I'm so thankful for RC Country. It's got so many different kinds of hobbies to consider and the staff are very helpful. I've been going there for years. Like any store there might be an employee who is somewhat problematic. This has not been the case for RC Country for several years. They want to help you to enjoy the hobby your interested in the best way possible. They also do their absolute best to keep the prices down, which as you know is difficult with Internet prices to work against.

They have an amazing stock of things and if they don't have it they can order it for you. Their wealth of information is very good and if they don't know the answer they will do their best to find it for you.

I'm not staff or related to anyone at the store. I'm just a customer that is very thankful for their hard work and giving a balanced variety of options for our enjoyment.

I just visited this store for the first time. Sales help was very poor. Store help had the attitude that they could care less if a customer was there. Items were priced way too high based on what I've seen in the market. When I was checking out a used plane the salesman tried to give me a lecture when I turned the prop over. I won't be back.

I am STOKED I found this hobby shop! It is not close I live in Tracy,Ca but I run loads up there all the time and stop in when in the area. I have had nothing but GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE GEORGE IS THE MAN (guy behind the car counter) I took my vintage Team Losi XXX BK Edition in when they opened 10:30am and dropped the kit off ran my load on into Reno,Nv on the way back I stopped back by and GEORGE had it BUILT!!!!!! and the Price was perfect! These guys get busy and when they are focused in on somthing they work there butts off to get it done so I may stand there for a few minutes but then I just yell HEY! and I get there attention and they either tell me hang on or jump right on what ever I need. And thier selection is the best around the SAC. Area.

I got of RC back in the 90's and just recently got back into it and they spent alot of time helping me understand the new tech. Like brushless and lipo batteries and lipo chargers. I for one love the internet. and yes I pay alittle more at the store vs online but then again if you have half a brain then you know they got overhead to cover and I would reather pay a few more bucks for the FACE to FACE Friendly Transactions then just clicking a button all the time.

Nope I say 5 STARS!!!!!!!!!! For SELECTION and SERVICE! And just FYI they have a girl who works the cash register and she is real easy on the eyes and real nice as soon as I get the nerve up I might ask her what her name is LMAO!

. I was RC Country Hobbies customer for more than one year and I offered this store to my friends. I bought a RC helicopter almost 30% more expencive than other places. It has some problem that make a littel couse on it. I went ther to exchange or return it. After 45 minutes they refuse to do that. Ther was a person ther that seems should be the owner or manager. I herd that the man told to his worker "it is not our fult". The worker came back and offered me "they just can exchange it abnd I should pay half a price. I became so upset and tell tham i don't want it and I will not come over here. So I left the Helicopter ther and leave the store. My English is not good enough to talk to them more and I feel like a victim. They don't care about their costomer, They are expencive whit poor customer service and no return policy. I am sorry that I trust them. I will never go ther any more.

The worst hobby shop in town!!! By far the guys working at the counter are either too lazy or just don't care I went into the shop looking for 3 parts and described what I was needing to the "rep" who then proceeded to get the manufacturer book out flip it to the exploded view of my truck and hand it to me, not "Im not sure lets look it up" or "Do you know the part number?" so I look at the damn exploded view and think I found the right parts and with out even checking or anything he just grabs the parts and throws them on the counter and walks off not do you need anything else? any questions? No! I get home and much to my dismay none of the 3 parts are the right ones... This place blows, they look like they carry a lot of good stuff there but I wouldn't know because no one there is willing to help. this is like the 4th time I have been in there only because it is by my work but this is the final straw i will be making that longer drive to fast track hobbies in orangevale from now on.

I have to disagree with the previous email. I went to RC hobby to find a battery. I was pretty much ignored for quite awhile just to have the sales person tell me that they did not carry the battery. While I could undstand that part what I could not understand was they did not offfer any kind of option. After I showed him what kind of battery I needed he basically said we don't have them and walked away. Maybe he was having a bad day I don't know but I know I was not real happy about the experience. I will give them the beneift of doubt and go back again.

