Friday evening outside patio 7:45, 3 tables taken, 9:15 filling up. Nice evening, early with people inside, why ? Good for us. Our waiter Andy very attentive and a full knowledge of the menu. Like all fairly expensive steak houses if you want to eat big then it??s not for you. I started of with Shrimp with a hot sauce, then Chicken with a side of mash and Mushrooms, both really tasty. Finishing off with a really delicious Thin Pastry with Apple, topped with ice cream. My friend had Escargots to start, then the Sea food bowl he said both were excellent, alas with a side of not so good Pomme Frites. The wine was fine, we picked Beaujolais. After a few hours and coffee, left very happy.
I have been to many Steak house, the ambience, surroundings and space here is much more suited to relaxing with company. Both my friend and I will return.

I went to Morels after a long day of taking guest from another country out. I wanted to take my guest to a nice place, but we were very disappointed.

I wouldn't complain if the price of the food matched the taste...don't get me wrong I will pay good money for good food. We ordered: onion rings, spinach and avocado salad, the salmon, a pasta dish and the special (scallops with fillet mignon) and ratatouille. The service was amazing I'll give them that. The food: the only things that tasted decent were the salad and onion rings. The salmon had no flavor. The pasta was undercooked. the fillet mignon came with a sauce that was flavorless, the scalloped were over cooked and burnt, I had to embarrassingly ask for A1 sauce. The rataouille was fair, but you really can't make a mistake with rataouille.

And, surprisingly the place was packed probably because people knew that there was an Ashanti concert that is right in front of the restaurant and they wanted to be able to eat and see the concert. This was our first time and last time at Morels.

You decide for yourself if you want to go there...good atmosphere, good service, terrible expensive food.

My Wife and i went to Morel's for our 5th year Wedding anniversay . The Service at this restaurant was great from the begining of my conversation with the person who took our reservation 2 days prior. Upon arrival on saturday evening for our 830pm reservation we were greeted by the manager, and the hostess. They both, with a smile, said "Welcome to Morel's:",, at that moment i knew our night was going to be special. The Manager proceeded to accompagnie us up the stairs to the steakhouse. once we got to the top of the stairs, we were again greeted by another hostess. The Manager continued to guide us to our table. 45 Seconds later, our server approched the table wih a smile and greeted us as if were VIPs, My wife and I never said a word about our anniversary celebration, no one knew that this was a special night for us, and we were treated like royalties. The Service was perfect, the pace was great, the music was nice, The food was AMAZING! The Ribeye dry was tender, flavorful, and juicy, my wife had the baked lobster, which the waiter was kind to deshell at our table. At the start of our dinner they brought us an Amuse bouche , that paired well with the wine that the Sommelier had suggested to us, and then, came our ceasar salad , which was prepared table side ,, the busser kept refilling our water, and maintained our table clean the whole night . The effort that the staff puts out there to make their guests happy and fell comfortable, is priceless. We will not go anywhere else, Morel's became a tradition for us.. And on top of it all, when we finally told the waiter, that we were celebrating our Wedding anniversary, The same manager who greeted us in the begining brought us a beautiiful and tastyChocolate Souffle., and he said "I wish i knew this dinner was a Wedding anniversay, I would have made your niight special", my wife and i looked at eachother and laughed. THANK YOU MORELS FOR AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT!

Morels is a French bistro located in the heart of the Grove. It has a great view of the fountains and has indoor and outdoor seating. They serve great steak frites as well as cheese plates and sandwiches.

Attempted to have dinner here with my husband. It was 5:30 and the place was not full, yet looked to be fully staffed. So there is no excuse for the service we rec'd.
**Seated and ordered water , drinks, and place setting from waitress who could barely speak English.
**Bread came about 10 minutes later and we asked busboy if he could check on drinks, water, place settings.
**Waitress came back and took our dinner order and we asked again for water, drinks, place settings or at least a knife and napkin to start on the bread/butter
**Sat there for about 10 more minutes and nothing came so we got up to leave
**Stopped the clueless manager (blonde young woman) who was roaming the room in a fog to tell her that we were leaving, to please cancel our order and recounted the lack of service we rec'd.
**And her reply was, "oh...OK!". and then a woman sitting at a table next to us said, "hey I got this coke i didn't order...maybe it was yours!". Nah..we ordered martinis:-)

Now I was a waitress so I am overly empathetic and patient if somebody is new or the place is understaffed but here is a situation where the owner has chosen to employ a waitress, busboy and manager who are completely inept.

great Tableside Ceasar Salads. Wait staff sometimes slow and rude. I do not drink alcohol either and got same reaction from waiter when no drinks were ordered. Great location but slow and expensive for what you get. Bus staff very good.

FIRST - This review is for the STEAKHOUSE - The downstairs BISTRO is a completely different menu!!!

My family and I agreed that the steaks were some of the finest that we had ever ate. Beautifully cooked and they melted in your mouth. The steaks can come with a variety of sauces and are delivered with four different flavoring salts.

