Salon 401

I used to live in L.A. but now I live in San Diego and "still" drive up to see Joe and get my hair done from time to time. The salon personnel are always so friendly, and Joe consistently does a fabulous job!

Can't wait to re-visit the salon this Saturday!

Ive been going to Danyel for almost 5 years for cuts, color, blow outs and most recently the Brazilian Blowout (i hate my curly and frizzy hair!) I constantly receive compliments on my hair and refer everyone I know to her. She gives the BEST scalp massages. Danyel is personable, funny and always remembers whats going on in my life. She recently moved to Salon 401 and I followed her from a salon in La Crescenta. If your looking for someone who really understands what you want I highly recommend her.

I haven't had a hair cut in ages because the last time I had it cut I asked for it to be cut 3 inch. The chick cut over 7 inches. I was so upset. So I didn't really trust anyone after that. Who would... right? So a close friend of mine recommend Heather. Truthful, At first I was a little scared cause I didn't know her but after it was all said and done it looked fab. Absolute loved it. Thank you much Heather, you did a great job. You have gained my trust. I will continue to recommend you. You were such a sweet heart.

I've been going to Joe for over 15 years now. He's undone a few of my home job mistakes. Always great color and a fabulous cut. He's great with discussing different haircuts out of the magazines and letting you know why they will or will not work for you. And Henriett will give you the best shampoo ever! It totally includes a mini head massage.

This is a great place! I had my color and high lights done last week and it looked amazing!! I would recommend Heather to anyone going there, she is excellent and very personable! I won't go anywhere else!

I have been going to Joe at Salon 401 for about 7 years now. He has never let me down. He's also very honest and has a great attitude. His rates are extremely reasonable given his level of experience - believe me, I've paid a whole lot more for a whole lot less and Joe even fixed a big hair disaster when I went to another place to save time. The atmosphere at the salon is always friendly and laid back. I moved about 50 miles from Arcadia and still travel just to keep him as my hair stylist. You can't go wrong with this salon.

salon 401 truly is a great place, I was leary of going to a new place, because i have been a regular customer at another local salon for many year's, However a friend started going to heather after another one of her's had gone to her and had a great experience, so i decided to try her and I was very pleased. The atmosphere was relaxing and all the stylist were very nice, I can't really say it's the cheapest salon in town, but being in sales I know the better product usally is'nt the cheapest one. salon 401 has my business.

I called Salon 401 after reading the reviews and I was scheduled with Heather for highlights and a root touch up, as well as a trim. The place was very comfortable and friendly not intimidating, which some places can be.

I decided to go to Salon 401 after reading reviews about it online. I was a little bit scared since I don't normally pick my hairstylists off the internet, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Nicole was the one who did my hair, and she was absolutely fabulous! I'm horrible at articulating how I want my hair cut, but she understood exactly what I was trying to describe and cut it exactly how I wanted it. I had gotten a horrible haircut a few months previously (from another salon) which she was able to remedy. She did a great job hilighting my hair, and was able to get it at a perfect shade (cool blonde, as opposed to a warm blonde which looks awful on me). Everyone there was extremely friendly. The salon was in a nice area and was kept well. Everyone who walked out of there looked wonderful. It wasn't even as expensive as I thought it would be. If you're looking for a good place to get your hair cut and/or colored, I would highly recommend Salon 401.

I absolutely love Salon 401. I came to the salon in a moment of desperation when I had a horrible hair color. Joe was fabulous and immediately fixed another salon??s unforgivable mistake. I was sold on Salon 401 immediately. Joe suggested that I meet with Ali who has been my hairstylist for over a year and half now. She is an amazing hairstylist that listens to her clients needs. She always makes herself available and gives great advice to clients. I am so happy to have found a terrific hairstylist!

Nicole cut and highlighted my hair and when I left the salon I felt like a new woman! Nicole is very talented and I felt like she really took the time to understand exactly what type of style I wanted. The haircut and highlights were perfect and the price was very reasonable. I have gotten many compliments on my hair since my visit to Salon 401 and I plan on going back. I have referred several family members and friends to Nicole since and they all agree that she is exceptional!

Going to Ali was one of the best decisions I've ever made for my hair. She created a color that was beautiful and unique to fit my style and hair. I constantly get both men and women asking me what my hair color is and where they can buy it, or get it done. Its amazing. i love it. I go back almost every month. Thank you so much Ali!

I went to Salon 401 on the recommendation of a friend and met Nicole. I had the same hair style for the last 18 months or so and was ready to try something new. I got a totally new style and neat highlights. I am totally going back. Thank you Nicole.

I recently called to make an appointment with Megan, who is great! Person who answered the phone advised me that Megan would not be in on the day I wanted. This person was not helpful at all and sounded like she did not want to be there.

Megan has been doing my hair for over a year now and I love her! Like I've told her before " I feel like we're in a relationship. I don't wanna loose you!" By the way Megan I didn't know you and Ali changed professions from hair stylist to therapist. NOT! This is a fun hair salon with great people! But if you need UNDIVIDED ATTENTION you probably should look else where.(maybe a therapist) I highly recommend Salon 401! You will not be disappointed.

I just got my hair done by Megan at salon 401 and it was so great. I had only been to her one other time and she remembered me and things we talked about last time. What great service! Everyone in the salon seemed to be having fun and it was a great environment. The prices are great. I left my old salon because the service and price was much better at salon 401. I look great and it didn't cost a fortune.

PROS: Friendly staff. Light, fun environment.
CONS: I couldn't spend all day there!!

