Chicken is OK. Better than a grocery store rotisserie chicken but not the best I have had. Garlic paste is very good. I like their falafel. Good for fast food price and taste-wise.

This was my first Zankou chicken experience as they are franchised all over Southern California now. The taste is somewhat between an Albertson roasted chicken which I had today. Nothing special though I liked the garlic paste that comes along your meal. I used to get the radishes for free but now they charge you to have some. Nothing comes for free anymore. The flat bread is okey-bland though as it needs the garlic paste to taste it up. Overall, I prefer Pollo Loco for fast food chicken.

I lived in Saudi Arabia and thought this would give a reasonable Flafil and Shawarma. They both sucked. The Flafil was yellow from the inside (not rich) and the Shawarma was dry and not juciy and served with only tomatoes: No I don't

I ate at their Hollywood location after reading the rave reviews for the Pasadena restaurant. Yes, the chicken is moist, the garlic sauce is tasty and the portions are generous. Situated in a dingy corner mall in a part of Hollywood that hasn't been cleaned up yet, I wouldn't suggest going there on a special occasion. Great for a quick reliable meal.

The roast chicken is delicious. It's flavorful crispy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. The garlic sauce they give you is divine. The rest of the food is just so-so. The interior design is outdated and kind of ghetto.

Zankou's atmosphere is more reminiscent of a beaten down taco shack than a "world class" dining establishment, but nothing beats their chicken tarna (aka schwarma) with their secret/special garlic paste recipe. YUM!