I am amazed at the bad reviews. I have never had a bad experience buying r/c products from this store. I have been flying models for 40 years and can tell you I appreciate being able to walk in and find what I need 99% of the time. Retail business is not an easy thing to do now a days with the customer always being right. Problem is, they are not always right. today's society is some of the most uneducated, take no responsibility for their own actions bunch of dicks I have ever seen. The guy who has been flying for 20 years and cannot tell a trainer from a piece of $hit, then blames the hobby shop for his problems falls under the above category, and to blame r/c country for the defects in the airplane is another way of spreading his wisdom on the rest of us. I have not Put together one kit that did not require some added labor or material to get it right, being a box of sticks or an ARF. Almost all aircraft manufacturers have some sub-standard materials or building practices incorporated in their product, you just have to be intelligent enough to fix it. I guess since I spent a little over $1000.00 0n my last ARF kit I should not have had to change a thing but I sure as hell did to avoid any kind of airframe failure, or problems with say for instance the canopy falling off. What I should have done was put it together with the substandard parts, flown it until the canopy blew off and then wrote a crappy review about one of the best manufacturers of large scale 3-d aircraft out there and demanded they take the airplane back. I drive 35 to 45 minutes to get to r/c country for some of my supplies and will continue to do so. All you dip $hits who think the world is a perfect place, open a hobby shop of your own, fill it with employees and try to do as good a job at pleasing the customer as R/C country does.

I see a lot of people here complaining about customer service. I have to honestly tell you, maybe it's not them, maybe it's you!!

I get treated like a king at R/C Country, and not just because I actually buy things there. Even when needing a lot of help (and time) for a low-dollar purchase, nobody has ever made me feel belittled or has been rude to me.

Particularly helpful are Joe and Chuck! Need help getting your heli to fly? Joe will help you, even if it takes all day. Need help getting your engine to run right? Chuck will make it his top priority and personal duty to get it right. Everyone there is very helpful.

The selection at R/C Country is awesome. I'll bet they have more in stock than the catalog mail order joints. it is simply amazing how they will find what you need. if it is not in stock, they will order it and call you when it is in, you don't get stuck with shipping costs! Even the lady at the register is friendly and wants to make sure you found everything you need.It is a 1.2 hour drive for me, and worth every minute. They also don't mind if I call ahead and have them put things on hold for me to make sure I do not waste a trip. They do the 'shopping' for me and have a nice, neat pile waiting for me at the register when I arrive. Talk about SERVICE.

So, stop being hateful, and stop bringing your Tower Hobbies purchases to them and asking for them to help you with it, that is unreasonable. If you went to an auto repair shop with parts you mail ordered and asked them to help you install them for free, how would you expect the mechanic to respond? Even IF the mechanic were nice to you, they would make fun of you after you left.

I've had great experiences with them over the last six years I've been going there, and I know many friends that love going here too. I particularly enjoy the G-scale model trains, but I love looking at all the model airplanes and boats too. They also have a great selection of hardware for model-making.

I've been going to RC Country for about 2 years and have found it to carry just about everything I need for RC planes. There are times when I've had to wait for assistance, but it was because the store employee was helping someone else. Buying RC parts requires the buyer to be specific about what he or she needs, and sometimes it takes the sales person some time before they understand exactly what you need. I've been very pleased with their service and their inventory.

Just because my RC car was not purchased there, one of the employee handled my car like it's piece of crap. He cussed a lot and telling me that it's a piece of crap (Cranking my engine furiously like I did anything wrong to him). Telling me I shouldn't have purchase my car in the first place. I'm new to the hobby and I didn't expect to see such narrow minded people to degrade my interest and make me feel bad. I understand that RC Country has to make money but putting down customer's pride and handling customer's product like it's made out of titanium steel has shown that all they care about is the people who buy from them (I think this is a rookie mindset in which they need to train their employees about how to sale properly to customer. The only positive thing is that they have a wide selection of toys to choose from.

I'm sure most of you don't know but several years ago RC Country had a Pedophile working for them.

They ignored all the obvious signs and customer complaints...

