Horrible Service, Expensive Prices. We bought a Lazy Boy sofa set from them. Upon delivery the delivery guys refused to move old sofa so my 13 yr old daughter who just had 2 screws placed in her ankle & wearing a protective boot along with my fiance who had a back injury had to move it out of the house! Then with in 4 weeks several holes in the back of the sofa from intermitent rubbing on the wall! \r\nI do NOT recommend this store!

While I was looking around at the product in this store, a heavy set female employee with long brown hair was screaming at another employee at the top of her lungs. No wonder there are so many negative reviews about this store. If they treat their customers like their own employees,they should not even be open to serve the public.

TERRIBLE Customer Service! I recently moved into a large home and ready to make some large purchases I entered Boatmans. However, not long after I entered the store I was told that strollers are not allowed in the store. I have a one year old and I am also pregnant. I cannot lug my child around on my hip for any extended period of time. That is a ridiculous request. I usually do not leave reviews but this was terribly rude. I'd rather drive to Santa Barbara and pay twice as much for my furniture then spend my money with a company that has little regard for the interests of their customers. I will never shop here in the future.

However, not long after I entered the store I was told that strollers are not allowed in the store. I have a one year old and I am also pregnant. We bought a dining room set from Boatman's and when it was delivered we immediately realized the chairs did not match the table - same wood but totally different style. The table is from Hooker's Old English Plank-Top dining group, but the chairs have curved French Provincial legs. I called Boatman's owner and she suggested we come back and look through the manufacturer's catalog. No where in the catalog did the chairs we were sold appear. They also appear nowhere on Hooker Furniture's website. It appears obvious that the chairs were part of another dining room set that Boatman's owners hoped to get rid of. We then ordered the chairs that MATCH the table. There are warning signs all over the place at Boatman's - Restocking Charge, No Strollers, No Cameras, No Food or Drink, and on and on. The sign that is really needed is: BUYER BEWARE.\r\n\r\nWhen the delivery people delivered the matching set of chairs and took away the chairs from another furniture collection, they commented that of course the chairs we initially bought do not match the table and that ""this kind of thing happens all the time."" I then e-mailed the owner and requested that she drop the $150 re-stocking fee. She did not respond so I sent a second e-mail and said I would like to resolve this problem with her and not have to contact my credit card company. Still no response.\r\n\r\nI contacted my credit card company and eventually the temporary credit they issued to me became a permanent credit. Consumers do not deserve to be conned when spending their hard-earned money. We also should not have to spend hours and hours gathering evidence from websites, composing faxes and e-mails, answering questionnaires from our credit card company, and then playing the waiting game.

We didn't even make it all the way through the doors before one of the sales ladies stopped us and told us pretty rudely that the stroller wasn't allowed in the store. What do they expect you do to, hire a babysitter to go furniture shopping? Or just let the babies run around the store while we shop? I saw enough of their customer service right there. My mother in law was just as offended, she found her recliners at one of the other stores, and I'm waiting for my dining room set to come in.

I would definitely avoid this store. The sales people couldn't give a darn when we went in and then when we had questions about the products they didn't know anything and kept having to look in a binder, and then they still didn't know. It was hard enough to get someone's attention, but after they ""helped"" us, we didn't learn anything. Useless.

This is a little long but worth reading if you are pIanning to purchase furniture here. I recently bought a dining room set, 2 complete bedroom sets with new matress. The cost was $7,000.00 There was a question if one bedroom set set would fit or if we would like it on the room. I asked them specificaly what would happen. Their response was 'We'll just take it back and give you a in store credit'.Once it was delivered it was clear one set was to large for the room. That's when it all went wrong. The delivery person, who was very nice called the manager Sandra and informed me they would take it back but there was a 20% re-stock charge and a labor charge. After informing them they did not mention this when I asked what would happen in this scenerio. So....they they finally agreed to take it back but I had to pay a $90.00 labor fee which was not a written term on the sales order when I bought it. Anyway........they left the queen mattress and unwrapped it. They were closed the next 2 days. I went back in there next business day ONLY because I decided the room need a full size set. I of course expected them to take back the queen size and put it on the new set. AGAIN, here is where it got ugly. Sandra the manager said we could not return it at all because it was upwrapped. Again the never mentioned that when they left it. After getting very angry I told her they WOULD be taking the mattress back. It was never slept on, we have not even moved in yet. And there was nothing about if they upwrap your out of luck. I think this is justr a sneaky way of getting out of the return. Totally dishonest!! Sandra finally agreed to take the mattress back and we bought a full size matress, frame and armour. I originaly paid $599.00 for the queen matress and box spring. In the end they charged me $729.00 for a full size mattress with no box spring. We bought a new home after my Mom's home burned down in Atascadero on Oct 1,2009 and had a whole house to furnish. Needless to say we bought the rest from Style-House in Atascadero and Paso Furniture. Where we were treated honestly and professionaly. They missed out on a bunch of money because of their lack of honsestly and integrity. \r\n\r\nOne last word, Sandra the manager keep saying she could not do any thing to help because the owners where on a cruise. The terms said they took returns up till 5 days. I beleive she was just trying to stall the return and told her so.\r\n\r\nI WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT STORE AGAIN AND ADVISE YOU NOT TO AS WELL!!!!! \r\n\r\n\r\n

The furniture was delivered.\r\nThe problem I am having is with repairing my Lazyboy recliner. \r\nIt took three weeks for the repair representative to get back in touch with me. Another two weeks for them to look at it and order the parts. Another week to pick up the broken furniture. \r\nNow it has been two weeks since I have been without my recliner and no communication as to when to expect it. I tried to call and recieved no answer. \r\n\r\nTwo months to repair a recliner is to long. I wish I would have looked at their customer service reviews before I made my purchase here.\r\nI am so dissapointed.

I just bought my second piece of furniture from Boatman's and for me they are great. I will continue shopping there for any other furniture needs. They have a huge selection of high quality furniture.\r\nand the employees have always been very friendly but not intrusive.

I was treated horribly when I went furniture shopping at boatman's. The staff were incredibly rude to me. It is their loss as I recently bought a house and needed quite a bit of furniture. I would rather sit on the floor forever than spend one penny at this store.