If you can swing it, order the seafood platter that comes w/ a dungeness crab, 1/2 lobster, and prawns. Pricey, but a real treat if split between a large group.

However, be prepared to wait for your food. Good things come to those who wait.

Upon leaving Morels, there was no host to give us validation tickets for our parking, so I reached down under the front podium to retrieve them. The manager, Albert, accused us of trying to steal parking validation tickets. In retrospect, my friends and I should have celebrated her birthday dinner at La Piazza, the Italian restaurant located across from yours, where we have never been accused of lying and stealing parking validation tickets and we would have never left feeling insulted

When we got there at 10:00 pm they told us it would be a 15 minute wait and we ended up waiting 45 minutes. Then when we finally sat down the waiter came over and made fun of us for sitting next to each and not across from each other in a booth because we were both women and he also complained because he had worked for 5 hours that day. When we didn't order any alcohol and just salads to begin that made the waiter angry. Then we ordered our food (steak and chicken) which was just okay for what they were charging and not once did the waiter come over to check on us. When we were done eating we asked for seperate checks, since we were on a business trip and he said he didn't know if he could do that. So he brings us seperate checks and puts two salads on one ticket stating that he could not seperate them. So one check ends up being really high and one really low and we were talking amongst ourselves saying that it didn't seem right, so he brings a calculator over and slams it on the table, how inappropriate! If it was up to me I woudn't have tipped him at all. Does he not understand that he works in the SERVICE INDUSTRY? I have to say that this was the most horrible dining experience in my life and I wound not reccommend this restaurant to anyone unless you plan on bad food and bad service for a high price.

I ordered the steak from the lunch menu. The quality and flavor was just average for $19. I expected better quality from a restaurant that advertises itself as a steakhouse. The service was ok. The kitchen staff broke or dropped things frequently and the waiters stood by the doors looking bored and complaining about the place not being as busy as they had been promised when they were hired.

All in all i think Morel's was a decent place to try out. The service and food was good but nothing special. I went upstairs to the steakhouse and had the NY prime rib while my date had the filet mignon. the quality of the meat was good but both were undercooked to what we had asked. The wine list is ok also. For desert we had some apple thing, needless to say it didn't leave much of an impression that's why I can't even remember the name of it. The bar is probably the best part of Morel's. The martinis and mojitos were amazing.

I went there with my family on a Sunday afternoon. You might say that the service for seating was really fast. The hostess had a black skirt that was completely see through on a sunny day (black of course). At first I thought she had to work in a different invornment. She sat us inside next to a door that everytime a server would walk out that door it was very windy and everything would start flying. But of course it was a no big deal, the first server who was serving that table changed us to 1 table up. Apparently we were not the first to complain since she told the hostess not to seat anyone else there because of this problem. So we get another server at our table who took the order and than another server came by with drinks. We asked for some bread and a different server brought it to us. It seemed like there was never 1 person responsible for our table. But than after we get our bread, the server who brought our drinks takes our bread basket and puts it on the table behind us becuase they aslo didn't get there's. So she says to them "be quite they didn't see it". How can you not see something when it is taken in front of your nose? I ordered the muscles which had no taste whatso ever. My husband ordered the steak which was discusting. My sister ordered a salad and asked to grill the chicken, which doesn't come with it so they charged $5.00 for it. No big deal that's normal, but the chicken was never grilled. The manager came to our table and apologized for the entire ordeal took off both of our dishes which was very nice of him. We were going to pay for our dinner no matter what, this was the right thing for him to do as a manager. I give him 5 stars for his knowledge of operating the business. Since I am also in this kind of business.

The food was a wonderful (and expensive) treat however the service was sub par. It took FOREVER to get our food despite the waiters good attitude. We only have two hours for parking and when you are waiting 45 MINUTES for strawberries and cream, you can't savor your food!

I was not extremely impressed with Morels at the Grove. The Grove speaks sophistication, class and great service. This restaurant was none of the above. The hotess was rude, our waitress was M.I.A. for most of the meal except to spill a glass of wine in my lap (then to make me pay for it), diet coke was served instead of the requested Coke Classic, the food was mediocre for the price. $13 for a hamburger... ridiculous! It tasted like a $8 burger from Red Robin. The Mac and Cheese had little cheese. The decor of the restaurant was impressive, but nothing else was. This restaurant will never get my business again.

my husband and i recently dined at the patio facing the fountain at the grove. service was attentive despite the holiday rush of patrons. i ordered the salmon with capers pizza (more like a flammkuchen from alsace but not as good) and i was disappointed with the overwhelming flavors. we ordered a side of the macaroni and cheese and that was a little bit better but i don't know if it took the sting out of the letdown from my pizza. my husband ordered the hamburger and the small bites i managed to seize from his burger proved much more satisfying. we even dipped our fries in mayo which wasn't bad! we shared the souffle and it was delicious. we'll likely come back to try the restaurant upstairs but it's much more fun sitting outside to enjoy people-watching.