The man is now serving 20 years for molesting two little girls from Modesto that he meet while working at RC Country. Who do you blame??? The owners thats who!!!

go to Fast track Hobbies, don't waist your time or money at RC country.
It's to bad they have the best selection, but their, (should say some) employees
will sell you the wrong parts, then when they don't work they wont take them back.
More than once I have gone back and forth about if a part is the right one or not, and when I get home to install, (in which I have to remove the parts from the package) they don't work and I'm screwed because I opened them.
Need less to say I havent been to RC country in a year.
I chose to drive to Citrus Heights to Fast track, ( i live about two city blocks from RC Country) I can sit there and ask questions for 45 min. and never get an additude, they also let you work on your RC there if you need, and they let me use some of their tools! That's unheard of at most RC stores.
One person who was very helpful at RC Country was a guy by the name of George, at the time he had a real job so he only worked there on Mondays, but he turned out to be a real stand up guy.
There is one a$$ hole that worked in cars, he's short, wears glasses, and is older, he IS the reason I will NEVER go back to RC Country, he must be a friend of the owners, because he dosen't know his a44 from a hole in the ground.
LOL!!!! Papi D,..... LOMFL!!!!!

Poor customer relations. Will let you stand there waiting for the next clerk and take other customers before you simply because they happen to be good looking women. Very few answers to questions and even less knowledge regarding products.

I have kinda been looking into radio control stuff for a new hobby so I stopped into R/C Country to see what they had to offer. Man was I surprised. This place is like the size of a super market only full of hobbys and toys instead of food. There were planes hanging from the ceiling and some pretty cool paints on the walls. If you haven't been there its worth the trip to check out the art work. Took me sometime to make my way around the different sections of the store, but was insured, by more then a few employees, they where ready to help when I had questions. Not sure if the rc hobby is for me yet, but I can tell you if your are into rc this is the place to go.

This place has a lot to offer except customer service. The airplane section is especially bad in customer relations. I'm a beginner in air plane models and wanted some advice on what parts to get for my used plane. All they were interested in were up-selling, and when I told them I did not want to get a new airplane, they pretty much stopped paying attention to me - they lost my business. I would rather go to Airborne Hobbies in North Sac or Hobbytown all the way in Vacaville. They don't deserve your business until they train their people or hire others with some people skills.

This store is great and has everything. They're mostly cool with the exception of one person. He's a pissed off little tyrant that works in the airplane side. When he's not chain-smoking in front of the store, he spends the better part of the day yelling at customers and driving off potential buisness. He walks around the store wound up super tight, avioding all eye-contact with customers, and rude doesn't even begin to describe his conduct. His face turns beat-red if you calmly ask even a simple question. Make sure your teminology is spot on, or he'll shoot you down with rude remarks, and his molester-mustache(with which he can give a ballsack one hell of a tickle), will begin trembling. I guess it's not a real big suprise. Any loser in his late 40's working in a "toy store" making minimum-wage would surely be pissed off, as the cicumstances of this arrangement would make getting layed impossible. Not to mention being able to make the rent payment in even the slumiest of living conditions. Hopefully mom doesn't complain about the noise of loud pornagraphy and drunken ranting coming from the basement on Friday night. Wonder if the managment will sh*t can this idiot before he drives out too much more money. Probably not, as he's been there a while and most certainly has no marketable job skills, other than that of a fluffer...

Probably not, as he's been there a while and most certainly has no marketable job skills, other than that of a fluffer...

The management staff is horrible. I would take your business to any place but here! The management watched while 2 clerks yelled at me, after the managment themselves had okayed something. The worst customer service EVER! They are not helpful with giving information. Order online....never go here!

Jury's still out, but - update 11-23: Aircraft side re-oreganized (pecking order) pretty good service - got what I wanted, no up-sales push, all questions answered freindily.
B4 this date:
As in the other two reviews, staff needs training in customer service. I have been to the Car and the Airplane side, sometimes I can wait - right in front of a clerk - 20 minutes or more before even being acknowledged. If you don't have the latest greatest and are not racing, don't even speak with the car side - they don't have a clue when it comes to the average cul-de-sac/lawn racer, and lack any sensitivity for newbies. The aircraft side is getting a make-over and has been better (Nov05) rthan in past - but again, if you're not a club-field flyer or into the high-end stuff, do your research online, go there to buy in person.
If you want a better contrast, they don't have all the stuff, and only about half the attitude - Hobby-Town in Rocklin... but a long drive. :-(
And in my travels, Awesome hobby in Healdsburg is just what it says - what little stock it has is the good stuff, stuff you might need, and priced how you'd like to buy.

