it is good enough that i decided to write my first review. We have been getting dinner here for about 6 years now. My entire family loves the chicken tikamasala. The sikh kabobs are GREAT but too hot for my wife...but my dad and brother love them. Ive never been there for lunch but this is a great place for dinner. oh and the nan is so damn good!!! (onion & garlic are my favs )

When i get take out my kids love to watch the cooks work through the small window behind the cashier.

Ratings_icons Best Indian Restaurant in Town!

pareil

Royal Taj is one of my all time favorite restaurants and a great place to bring friends and family. The food is always consistent, the bread (garlic naan, onion kulcha) the Navratan Koorma, Chicken Tikka, Sag Paneer are all to be recommended. I usually rate indian restaurants on how well they do these and for the price and quality Royal Taj is easily the best in town. Even the atmosphere (though not anything to write home about) grows on you over time due to its lack of pretentiousness. Believe me you won't be thinking about the surroundings when you take your first bite.

Ratings_icons Worst Indian Food I've ever tasted!!

The restaurant itself is very tacky looking inside, they need to renovate & keep it clean! I only picked up an order of Samosas today, but by looking at the buffet bar it seems they didn't have a very appealing menu anyways! The meat in the samosas were DRY as heck, & the dough was tough! Never again will I order from there!!

This is the worst Indian restaraunt I have ever been to. My stomach is still turning 3 hours later. Maybe they posted there own good reviews because this place is disgusting. I love indian food too. Also they are very unfriendy and do not seem like they put any good karma (to use an Indian term) into their food. I will never go back. You'd be waisting your time and money to go to this dump.

Ratings_icons Best India Food anywhere!

wannawow

I've been eating at Royal Taj since high school (1987). I've always loved the food, especially the Navratan Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Chai Tea. All are fantastic. The lunch buffet is top notch, not watered down versions of the main menu. All the guys there are great too, very good, friendly service.

What I travel, I visit every Indian place I can find just to compare, and nothing comes close Royal Taj.

Pros: Tasty selections, fun staff

Cons: Not a fancy place

This Indian resturant has been a favorite of mine since I was a toddler. The food is excellent, the employees are friendly, and the food is the best Indian I have ever had! I reccomend the Chicken Tikka Masala and the naan bread. For a realy amazing value pick up takeout from the lunch buffet and reheat it for a delicious dinner. (The Chicken Tikka Masala is always on Friday's luch buffet menu).

Pros: Great Value, Amazing Food, Fast Service

Loved the food - especially the samosas and tandoori. The best naan I have ever eaten. The staff were really nice to our two small kids too - who also thought the (milder) food was great. Good prices - there is one better Indian restaurant in Sunnyvale but it is far more expensive. This is the best value Indian restaurant I have had since being in the valley - 3 years. Lacking in atmosphere, though who cares when you are busy eating this terrific food.
