When I first went there I went with the intention to loss weight. I loved the idea of going to the pool and doing it that way. At closer look the pool is so dirty I joined with a friend and we once saw snot and stuff floating in the water yuck!!! the jacuzzi always has brown stuff floating arround in the foam EEWWW!!!!! I didn't want to use the pool or the jacuzzi. I'm pregnant now and all I can really use is the pool or the tredmil and one is dirty the other one is always busy. So now I'm stuck paying a 35$ membership fee.

I am shocked this place is still open. It is sooooo dirty. The guys are covered in cologne. Don't really think people need to look "pretty" to workout, LMAO. I am not sure anyone really works out there. If you are OK with annoying people on cell phones, broken down machines and a good chance of getting some sort of rash... by all means...
Almost broke my ankle the last time I went for a run on one of their treadmills. The thing just stopped working in mid sprint. When I told the front desk I saw wind going through the ears of a meat head and after an hour... still no "out of order" sign on the machine. Awesome.
If you want a real workout go to a crossfit gym! Only if you are a true athlete though...

WORST GYM EVER!
The machines are constantly broken and never available. you have to wait 20 minutes in line to get on a treadmill and they limit you to only 30 minutes. The weight machines and free weights are practical unavailable. Very dirty place, I have goten rashes from this place many times, I may need to go to the doctor to check if itis anything serious.Alot of people come with a group of friends and hog the machines while they talk and half ass the work out. Ugliest women. smelliest men. even though this gym has a large parking lot It it is still packed and hard to get parking. If you hate fustrating situations, wasted money and standing in line stay away! I wish I could leave but they roped me in with the 2 year contract!!!! nOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Way overcrowded. There is nothing good to say about this
Balleys except that it is big, but it is so overcrowded
and smelly I don't know how the health dept hasn't done
something about the conditions there. Also the staff there
is a joke. They will harass you with phone calls to try to sell
a membership. Stay clear of this dump!

I think management at this gym prefers quantity over quality because it seems like there is no limit on the number of members that can join. It is such a crowded gym.

Customer service is so bad that if you take in a friend the friend may never speak to you again. The pool is cloudy for months on end, you have to wait to use the equipment because it's always so busy and it smells bad! The personnel won't give you the time if day unless you want to sign up someone new. Skip this club!

This gym does the job for me. If you go during the day (like from morning 'till about 3) there's not that many people there. That's when I go, it's really the best time to be there. BUT if you can only go in the evenings... FORGET ABOUT IT! It's packed! Sometimes I think I should call the fire department and find out if that many people are even aloud to be in there all together. PLUS, if you're a cute young girl like me... get ready to be stared at. It's sort of a creepy crowd.

ALTHOUGH, they have really awesome classes there. I would recommend the yoga and the hi/low classes. Those are the only classes I've tried so far and I think they're awesome. If you can only go in the evenings it's WORTH getting the membership just to attend these classes. The instructors know what they're doing, and the staff in general are really nice and helpful.

Also, it's not smelly. I don't know what those other reviewers are talking about. I'm a clean/germ freak and the conditions there are bearable enough.

I attended the North Hollywood Ballys on a pass just before the New Year. I like to exercise early in the morning and so I was happy that they opened at 5 am on the weekdays and at 6 am on the weekends. This, I have to say, was about the only positive thing about the place! Judging by some of the reviews that I have read here, they don't seem to have payed much attention to the comments about the changing room lockers which are still in a poor state. The general cleanliness is not too good either. During my visits there I don't think that I saw anyone wipe off the machine that they were using in spite of the notices requesting people to do so. Also people were shaving in the sauna which they were supposed not to do. My general impression is that the management is only interested in getting you to sign up and then, after that, to hell with you - we don't care.

I have been a member of Bally's for a number of years now. I am finally fed up with the condition of this gym! I am not much for locker rooms, it had been years since I had actually gone in one. But I decided to work out on my way to work and BOY was I in for a shock. The lockers were broken and dirty, I had to try three of them until I found one that would close. Okay, here's the kicker. The shower cutains had MILDEW ALL OVER THEM!! I was so afraid to touch anything. So, I sent an email to their member services but I've had no response. I have to say, the membership is cheap but I would much rather pay a little extra and not get a strange disease.

I wouldn't recommend you to go to that particular gym.
I've been there once and didnt want to go back. It's so crowded and noisy so working out doesn't give you any pleasure. There's a pool, that's probably some people join it.
And also membership is quite expensive compared with other fitness clubs.

When I first started Ballys in 1980 (it was under a different name) it was alot nicer. Not as crowded as it is these days. I should be able to get through my routine in 35 minutes, but with having to wait for the michines it has taken me as long as 1hr 15 minutes. That part I do not like. Yet, I still go, usually early in the morning so it is not as crowded and I sit on the cycle and watch the morning news. Friday nites there have become like a singles bar which is not the atmosphere that I prefer. If you are not real serious about your workout then this would be great for you, they have a nice indoor pool also. The price for membership is very reasonable compare to other gyms. If you go there, they will give you a tour and a 2 week pass forfree. Check it out.

This Bally's is pretty awful. It seems like they've enrolled an amont of members that FAR exceeds the capacity of the facility. It always seems jam-packed, and it practically requires a mental workout for me to figure out how I'm going to get in some good exercise. Good luck if you want to find a flat bench that's not in use!

I joined this gym because it had a pool. Even though the pool lanes are clearly marked for swimmers of different levels, there inevitably seemed to be a good chunk of slow people in every single lane.

The locker rooms are right next to the pool, and the tile floors are always wet and don't seem particularly clean. I'm surprised I didn't pick up some kind of fungus while I was there.

Add all this to the 3-year commitment they asked me to sign, and the $41/mo. (which is steep compared to other gyms out there), it wasn't too tough to decide to go somewhere else.

Naturally, I didn't get a sympathetic call from their customer service reps until AFTER I'd

This gym in north hollywood is mediocre at best...I used to go there every so often because it was a pretty decent ballys with a indoor track, swimming pool, sauna..etc. But its so crowded its not even funny..Theres really also no wheer to park..And the clientel isnt to friendly...They smell like they need to bathe in tomato juice...You have to wait around for minutes just to use certain equipment...And the ballys workers will hassle the hell out of you if you bring a guest...Screw this ballys go to pasadena..actually dont...I dont want that gym to get crowded....

Most Ballys stick to the basics for their design. Televisions broadcast silently above multiple rows of cardio machines; mirrored walls act as the primary decorative components. But thanks to high-energy television ads…
