My car was recently repaired by Golden State Collision in Roseville. I have to say, I had a less than satisfactory experience with both their customer service and the quality of the repair.

GSC employee Aimee had requested in an email on Thursday that I call her on Friday when I was ready to pick the car up. I called at 3:00pm. The girl I spoke with said that Aimee was busy but would call me right back. She took down my name and cell number.

At 4:00 (an hour later) I arrived at GSC having not had my call returned. I told the girl at the counter I was here to pick my car up. She got Aimee, who said "your car is done and they are washing it. It will be ready in 10 minutes."

At 5:10, after over an hour of sitting in their freezing cold lobby, I was told my car was finally done. If Aimee had been honest with me and told me my car was more than an hour from being finished I could have gone and run other errands and returned, but because she told me "10 minutes" I stayed put.

When we went out to the parking lot there was NO walk-around, NO final inspection, not even an explanation of what repairs had been done. Aimee just handed me my keys, said "thanks," and started to walk away.

I IMMEDIATELY noticed a stream of liquid running from the engine onto the pavement, and called her back over to look at it. She assured me (without really looking at it) that this was because the car was just washed. When I got into my car I noticed TONs of missing paint on the dash and all around the instrument panel. It looked like someone had taken a Dremel with a sanding bit to most of my dashboard. This is not the part of the car they repaired and was not like this before bringing it in to GSC.

I went back inside and asked Aimee to come look at the dash with me. The first thing she said was that it couldn't be from them, but after she checked the pictures of the car before and during the repair she saw that it was. Thanks for jumping to assume that I'm lying to you before you've even started to look into it...

Next the manager came out to look at the damage. He told me "We don't use any harsh chemicals or anything" more than 5 times in less than 5 minutes and never actually apologized. "I'm sorry we wasted so much of your time, we'll fix our mistakes as quickly as possible" would have been a great apology. "We don't use any harsh chemicals" over and over and over is an excuse, not an apology at all.

The kicker: while I'm talking to the manager the puddle of liquid under my engine is getting bigger and bigger. He pops the hood, and it turns out the windshield wiper fluid reservoir had a massive crack in it that no one noticed while replacing literally EVERYthing around and underneath it.

The fact that they missed something so obvious makes me wonder what else they missed while rushing through the repair job.

The manager repeated "we don't use any harsh chemicals or anything" several more times and I drove home in my rental car having wasted over 3 hours.

GSC is nowhere near where I live, where I work, or where the accident was. I chose them because I thought they would do an excellent job based on a very positive review from a friend of mine. Boy did that bite me in the butt! I ended up driving 35 miles to Roseville to sit in their freezing cold lobby all afternoon then drive the darn rental car back home.

It's been 6 weeks now since I got my car back and to this day the inside of my car REEKS of some kind of solvent - the smell is like a mixture of paint thinner and Windex. I rate GSC 1/10 because they wasted over 3 hours of my time, damaged my dashboard, and told me the repair was complete when it clearly wasn't. If that wasn't enough, the manager's "apology" was an excuse-filled joke.

Stopped by for an estimate and was told I'd need an appointment, even though they didn't have any other customers waiting. Came back the next day just because I'd told my insurance company that's where I'd get the work done. Long story short, they did substandard work and didn't seem to care. Finally took my Prius to another body shop that got it right. Not recommended!

My car was in a minor fender bender. I took it to Golden State. It was fixed completely and looked great in just a couple of days. It was ready when they said it would be. The staff was very welcoming and made me feel at ease. Great customer service!! I will definitely go back for any auto body repairs.

I took my car to the Golden State @ Galleria Blvd. Dava was so helpful, she took the time to make sure that my car was completely repaired. The car was done a day early, my rental car was waiting for me, and the car looked perfect. They took all of the fear and craziness out of what having an auto accident.
I highly recommend them. Dava and the staff there is outstanding!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS THERE! Front office and "manager" seem to be so nice and customer service oriented. However, it was clear that they rushed through my repairs just to be on to the next. If they did not have time to properly, repair my damage, perhaps they should have said so. The shop "manager" of course blamed the employees for the substandard work, when it was obviously poor time managment which is a reflection of poor managment in general. Take responsibility and accountability for misguiding and misleading people instead of blaming it on the people who are only doing what they are directed to do. Perhaps, then the so called, "manager" and admin staff would gain some respect from their paying customers. Quit passing the buck!

