The Shelter Island location allows you to feel like you are miles away from the city. Very nice pool with a good pool-side bar. We stayed in a room that was cheerfully decorated and had a patio. They have a fitness center and Humphrey's Restarurant was a great place to dine.

Whether you want to spoil out of town guests, or treat yourself to a secluded hideaway, Humphreys Half Moon is perfect. The rooms are subtle and comfortable. Mine had a little patio for my morning coffee - surrounded by banana palms and birds of paradise. The pool and spa is heavenly. And the concierge arranged for a sunset massage that was incredible. This place is golden. :-)

If you're into polynesian then this is the place for you to stay or walk the grounds of. Upon arriving you'll be impressed with the architecture of the building itself and each room has a polynesian touch too.
The pool area is magnificent and if you look closely you'll find tikis hidden within the foliage. Also on the hotel grounds you'll find a stage where, during the summer, concerts are given where some big name bands come and play. There is also a very nice restaurant on the grounds too.
Definitely a hotel to stay at if not for a weekend then a special occasion.

It is really nice to take a walk along the Harbor before you turn in at night. This is the Hotel that you can do it at. You have the ocean on both side of your, the air is wonderful not to mention the view. It is a little ways outside of the main part of town, but it is worth it for the traquilaty.
PROS: Relaxing
