Corwins Bridal & Tuxedo

Corwin's was my first stop for my wedding dress and I had no appointment and no idea what I was doing. The help was terrific and I found my dress in less than 2 hours. The owner really showed me all my possibilities and gave me the attention and guidance I needed. She and her employees are quick to catching on to what you like. They are also good at showing you how to "think outside the box" so that you can really see beyond what you might have been originally thinking. I can't express how great the help was there. I love my dress and it was very affordable. I am so glad I was able to give a LOCAL business my order. I would recommend Corwin's to anyone.

If you want to be treated like a wallet go to David's Bridal. If you want to be treated like a human being go to Corwin's Bridal & Tuxedo. Their dresses were gorgeous and a lot less that David's. I was told that basically all stores have similar styles and that makes sense. . We found the entire experience to be positive and highly recommend this store.

I went into Corwin's not really expecting to find what i was looking for. But i was wrong, I not only found something but i found my perfect prom dress. I wouldn't have found it without the honest opinion of the owner. She was very honest and polite throughout the whole time I was there.
I would definitely recommend corwin's to anyone looking for beautiful dress is and friendly service

I loved my experience at Corwins. Truly wonderful and helpful staff and the owner was gracious as we did not have an appointment when we arrived. She catered to me and I was never left unattended. I found the perfect dress there and know that I can recommend all brides shop there to receive the attention and one on one care that brides need to guide them through shopping for the dress of their dreams. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Corwins.

I'm way over the hill but still like good clothes. I have purchased dresses for two of my grand daughters' wedding and both times they were dresses that I did NOT think were appropriate for my age. Dora the sales lady insisted that at least I try it on (the first wedding) and it was perfect and made me feel more youthful and attractive--they even altered it. The second wedding I put myself in Dora's hands again and again ended up getting a dress I never would have chosen but I have to admit that I looked elegant. Cor wins appear to have lovely wedding gowns, but not my field and I know they have tuxedos as there was a wedding party group of men there when I was there once. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The last time I was downtown I dropped by and Dora was working that day and she insisted I take a sweater that looked so good on me. I just wore it to a function at the Sierra Nevada Big Room and got lots of compliments. I hate shopping but Dora at Corwins has taken the sting out of it and has excellant taste. I would recommend them to anyone because their prices are extremely reasonable, the staff is wonderful and really care. Also the variety of merchandise surprised me. Try it! Also we should all buy local more often.

I have never written a review before, but this store certainly deserves 5 star ratings. I have searched for months trying to find my dream wedding gown. Everyone had told me to go to sacramento and i did, and even to a couple of other high pressure stores here in chico, just gave up. I did not even know corwin's was downtown until I went to the bridal fair a couple of weeks ago. The staff was so helpful to me, and even made a special appointment for me after hours, as I work late. I tried on many gowns, in my size I might add. Some stores make you try on bigger ones so you will need alterations, but not corwins. The owner, Dora Corwin helped me and was so helpful with my decisions and really listened to what I wanted. I purchased an Allure gown which I love, and it fits perfect without needing any alterations except a bustle for my reception. She helped me with my veil, tiara and shoes. That store has everything!! even tuxedos. I am sending my bridesmaids there as well because the prices are the best. Thank-you Dora and please thank you wonderful staff. My mother and I are so happy we found you. thank you so much, definitely the BEST bridal store in town. KUDOS TO YOU!!! :>)

I really believe this is the best place on earth to start and end your wedding gown search. I think that I became gown-obsessed and probably tried on about 40 dresses. All I can tell is that you will know it is the right dress when you put it on.

I went in with a picture of a gown I found on-line and they had a few there that looked the same as my picture. I tried one for $50 less then the so called Internet discount "vendor." Don't buy your dress unless you know what it will look like on your body because I tried 2 that looked just like my picture at two different stores and one looked terrible on me and the other one was at best so-so. I tried on 2 of the wedding gowns I had selected before my consultant said she knew she had found my gown. I have to say that I honestly did not think that would be the dress. I am sure you know how this review ends. It was so perfect and it looked so good that we all had a cry-fest! My mom, my twin cry and even Nora, my saleslady cried! It was a wonderful experience and I'm not the type to write reviews, but Corwin's Bridal is well deserving.

