Conveniently located on Carlton Hills Blvd in Santee, this store provides budget concious readers a wonderful way to locate and afford their favorite authors. Even better deals on the last Fri/Sat of each month, when most books are dropped half price. Be sure to check often, stock changes daily.

The Friendly Used Bookstore is the Santee Library's used bookstore. The books are very cheap- paperbacks are only 50 cents. They have a section called "Better books" which are the newer books. The better books cost a little more- usually $1.50-$2.50 for a paperback- which is still a really good deal! They also carry some magazines but not too many- probably because most people don't donate magazines. The people that volunteer in there are very friendly. Another great thing about the shop is that the last Friday and Saturday of the month they have their half price book sale to try and clear out some room for more books. The store is fairly small but it does have a cozy atmosphere.

PROS: Great prices.
CONS: Some of the books seem like they have been there for ages.