PROS: Pretty well stocked, fair prices
CONS: some staff has a 'Tude

Well, having just got into RC flying this summer, I wasn't sure what to expect...but I didn't think it was inherent in rc hobbies to have sales clerks who are rude. There is one that is called by the hobbiest in town "Mr. Personality". THis is because he refuses to provide any assistance, gives the wrong information, tells you to find things yourself and then smiles fakely as you leave... They do have a good selection of aiplance parts however, and unfortunately they are the closest, by far to my house.

I am a "new to the hobby" rc plane builder. I have been looking for a shop like this one. They have everything... but the management or someperson in power, allows way to much personality in their airplane guys. I have had to wait up to 20 minutes for someone to help me only to be asked in as rude and abrupt a manner as possible " What do you want?!"

It is a shame because the other aspects of the business are great.

All I can say is "dude" you sell models to dopes like me, you are not a rock star, I do not want your autograph, just help in the store where you clerk.

I have found other stores in the area where people will help you and go above and beyond to make sure you get the right stuff.

PROS: great stuff
CONS: the guys that do airplanes are full of beans

Amazing customer service. Bruce spent about an hour helping us with an RC truck we bought from a friend. We bought a charger and brought it home and it didn't work so we took it back and he tested our battery and it worked so he replaced

I have purchased many things from R C Country hobbies in the past. My wife knew this and decided she would get me my Christmas gift from this location.

While in the car department, my wife specifically told them that this was a Christmas gift for me, and asked if there would be any issues with a return if I already had one of the items she purchased.

The answer was "No problems if you save the receipt".

Well it turns out, I already had two of the items she bought me. With the receipt in hand, I returned to the store after Christmas and attempted to return the items.

One of the the front end supervisors told me that I would absolutely not be getting my money back without a restocking fee as that was their store policy and had been posted in the store. She told me that was California state law, and attempted to convince me that she was doing me a favor by returning the items at all (even though I had the receipt from a few days earlier).

I told the supervisor that the employee in the car department assured my wife that there would be "no problem" with a return. She cut me off and would not let me continue. She proclaimed that her employees would never say such a thing as they know store policy. She would not listen to me further.

So there it is folks, they will lie to their customers to get their dollar. Be prepared if you call them on it though, because they can do no wrong. She basically told me that my wife of nine years is a liar.

Integrity and honesty are very important to me, that is why I married my wife and why R C Country hobbies will not get another dollar from my family.

Buyer Beware!

Pros: good assortment of products

Cons: Will lie straight to your face to get your dollar

As has already been said, the staff at R/C Country are not exactly customer service oriented. I first went there in 2002, but since then I would usually order from Tower Hobbies, or would go to Airborne Hobbies if I could.

They do have a good selection of things, and OK prices (though not as good as online of course), so if you need to pick something up, chances are they have you covered. If you aren't in a hurry for your item, I'd go with a drive to another shop or an online vendor that treats its customers with some respect.
Of course not all the clerks there are rude or un-helpful, but one person in particular is there more often than not, and he is not only always rude to just about everyone, but not terribly well informed, though he loves to hear himself talk anyway. Chances are good that if you are in the airplane department he is there. . .has a moustache, name starts with a C and rhymes with duck. . .steer clear of him if you can.

The electric airplane department guys seem better, though they tend to have new guys there that aren?t so bitter. I am fortunate that I don't generally have to ask them anything, other than if they have such and such in stock. . .if they don't, and I?m talking to this particular guy, I usually get to hear about why the item I'm asking about is junk, and that if I was an experienced modeler I would know that etc. That's the sort of comments that I usually get from this guy, and I've been in RC and full scale flying for 23 years. I guess I'll never be good enough to talk to him.

Normally I?d try to support my local brick and mortar hobby shop rather than go online for most of my purchases but when I am treated poorly I don?t have much trouble going back to tried and true TowerHobbies which has been good to me for over two decades. I pay good prices, I?m treated like my business is appreciated, if I have a question I can get an honest answer.

Pros: Large selection of all sorts of all sorts of things

Cons: Lousy customer service and product knowledge by a vocal few (at least in the aircraft department)
