They are a PADI certified dive shop, and I was SCUBA certified by AWS in 2007, and it was a great experience. The only downside was that I waited 20 years too long to do it - my fault, not theirs!! They have been there that long, and I should have done it a long time ago.
The store has everything you need to dive, from rental gear to new. Tank fills with straight oxygen and specialty mixes on site. All the equipment is available, in several price ranges for any budget. All the employees are divers, and can tell you about local dives. They also have a charter boat available, the Cypress Sea.
Frank, the manager, has been a great help to us in figuring out what to buy. The SCUBA community is full of dogmatic beliefs (just ask about split fins) and he's been wonderfully willing to share both sides of each story. We're happy with the gear we bought there, and Frank's willingness to tell us to go elsewhere when it sounded like we could get something more appropriate elsewhere. We bought our regulators, back plates, wings, and more, and I don't regret a penny of it. The other staff lent us weight belts for a few weeks when the integrated weight system we wanted to buy was out of stock -- at no charge. Great shop.
this store offers a wide range to equipment to choose from. they sell everything you could need for water sports. i like this store because the rentals are more cheaper than other stores and the staff are so friendly and helpful. this store is a bit disorganized but the equipment makes up for it.
Having researched over a dozen dive shops in the Bay Area, and up and down the Peninsula,, I've determined that this operation offers the best-priced rental equipment package in the area. It's not the most modern equipment, but it's up to spec and gets the job done. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
