My best friend from childhood called me last week asking me to help her with a problem she ran into in this establishment. Just thought I should put this out here so other folks won't make the same mistake she did by going to this business. My friend bought her daughter a beautiful rainbow topaz ring in the Caribbean. She took it to the shop (Mr. Bling's Jewelry) owned by Charles Kirish.

Here is what she told me happened: "As per our conversation on Thursday, March 19, 2009, Charles the owner of the jewelry store who sized down the ring, ruined the color of the rainbow topaz. I took the ring over to another jewelry repair on the same day. Per the second jeweler (jewelry repair expert), he claimed that Charles Kirish did not use proper tools to cover the stone while heating up the gold which caused the topaz to fade.

I went back to Mr. Bling's Jewelry that same day to ask Charles to replace the stone. Charles of course didn't want to cooperate at first until I informed him what the 2nd jeweler suggested. Charles agreed to replace the stone but only if I paid him $40.00 in cash up front, he wanted to take the ring he ruined, and also take one of my other pieces of topaz jewelry so he can compare the color...or so he claimed. Since I didn't agree to his terms, Charles calls the Pittsburg Police claiming I took the rings without paying. Charles did not accept payment earlier that day from me due to the problem of the ring. I spoke to the police officer. He believed me and suggested I never frequent Mr. Bling's establishment again...which won't be hard to do.

Moments later Charles leave a message on my daughter's phone claiming he will press charges. Anyway I'm thinking of taking him to a small claim court, depending on the outcome of your letters to the BBB and Channel 7 News. Charles really believes he did nothing wrong and ruining people's jewelry is not his problem. It sounds like Charles had crossed this bridge before. Well not on my bridge, if I can help it."

So...this is what my friend told me. I wouldn't go to this store because this man sounds pretty shady to me. When I called him to speak to him about the matter he didn't say anything and just handed the phone back to my friend and started yelling at her.
