I've had great experiences with Dr. Peterson. We bring all our animals there and the technicians are always kid to us. They remember all my pets and their names. We found a stray kitten that was about 2 weeks old, the technicians gave us excellent advice on how to take care of her. They told us what to do and the process to keep her healthy. During her tests, they gave us calls to tell us what was going on. When that sme cat die we brought in the body and they accepted it free of charge, also they were very sympathetic to our loss. Later on we recieved a handwritten card expressing their condolences. Finally when our house was robbed, our dog was injured in the burglary. The burglar kickd her in the knee and dislocated it. Dr Peterson made it his first priority the next day. I highly recommend Dr Peterson and still bring our animals to him this day.

Dr. Peterson and his staff are always professional and understanding of my situation. My dog is very hard to handle, yet they are always good with him and take it slow. I have been going to Dr. Peterson for over 10 years. He is the only vet I know that will give you alternatives to treatment if something is too expensive for your budget. He goes over the animal's problem, what he feels would be the best way to treat the problem, offers alternatives, and acknowledges concerns with alternative treatments so that you know what could possibly happen. I have tried going to other vets all over California, and out of all of them, Peterson and his staff genuinely care about your animals and want to help. He is the only vet I recommend...and probably will be for years to come.
Thank you Dr. Peterson and staff for everything you've done for all my pets over the years.

Pros: helpful and reasonable

Cons: parking is tight

I found Dr. Peterson to be shallow and uncaring. I have a frightened and angry cat, who is not very easy to handle. Dr. Peterson was terrible, although his staff were extreemly experienced in handling, little beasties.

My cat may be difficult but Dr. Peterson's obvious dislike for the cat was apparent. Dr. Peterson did what ever he could to pad the bill so that he could keep me coming back, never quite getting well.

He told me that he would have to tranquilize my cat to get a CBC panel which is a very standard test...I thought ok, but 1000.00 give me a break. I would ask a question, he would shrug his sholders, what ever he would say.

It is sad to think that VETS like him still exsist.

I left mad and crying, I went directly to Alhambra Animal Hospital behind Target on W. Main. They worked me right in and I saw a wonderful vet, who took my cat and did all the tests and was smiling and competent. And well unless you have a lot of money and a lot of time tow waste, I would avoid this QUACK!

Pros: He spoke english

Cons: oh just about everything, this guy has the bedside manor of a bed pan full of sh*t

I strongly do not recommend Dr. Peterson or his clinic. I know this long, but I sincerely hope that by sharing my experience will help someone. I took my Bichon Furball to Dr. Peterson at the Las Tunas Animal Hospital on 1/21/08. Furball had blood in his urine and a grown on his back leg. Furball had a blood test to see if he could have surgery to remove the growth, but the blood test came out with results that showed Furball had a weak liver so couldn??t have surgery. Dr. Peterson gave us 2 medications for Furball to take for 2 weeks, we were to return to do another blood test and see if he could have surgery. The night before the two weeks was up, Furball started to get worse, and would lie on the floor with blood and urine. Now looking back and figuring out myself (keep in mind I am not a vet), they were all the signs of a possible UTI/bladder stone. We trusted Dr. Peterson, listened to him, and did exactly what he said. He never gave Furball any medication for a UTI/bladder stone, instead just wanted to make sure he could have surgery to remove the growth. On 2/6/08 I took Furball back to Dr. Peterson for a check up, he still did not give Furball a diagnosis and just gave him another blood test. That night, Furball suddenly got very weak and collapsed. He couldn??t walk anymore, an hour later he died. Dr. Peterson saw Furball that DAY he died, he still could not tell us Furball??s condition and could not tell that Furball was near death. I question his veterinary skills. Now I question the medication he gave Furball, was that 2 weeks a waste? Why did he not do anything for a possible UTI/bladder stone, he is the veterinarian ?? he should be able to tell through the numerous tests he put Furball through. The worst part of this clinic is after Furball??s death, we requested Furball??s medical records so that we might be able to bring them else where to figure out why he died. Any pet owner knows how painful it is to lose a loved one and how it is necessary to gain closure. The two technicians who work there, Sandy and Debbie, were unsympathetic to my dog??s death and refused to give me a copy of his medical records and will only give me a ??summary? which I have yet to receive. They stated that it is their hospital??s policy that no record can be released to the dog??s owners. I don??t understand why I can??t have a copy of Furball??s records, isn??t it legally my right as an owner? If they did nothing wrong then what is there to hide? My daughter and I have asked numerous times to speak to Dr. Peterson himself but he refuses to return any of our phone calls and nor talk to us about what happened to Furball. We are always told ??he is in surgery?, ??he is with a patient?, ??he has left the office? every single time we call to speak with him. We even went in person to wait for him one day, and he still refused to come out to talk to us. I would assume as a veterinarian, he should love animals and be sympathetic to his patients and their owners. We do not want to sue or get any money, but only to hear from him what happened. He will not even have the decency to talk to us over the phone and explain to us what might have happened, which is making Furball??s death very difficult for my family. It also makes us question what he has to hide. I went to the Arcadia Small Animal Hospital to request Furball??s records and the technician there made me a copy immediately and even told me ??I??m sorry you have to go through this? referring to the difficulty we are going through in trying to get the records from Dr. Peterson??s office. If Dr. Peterson would just talk to us and tell us what happened to Furball and said I??m sorry I understand what you??re going through, we would have a better peace of mind and not be going through a lawyer to obtain Furball??s medical records. I do not recommend Dr. Peterson and this clinic at all, I hope sharing my own experience with Furball??s death will help someone in the future.

Cons: the whole experience was horrible

I love the vet here. He's so nice and does a great job with my animals. Been seeing him for years. I recommend this place to all my friends! Reasonably priced too! You can't beat that!