My mom had her car repaired at Golden State Collision and she was extremely happy with the repairs and the service. I handled most of the details for my mom and they treated me just as well as her. They picked up her car and then returned the car to her when it was completed. I highly recommend Golden State Collision in Lincoln and would send all my friends that way!!

I took my 2003 Corolla to them in 2005, they did a great job!!! Granted it was only a minor fender bender. I got in another accident in January 2010 in my 2009 corolla, and they totally dropped the ball. They estimated the damage to be around 13k.
After all the the work was finally done, the cost to have it fixed was more than it would have been to buy a brand new 2010 Corolla. After I got the car from them, I noticed the airbag light was on. The airbag was not functional. I drove over 500 miles home in North Bend Oregon without an airbag or a horn. That is just the start of it. I have had it back in different shops four times to fix the problems they missed and others they neglected to fix correctly. I tried to get them to pay for my rental car last time, and they refused. Jill the director at the Roseville center was very rude! I would not recomend going to this shop at all.

I'll be back next time I need repair work done on my car!!! I was so upset after being rear ended, but the kind and thorough staff at Golden State Collision Center made me feel important and at ease. The insurance adjuster was on site, the waiting area was so pleasant(including toys for my children), a rental car was available and my car was ready when promised. This was an A+ experience!!!

Pros: Nice people

Cons: No skills.

.

My 4-door SUV was t-boned right at the post between the driver's door and the right side passenger's door. I thought it would be a total loss considering the damage to both doors and to the frame underneath; yet, for whatever reason, Golden State's adjuster in Roseville and my insurance company decided to fix it. The shop in Roseville was too busy, so they sent my car to Golden State in Orangevale.

After three weeks, the Orangevale shop called me and said it was all finished, but when I picked it up and looked inside I could see daylight around the rear passenger's door! They had refinished the door but done nothing to straighten it out and make sure it wouldn't leak water! I pointed this out to one of the adjusters and asked him if that was acceptable. He said it wasn't and rolled it back to the shop to make some "adjustments" as he termed it.

About ten minutes later someone rolled my car back out and told me to take it home and let them know if I heard any air coming in from around the door as I drove it home! I know nothing about body work, but I was amazed at this appalling lack of attention, or skill, or whatever. I drove my car home and brought out the hose. I sprayed some water on the two doors for a few minutes and sure enough both doors leaked, so much so that a nice pool of water had formed inside the car behind the driver's seat.

To make this short, I ended up returning my car to Golden State in Orangevale three times because it leaked water, and I was never compensated for gas or my time. After they tried to fix it for the fourth time and failed, the President of the company called me and asked me to bring my car to their Roseville shop so that he could "make sure it's fixed right this time." By that time, however, I was so fed up with Golden State that I fricken sold the car to my cousin for one fifth of what it was worth just so I wouldn't have to deal with their incompetence anymore.

Altogether, I ended up eating three grand on the deal, but it was so worth not having to deal with Golden State Collision Centers Incorporated ever again. If your insurance company recommends that you take your car to their Orangevale shop, do yourself a favor and run!

Golden state collision centers inc provided me with a free estimate for my damaged rear bumper. One thing that I did not like was that you had to have an appointment to receive the estimate. I understand why they may do this, but I would prefer to ability to drop in to receive the estimate that only should take a few minutes. The building was clean and welcoming and the staff were friendly. Golden State Collision is not open on the weekends and only till 5:30 during the week so their hours are somewhat limited. They offer complete collision repair, have towing services available, and give computer damage diagnosis. They also offer rental cars while your automobile is being fixed in addition to the free customer shuttle. they also offer a free travel mug with a coupon that you can get in a local phone book.