Hello Allycin,I have to say that you did a great job on my hair cut. My husband and I both loved it and I will be going back for all my hairstyles. In that past you did a color job on my hair and I loved that also. I recommend everyone get there hair done by you. I also wanted to let you know that your assistant is so nice and she did a great job on washing my hair. I was so relaxed.Thanks, Nena D

It appears some customers are only out to put other people down. Rather than talking to their stylists about their cut they are allegedly unhappy with, they choose to be immature and post untrue horrible ratings. Very very sad they have nothing better to do in their life. I myself enjoy each time I go to Salon 401 and would not go anywhere else. You guys are the best, don't let childish people put you down.

I recently had my hair cut by Ally. She did a great job, I was happy with the results and I plan on going back. She asked me alot of questions about what I did and did not like about past hairstylists. She is friendly and easy to talk to.

I had my haircut and higlights with Joe a few months ago and he was just wonderful! He took the time to disucss things with me and gave me a great cut and beautiful highlights. He actually listened to me. He is an amazingly talented hairdresser! The prices are also good.

I went in to see Ally and I wasn't at all disappointed. I had her color and cut my hair and she did a terrific job. Not to mention, Salon 401 has great deals on hair products on Saturdays. I'll definitely go back when I run out. Overall, this place is great! Just be prepared to be there for a little while. Perfection takes time!

I live in San Dimas & came to Ali based on all the recommendations. She did a great job & defiantly lived up to her reputation. She was very patient & asked a lot of questions to make sure I got the cut I wanted. I will be back. I just wish she was a little closer to me.

Joe Jardino and Salon 401 consistently provide superior cuts, color & styling service...the fact that I've been a customer there for 15+ years confirms that. I've recommended over 10 friends and at least 7 of them still go there--a recommendation in itself.

The best recommendtion I can give are the frequent compliments I get on my style but particularly my color/highlights (from both men & women!). Joe is innovative and fresh and knows what he's doing. He is, however, a perfectionist, so be prepared to sit in the chair until he gets it *just* right.

PROS: Superior technically & creatively
CONS: Overall time there can be longer than other salons

I read reivews on this salon on insiderpages and went there recently to get hair cut. boy they do very good job. I believe it was Megan who gave m hair cut. She was very sweet, professional and well groomed and did EXCELENT job on my hair. I love my hair style now. I would for sure go back!

After reading reviews of this salon, I booked a last minute appointment for a basic cut and hoped I'd get Shannon. Instead I wound up with Ally and she gave me the best haircut I've had in years... I lived in NYC for 4 years and never found a salon I loved as much as this place.

I had a great expereince at this Salon. Before coming here I had some trepidation about someone new working on my hair. The friendly staff put me at ease. My haicut and highlights were fantastic. Megan did an excellent job and she was fun to talk with. This is an affordable salon with with Rodeo Drive results.

Salon 401 is located in the city of Arcadia, CA. It is on 1st street, accross the street from a school. 401 offers great service at reasonable prices. They offer everything normal hair salons offer (in. cuts, styles, perms, color, updo's etc.) The stylists are friendly and fun and the atmosphere and casual and fun. I recently had my hair cut and colored by one of their stylists at the salon and was thrilled with the result! They do great work there and have fun with what they do. You can tell these stylists enjoy their work. I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a make over or change or if you just need a hair cut. Allycin Cappello was the name of my stylist who gave me my lastest do and did my hair for my wedding and she did a wonderful job! If you want the best... make sure you ask for her. I will promise that you will not be disappointed!!

I was driving by and decided to stop in and get my color done. I was impressed by the extended education my hairstylist Alison had. My color was perfect ans my cut was amazing. Great prices and the customer service was outstanding. I will be back in!!!!!

I hadn't had my hair cut or dyed in about 7 months because I didn't want to look like I did when I left a certain salon last time. I was completely freaked out at the thought of trying someplace new. After reading all the great reviews I finally made an appointment. I'm so glad I did! The salon itself is very hip and modern(loved it). Everyone is incredibly down to earth and funny. Megan works miracles! She transformed my hair and I left there feeling gorgeous. The stylists all make you feel very at home and like you've known them for years. To top it all off they have the lowest prices around. I recommend them to everyone. They've got me hooked for life!

I found Salon 401 through Insider Pages. Heck I lived in Arcadia for 5 years and never heard of them. Salon 401 is Arcadia's best kept little secret and what a great shop! Felt like a family gathering. I actually read so much about Shannon that I intended on getting it to see her, and do to timing I went to Megan instead (the other reviewer is right OMG). I did see Shannon in action and everything I read is true! Yet I am telling you I was in great hands with MEGAN! My hair was in pretty bad shape when I arrived but wow... the color I left with was PERFECT! Megan was able to cut just enough of my hair in the right spots it was s if she had been cutting my hair for years! Why I liked it so much ... is my hair looked SO drastically different, yet so NATURAL, that people have to look twice to figure out I finally got my hair done. They know something is different, just can't tell what! That is when you were in the hands of a true expert! Go to Salon 401! Thank you Megan and Shannon! Ill be back.

I saw Joe for the first time about a month ago and I am pretty sure I won't go anywhere else unless I move out of the state (even then I might consider flying back to see him). I just went for highlights and a hair cut and it was wonderful! He knew exactly what would look good with my skin type and natural hair color and face shape. He didn't rest until it was exactly the way he wanted it and now my hair practically styles itself in the mornings. His prices are amazing and his assistant gives theBEST scalp massage I have ever had in my life! If you see him though be sure to plan to be there for 2-3 hours. He's not quick and often running a little behind but once you are in his chair it's all about you and you will be glad you came.

Joe Jardino, the owner of the salon, treats hair like an art project. He's great! I've been going there 15 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. People stop me on the street and ask me where I get my hair done.
