Fun mall with great variety of stores for everyone. I usually only come here for Panda Palace, which is a Chinese restaurant on the top floor of the mall. They sell these chocolate covered fortune cookies which are delicious, and I also love the lemon chicken.

I usually walk around the mall while we wait to be seated and visit the toy shop "Go! Toys and Games" that's pretty close by.

One thing though about this mall. It has multiple levels (~5), and if you don't know how to navigate going from one level to the other (not all elevators/stairs lead to all the levels) you could get lost.

The main reason why I go to Horton Plaza is for their Forever 21. I think it's the biggest of all the ones down here in San Diego, and it's cleaner/neater than all the others. Another great plus about Horton Plaza is that it's right in downtown, so when you're done, you can walk around downtown. Panda Palace is located in this mall, and they have great food. They have so many different cultural foods to choose from on their top level (food court area). This is definitely a tourist spot. Beware: remember where you park. The parking structure might get confusing. Also, parking is free for the first 3 hours with validation, and you don't even have to buy anything!

Decent mall, but I prefer fashion valley or UTC. The mall covers a lot of space but it doesn't really have much to shop in. The stores in it are smaller than other stores in our area. Good place to go if you prefer quantity over quality.

Horton Plaza is located in the heart of downtown San Diego. It offers a wide variety of stores, more on the side of hip hop and younger generations. The mall itself is fairly run down and the nicest store is probably the Nordstrom's. The parking lot is just about the most confusing lot ever if it is your first time here, so make sure to memorize your way back. The food court has poor selections and I would recommend eating at a restaurant on the outskirts of the mall instead. Overall, if you are looking for a more hip hop style and are downtown, then this place is perfect for you, otherwise the selection and atmosphere is not worth it.

The archetecture alone is worth fighting your way through the parking lot, then trying to navigate your way through the bizantine walkways and multi-leveled shops. The food court is more spread out than at a traditional mall. Everything's here; you just have to hunt around for it. Even the movie theater is so tucked away you have to really look for it.

This mall is HUGE and it has almost everything you can think of. Horton Plaza covers 6-1/2 city blocks and is up to 5 stories high. There is about 130 shops and restaurants including a Long's Drugs where everyone gets their parking validations/gum =). Shop till you drop!
And at night, there are nice places to go clubbing in Gaslamp around that area

This place is located right smack in the middle of downtown, which means traffic getting there could be a pain and looking for parking is just as painful, especially during one of those gift-giving seasons. Other than that, this mall is one of the best place to shop in San Diego. It has great stores and nice, cozy places to eat and pretty colors and unusual architecture [for a mall] to stare at, which makes it the perfect mall to take out of town people for a little shopping spree. Theyd love the place for sure oh, dont ever forget where you park. Its horrible walking up and down the levels looking for your car.

I think this mall is like five stories high! And each story is filled with great stores and restaurants. In the winter there is usually an ice rink set up too! I can't get enough of this mall!

Downtown's Horton Plaza mall has a good selection of very expensive stores. Sure they have tons of lovely items to look at, but for people who don't make large quantities of money and want to buy things, this is not the place to go. Also, the design of the place is very confusing and difficult to navigate. It's easy to get lost. This is not the mall of choice.

At first glace, Horton Plaza catches you with its beautiful architecture and appealing colors. The different levels, store arrangements, elevators, walkways, steps, parking structures, decorative statues and lights, greenery, and overall layout is definitely alluring. Horton Plaza, to me, is one of the definitive attractions that highlight San Diego as a worthy location of tourism and culture.

There is every store of interest, meant to attract any group of people. I have seen every type of age group, family, friends, children, and senior citizens, enjoy this place. Business people are also abundant during lunch break hours from their daily jobs in downtown San Diego. Initially, Horton Plaza was less extravagant as it is now. This mall has become more accomodating to high spending shoppers. As a center of tourism for visitors and a place serving the needs of business people in the area, there a quite a few more expensive stores. But then again, there are many many stores, therefore serving the needs of a wide array of people.
One of my favorite aspects of Horton Plaza is the food court, particularly at night. You can find a large selection of food places all lined up in a row in the food court, including: Ben & Jerry's, Panda Express, La Salsa, italian, japanese, mongolian noodles, mediteranean/greek, and many other places that I cannot recall names. I love eating there at night, enjoying the view from the 3rd floor, feeling the excitement of the city through the lights, downtown sounds, and night decorations. My favorite part of eating at night is because of the outdoor heaters.

I also enjoy going to Horton Plaza for some Jamba Juice and Starbucks coffee. Other days, I can see movies in the mall's theater of Horton Plaza owned by Regal/Edwards Cinemas. As the center of everything, it is only walking distance to reach any destination. I love walking along the harbor and the noisy streets. A million stores and restaurants are conveniently surrounding.

PROS: Location, variety, downtown San Diego, fun, great energy.
CONS: Sometimes crowded, parking is not always the easiest.

I don't know why I'm not as attacted to this mall as I am to fashion valley. Without a doubt, this is the best looking mall in San Diego, with it's unique two story design and scattered artwork throughout the facility. There is also a movie theatre but it sucks cause it has the old fashion seats which make it impossible to see if you are short. There are a bunch of stores that can satisfy almost anybody. I think i dont like this place because of the garaging. you have to pay (if you go longer than 3 hours with validation) and the fruits and vegetables are confusing. I hate driving around downtown.
so many cars.

And of course, I always have to go to Horton Plaza Shopping Center. It has all kinds of stores from gift shops to Starbucks to Name Brand Stores. It is on different levels, you can order food and go and sit on one of the levels and do some great people watching. They also have a hotel attached to it, I have not stayed there yet. It is pretty much in the center of all the activities in the San Diego District. Great to go there at night with your kids cause there are all kinds of stores and snack shops for them. A good place for souvineirs. One thing people have to realize about San Diego, it is more of a kickback place then Los Angeles so even the Shopping Center is relaxing.

PROS: Lots of nice stores and eateries. Can spend an entire evening there walking around and window shopping.
CONS: In the summertime Parking can be a bear
