Best Indian Restaurant in LA!

by pinkmonkeybanana

I've been to India's Grill twice, and have decided to write a review, after being so pleased and satisfied with the quality of their food. Their Mon-Fri lunch specials are an absolute steal, and yet so delicious. And their dinner orders come complete with fresh warm naan, raita (homemade yogurt) or salad, 2 vegetables of the day (on both of my experiences they were saag (spinach) and channa masala (garbanzos in masala sauce), and basmati rice- all in addition to the main dish. I always love my Indian food very spicy, so I thus always ask the server to make my food to my liking, whenever I go to an Indian restaurant. And I just love how India's Grill makes the food exactly how I like it. The portions are more than enough. I definitely will be back for more yummy Indian food very soon! I've tried nearly every Indian restaurant in the LA area, and India's Grill is now at the top of my list.

Pros: Delicious, high quality, fresh Indian food, with excellent portions, takes KCRW 10% discount

Terrible. Snotty Service

by jstoodt

I previously went to this place literally every week because it was always empty focusing on deliveries perhaps. So then I place a quick delivery order. An order that required a 3.7ml drive (per Google). And the restaurant has the nerve to say thats TOO FAR! And refuses the order!! Unbelievable. For a restaurant that is routinely completely emply it then turns down orders. I will tell all my friends in Beverly Hills and make sure they know what a bad restaurant it is. There are so many options to choose from. I'll make sure they try others, as I certainly will never return.

Pros: Location

Cons: Snotty Service

Used to love this place.

by cruisermatt

I have eaten at Indias Grill about 30 times and sadly the last time was the last that I will ever eat there. The food had always been really good. The last time I had food delivered there was a CLUMP of long blond hair in my food. Not a single hair, not a couple of hairs - it was FULL of hair. I was disgusted and when I called them to let them know all they said was that they would comp my next meal. I can assure you I will never take advantage of that offer as I will never eat there again.

Pros: used to love em

Cons: hair in food

This place turned me into an Indian Food Fan!

by whatsupnow6

I am not an expert on Indian food, but this place turned me on to Indian Food. A friend took me there one time, and after that I was hooked. I feel great after each meal, and I feel like I got a great value because they give a lot of food.

The recommended dishes are Shrimp Buna and Chicken Tikka Masala. Once you go, I am sure you will come back! I have eaten dozens of meals here, and I recommend this place to all my friends.

Pros: Best Indian food I have had thus far, Easy Parking, Nice Ambience, Great Food, Solid Value

Cons: Getting there from West Hollywood is a little tricky

Amazing Indian food!

by biggereater

I've been to India Grill a handful of times, but in the last few months I've been too busy to go. Finally went again last night, and was reminded of just how delicious the food is here! We ordered veggie samosas, lamb vindaloo, shrimp masala and keema mataar (minced chicken w/curry, peas and spices. The lamb was tender, the shrimp was cooked perfectly (not overdone and tough)?the sauces were very flavorful! The only thing I'd request next time is for them to add a little more spice to it. Besides the great food, every time I've gone, I've never waited for a table and I've always found parking in the little strip mall (Yep, it's an ugly little strip mall, but it's overlookable considering how great the food is). The service is spot on, the staff are really nice and accommodating?love it!

Dinner portions are incredible!

by superarturo

I was so surprised with this place... my friend took me here for my birthday. We love Indian food but it usually is sort of on the pricey side, and entrees often come in those little silver dishes. Here though, they give you a nice big platter of food, with sides, and the food was really delicious. Good price, too! I got the saag paneer and one of the chicken-stew dishes with vegetables. Definitely coming back.

Pros: Nice big portions. Saag paneer. Mango lassi. Great entrees

Cons: Wish I lived near West LA so I could eat here more often !

Fabulous Indian Food

by svantico

I've not been to the restaurant but I've had food delivered several times at work. We had a big crowd (20-30 people) so we had the opportunity to try a variety of dishes.

My mouth is watering now just thinking about the great food that India Grill offers. I plan to actually have a meal at the restaurant but am confident I'll be having more delivered before then. Of the dozen or so things I tried, I can truly say each was fantastic and I'd order them all again.

Nice food but no spice!

by taradelis_citysearch

I really enjoyed my meal here. I had yummy lamb korma, saag paneer, samosas, naan, etc. The food was all good but it was way too mild. Normally, places ask how hot you want it, but they didn't. I should have thought to bring it up but never expected the food to be that mild. I will give them another chance and make sure to tell them to kick it up several notches. The naan was some of the best I've had and I really enjoyed the bhartha, not too tomatoey. Even the chickpeas, which I normally find too dry, were good. And they packaged everything nicely so it didn't spill.

Best Indian Food I've Ever Had

by fill_up

I have never in all my life had such good Indian food. I even bring Indian friends / co-workers to this place and they are amazed and shocked by how darn good the food is. I mean, there is "every place else" and then there is India's grill -- it's that good. Not the "hippest" or most romantic little hole-in-the-minimall-wall, but it sure hits the spot. Every time.

Pros: Food, food, food!

If you're a fan on Indian food...

by mtrain09

This is your spot. Unknown to many (I can't understand why---maybe they should advertise their restaurant more), this place absolutely rocks. I have had every dish on the menu and each time I leave completely satisfied. it is extremely difficult to find solid Indian food--esp. non-veggie food---but this place will make you very happy. It's otugh to find, but it's quiet and rarely filled to capacity, but this place should be filled tot he door every night---it's that good!!

hidden little jem

by sesshin

tucked away over by the Beverly Center. Never too crowded and always great service. I think I have probably tried each item on their menu at least once it is all excellent. I can highly recommend their various saag and paneer and korma. You routinely see Indian families and friends dining there, which is always a good sign. I appreciate their delivery too.

Pros: excellent food, prompt service

Cons: parking lot is small, slightly expensive

Best Indian food in L.A.

by vandenhe

I've been to over a dozen Indian places in L.A., and this is still my favorite. The best thing is, the prices are also quite reasonable. The chicken curry and chicken tikka masala are my favorite meat dishes. The chana masala (garbanzo beans) are also excellent. It's located in a strip mall near the Beverly Center, not the greatest location, but the food keeps me coming back for more.

Pros: Inexpensive, Good service, Delicious

Good take-out.

by alow_cs

I've only eaten their food as take-out for late-night sessions here at the office, so ignore my rating with regards to the atmosphere and service. Good items are the Tandoori Chicken - moist. That's no small accomplishment, since the chicken is skinless and it has no sauce. Vegetable Samosas - good filling, but I thought the crust was a bit thick for my tastes. We had about 11 or so of the "curry-like" entrees, and they were *all* very well done.