They treated me really well, in spite of the fact that I had walked in after a 2 hour walk and looked a mess. I looked like I didn't have a dime to my name! Walked back in 2 weeks later with a couple of friends when I was ready to try on dresses. Was treated just as well and this time I was well dressed and serious about buying my wedding dress. It took a third trip before I decided, but I don't know if everyone is as demanding. The staff was always nice, helpful and really seemed to care. It was NEVER about my money, more like wanting me to look my best.

This is the favorite store in town for my daughter and her friends. Now, I have to add that it is my favorite store too. The kids, (one now in college) called Corwin's their favorite store for that amazing, make-everyone-else-die of-envy-because-their-dress-is not -as-nice-as-mine store. The selection was amazing, prices fair and the staff, as incredible as it may seem, really honest in telling the girls if a style was not flattering to their built. Corwin's has now started carrying very cute dresses and tops that are fashionable, inexpensive and APPROPRIATE WITHOUT BEING FRUMPY for me, a woman in her 40s. I have also attended 2 weddings this year in which the brides wore the ost magnificent gowns I have ever seen, and I found out they were not bought out of town, but rather at Corwin's. I happen to know the owner in a social setting, so I mention this for the sake of being fair to readers of this review, but it would be unfair to me, if I did not get to write how pleased my family has been with their dresses and gowns.

Everyone in Chico knows they have the most beautiful wedding/bridal party dresses but I just found out they are also starting to carry more casual dresses/blouses....and not the same old thing you can purchase down the street. I purchased 2 casual summer dresses for my daughter and she wears them all the time I have yet to see any other young woman wearing the same dress.

You really need to check them out!!!!

I was referred to this store by a friend who had gotten her bridal gown and her bridesmaid dresses there. She told me the salespeople were really nice--she was right. I was never pushed, the ladies that work there are not on commission. They knew me by name when I walked in (I hope I was not a bad bride) and could not have been nicer. They had in their store 3 of the 4 dresses I had circled in a bridal magazine, so you know they keep up with the latest fashion. We even got all our tuxes there because, much to my surprise they had the best prices for those too. Downtown parking can be a bit of a hassle, but if you can save money, be treated like a queen and be be like me and write that Corwin's was by far your favorite vendor--then it's worth that extra nickel or walking half a block from the parking structure. Their alteration person is the best in town. She even fixed a botched up job that was done on a friend's dress that was purchased at another local establishment.

I am recommending this store to anyone that reads this. First time EVER, that I felt it was about me and not my money. I worked with the owner who actually told me not to be impulsive and to COME BACK the next day because she wanted me to be sure that the dress I wanted was really myt dream wedding gown. (I was alone and had decided on a dress). I went back that Saturday with my mom and grandmother and they were so nice to my grandma who is in a wheelchair. I ended up with another dress that I liked even more. It was $100 more than the original one I thought I wanted. I DIDN"T EVEN ASK and she lowered the price to match the one from earlier in the week. This kind of service, according to my grandma and mom is what they grew up with. For me it was a first and I liked it a lot. Ended up cancelling our tuxedos from Menswear House and switched to the Corwin store. They were cheaper!! Check your prices because sometimes you assume that the big stores are less and they are not.

I left Chico to attend U.C.L.A. I tried at least 20 dresses in Los Angeles before I found a dress by Allure was THE ONE!! I loved the dress but the price was steep and I decided to wait another month and continue looking for a gown that was less expensive.. I came to Chico to visit friends and family last summer, and stopped in at Corwins. It was one of the best decision I have ever made. The gown I saw in L.A. for $2,499 was ONLY $999.00 at Corwin's. The service and their willingness to help was truly amazing The people working there really know what they are doing. I ended up ordering my bridesmaid dresses from Corwin's Bridal too. Better still, because I had 5 they gave me one for FREE! Unlike other stores, the staff at Corwin's were never pushy. My bridesmaid dress arrived ahead of schedule and they were perfect.

Service was great at this bridal store. They made me feel very welcome and actually listened to my budget and what I wanted to wear for my wedding. They have a nice sitting area with all the new magazines so you can show pictures of what you like and they can match up styles for you. However, they do have a limited selection on hand and ordering dresses takes longer than most stores, but if you have the timeframe to wait for a dress this is a great place to work with.

PROS: knowledgeable staff
CONS: parking downtown can be difficult
