contract. Gown arrived on time and they even made arrangements for my alterations.

1 Stars: FRAUDULENT - PLEASE AVOID! (by Jessica N.)

See the post from Sannon C below. The EXACT same thing happened to me - they ordered the dress without my permission!!!

PSA to all users: I would be wary of all of the posts on here that are in all capital letters and broken English. The people who own and run this shop are always talking about how they've been in business for 20 years and it doesnt make sense that somebody who actually bought something from the store would make a point of stating that the store has been in business for 20 years. Additionally, without sounding bigotted, English is not the first language of anyone who works there, so the broken English in the all caps posts makes sense. I make this point only to show that the posts most likely come from a store affiliate and is in no way meant to sound hateful. Also, please notice that they Vicki S. Rosa N and Lucy J all posted something, in all capital letters all on the same day! And they all had nice things to say about the store! What a coincidence! These were most likely accounts that were set up in order to make them look like a legitimate, honest business - unfortunately they are not. I ran a search of the LA County Small Claims court and they have sued well over 100 people in the past year or so. I've also heard horrible horror stories about this place on a local wedding chat board - which I'm not going to mention because these people will undoubtedly infest that board too to try to build up there reputation - I would like to keep that board honest. My guess is that a post from these people will appear above this one most likely commenting on what Ive said - which will of course prove my point.

5 Stars: Spectacular gowns at affordable prices! (by Debbie D.)

Ibex offers an incredible selection of high quality gowns just like you see in the bridal magazines! My daughter found the wedding dress of her dreams there, and the knowledgeable staff helped her pick out a complimentary veil and tiara. They only required a deposit to place the order rather than paying the full cost of the gown up front, and the dress actually arrived 3 weeks sooner than we expected! The store policies are no different than other bridal shops, such as scheduling hour-long appointments, and allowing customers to try on 5 gowns at a time, but we didn't even have an appointment, yet they were quite flexible and helpful. I would definitely recommend this shop to any bride looking for quality gowns at an affordable price.

PROS: selection, quality, customer service, reliability
CONS: inconvenient parking

1 Stars: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.... (by Shannon C.)

I stopped at Ibex on a recent trip to downtown LA. The first thing I noticed about the shop is that all the labels are ripped out of the gowns so customers are not able to tell who the designer is, which by the way is illegal and a violation of federal law. I happened to stop here during their "anniversary sale" where they claimed many dresses where half off. In reality they inflate their prices ($2000) and then claim to give you a discount when the discounted rate is the regular price($900). I did find a dress that I liked, but when I asked who it was designed by I was given a ficticious name. I told the owner that I wanted to bring my maid of honor to see it to get a second opinion and was told that the last day of the "sale" was tomarrow and that in order to receive the "sale price I would have to leave a "small amount". Come to find out that a few weeks later they had orderd the dress, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, WITHOUT THE CORRECT COLOR, OR CORRECT SIZE! Every other bridal shop that I have visited require a 50% deposit of the price. But they odered it when I just left $50 to HOLD THE "SALE" PRICE. I never received a call telling me they were going to order the dress and never took my measurements. The next call I received from them was to demand full payment for the dress that I NEVER ORDERED. I was threatened by thier workers saying that I would be sent to collections and sued civily if I didnt pay them. When I called to speak to a manager I was hung up on. Take a lesson from me...RUN DONT WALK AWAY FROM IBEX BRIDAL. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS AND WILL TRY TO DEFRAUD YOU!!

PROS: None
CONS: FRADULENT and ILLEGAL activties, Bad BBB rating

1 Stars: DO NOT PURCHASE your Wedding Dress or Bride's Maid Dresses at IBEX (by Isabel M.)

I ordered my wedding dress, petticoat and 3 bride's maid dresses at Ibex. The bride's maid dresses were suppose to be a wine/burgundy color & instead, i recieved 3 dresses that were HOT PINK!!! They insisted that, THAT was the color I ordered, until I proved them wrong by later taking them my receipt. I completely paid EVERYTHING off and still have not picked up my items. I changed my mind on the petticoat, and requested a refund, and they refuse to give me my money back. I have never even taken the item out the store!! I should be able to change my mind if I dont want an item. The item I purchased has NEVER EVEN LEFT THE STORE! What ever happened to customer service! DO NOT RISK IT, DONT BUY AT IBEX BRIDAL & TUXEDO CENTER in Los Angeles, it's for your own good.
