The chinese food here is so good and inexpensive. you get giant portions. There are a lot of locals and the staff gets to know their customers. They are very friendly.

I'd have to disagree with the previous review. Ever since Forbidden City moved somewhere else, my fiance and I have been trying to find a Chinese food restaurant to replace it. Kim Hei does a pretty good job. We both enjoyed the flavor of the food (we usually get the sweet and sour chicken and the brocolli beef) and it was just about as greasy as all other Chinese food places. I'm a pretty picky eater and am sensitive to overly greasy or salty foods, which Kin Hei's was neither. I only give it four stars instead of five because, yes, the food could be better (but hey, it's not a big fancy restaurant) and the restaurant itself is not that pretty to look at (looks like they haven't remodelled since the 70's...). For take-out, though, this is the place to go since you get quite a lot of good food for a good price.

Pros: Price, pretty good quality, FAST take-out

Cons: ambience, some servers have VERY thick Chinese accent and are a little abrupt

This is the first review of any kind I have ever posted. No iTunes, no Amazon, nothing. And I do so now only to warn fellow diners away from what is sure to be the worst Chinese food experience of their lives. This is not hyperbole; a trip to Kim Hei is gastronomic hara-kiri. Everything tasted artificial/previously frozen. And it was apparent that both sweet and savory foods were fried in the same oil.

That said, the portions were substantial and the service was prompt (take-out). So if neither taste nor texture is high on your list, then Kim Hei may be the place for you.
