Those are the exact same three adjectives that rushed through my psyche as I exited my near 2 hour visit to the Manhattan Historical Museum. An endless matrix of walls - swimming in photos - is the first sight to grab your attention as you walk through the front entrance of the Museum. They range from the late 1800s all the way up to just yesterday! Each is well documented and - as if the photos themselves didn't already set the scene - the curator's magnificent prose further engulfs you into the settings, as if you were there.

Obviously, wandering around staring at photos would get quite boring after a while. In fact, its impossible to see all of them at once, one is obligated to walk around display cases of artifacts ranging back to the original "Key To The City" which was presented to the City Hall so many years ago.

If you live in the South Bay - regardless of specific city - it is your duty as a beach city dweller to take a step back and into the past - you'd be surprised at how much hasn't, and has, changed.

This museum is nice to go to every once in a while, there is always much to learn and expect from it. It wsnt so exciting when I first went, but whenver I have the time me and some friends go inside just for fun.

Of course you have to have the time to walk around a learn about the history involved, but its nice after you learn more about the events that are being despcribed in the replicas that we are able to see. It's a great museum to visit, but make sure you have the time.
