Beautiful Hotel

by Hannelore L. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,613

We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was the perfect honeymoon spot! Our room was beautiful, with a large garden tub and fireplace in addition to the usual amenities. The staff was wonderful, and the spa services were top notch.

Lovely hotel

by SE G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,826

My husband and I stayed at The Lodge last summer. The room was very nice (fireplace, large tub). We spent most of our time touring wineries, but we did eat breakfast there several times. The food was ridiculously pricey ($12 for JUST an omlette, no sides???), but it was good. We used the spa one day and enjoyed our services (massage & facial). The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic Hotel

by T.O. G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,216

We stayed in one of the cabanas here. It was very nice - spacious. LOTS of kids here - next time we will pay the extra money to use the private pool area at the spa on days when we aren't getting treatments. But the hotel is very nice. Not a bad walk to town to help work of some of what we ate/drank during the days!

Something slimy on the bed on my first night.

by cjleen

Here's the gritty nitty.

PROS:
-high thread count, 100% Egyptian cotton, italian made sheets
-Category 6 (highest for Marriott Rewards members)
-offer cottages - really cozy, out of the way, great privacy feel
-CHEAP room service. they automatically add 18% gratuity, but the price is about 1/2 than if u stayed at a Four Seasons
-decor is easy on the eyes. nothing too jarring or crazy.

CONS:
-something slimy on the bed on my first night. felt a "ball", about 1/4 the size of a dime. never discovered what it was. just washed my hands, and poured water on the bed the next morning and asked the maid service to change all the sheets
-ordered a cheeseburger and a steak, and room service forgot the cheese and steak sauce
-there's a charge to use the computers at their business center. how very cheap of the hotel!

Pros: High thread count, 100% Egyptian cotton, italian made sheets

Cons: Something slimy on the bed on my first night.

Beautiful and close to everything

by sf_eater

Service is top notch here and each room has a cozy fireplace. We spent most of our stay enjoying the beautiful sun by the heated pool and jacuzzi. The Lodge is close to everything including the historic Sonoma town square although you hardly have to leave the property as the restaurant, Carneros, offers some of the best fine dining in all of Sonoma. A surprise hit especially if you can get a room rate under $200.

Pros: good location, heated pool, in-room fireplaces

Cons: no in-room safe, no in-room CD player
