Rosalind's Ethiopian Rstrnt
This is one of my favorite restaurants in LA, great food and inexpensive. I recommend getting the vegetarian combination, which is more than enough food for two people. It includes collard greens, red lentils, split peas, potatoes, and cabbage with carrots. It's served of course, with injera, which is the spongy Ethiopian flat bread made from teff, an iron-rich grain. You have the option of ordering this with salads, which have a great salty, lemony flavor. You can get all of this for just $12. The food is delicious, filling and can be spicy. I also recommend some of the meat dishes, especially the special tibs, which is beef cooked with onions and peppers, and the awaze tibs, beef cooked in a spicy sauce. The only issue I have with this place is that the service can be a bit slow, and you usually have to ask for your bill.
PROS: Great food, low prices
CONS: Slow service, sometimes
