""My group of ten celebrated our annual Christmas party at Buds Seafood Grille. The beef was very tender, the best! Food was excellent and furthermore, the service was great.\r\nI received my early Christmas present when my purse was found & returned to me. I accidentally left it in the ladies restroom.( I put my purse on the corner table away from the door. I suggest the management provide a hook on the door, so the seniors, like me, will see the purse before exiting).\r\nWhat a blessing I received that day.Bless those honest people for making my Christmas very meaningful.\r\nI definitely recommend this restaurant for an excellent meal.We will be back!""

I was in Stockton for work and the Internet was down at the hotel so I had to venture into the back of the magazine in the hotel room to find someplace to eat. I ended up at Bud's because the rest of the places looked too fancy for my mood that night and their ad said that it was a casual family atmosphere. I felt totally comfortable getting a table for one at Bud's. The clam chowder was so delicious, the clams were big and fresh and it was homemade. I ordered the crab and shrimp louie and that was great even though there were lettuce icebergs a float. The thousand island dressing was made in house as well and was one of the best dressings I have ever had. The desserts are also all made in house. I ordered the german chocolate cake to go. It wasn't as chocolaty as I would have liked but still good. The servers are great and you can tell that they know the regulars. The manager was making me nervous though because he kept pacing by my table. I would visit Bud's again if I was in Stockton and I would order a big bowl of clam chowder!

One of the best seafood joints in Stockton. A little pricey but well worth it. Food is great, drinks are mixed well and clam chowder is excellent. A must for Stockton.

We visit Bud's Seafood at least once a month, and if Sherrie(waitress) is on duty our ice cold wine shows up before we order dinner. The Ceasar salad is the best, with the freshest romaine lettuce. The main course is always delicious. The sourdough french bread is great. The service is very friendly.

Pretty good. We lucked out and ordered the Lobster special. Yum! And it was pretty cheap. Lobster tail for only $19.95..wait a minute, is that a good deal? Well it was worth it. Love their seafood combination plate too. Oh one note, don't get their salads...think yellow/white iceberg lettuce :-( Instead order their chowder..it's pretty good.

I've been to Bud's several times. I love the clam chowder. I must say my favorite dishes are the non seafood dishes. The chicken marsala is outstanding and so is Bud's beef. We went this Tuesday for the lobster dinner. An 8 oz tail for twenty bucks. You can't beat that. It was cooked perfectly. Not crazy about the boiled potatoes or the veggies. A little on the bland side. I noticed while perusing the menu that the prices have gone up. I've always had good service here. Cheesecake is also amazing.

""While the food is not flashy, it is consistent and good. My favorite things to order here are the clam chowder (haven't had any better - even on the East Coast), whatever fresh fish is available (I ask the food server), the Bud's Beef - which is amazing, and the Chicken Marsala. The salads are great, too. For dessert, the cheesecake is outstanding, as is the flan and the pots de creme. I also love to come here for Sunday Brunch -- their scrambles, quiche and eggs benedict are awesome.\n\nStockton is not the Bay Area and the restaurants unfortunately have to cater to their demographic. Some of these reviews are unfair. I've had my share of overpriced and underwhelming meals in SF. Bud's is a gem and one of the few family owned restaurants still standing in Stockton among the many crappy chains that have opened.""

I got the pesto filled salmon today and it was great. I normally don't care for steak fries but I enjoyed these. The sour dough bread and butter kept coming and so did the refills YAY The iced tea was perfect too. I would like to come way more often and try all the fish

My wife surprised me on a date night and we went to an old favorite of her's Bud's Seafood. Loved everything from the rolls to the desert. Awesome food and great service with a smile. Well worth every penny spent there that night without a doubt. I must say they also have some of the best Clam chowder I have eaten. Good place to stop for a hearty flavorful lunch too.

Bud's touts itself as a Seafood Grille but isn't shabby when it comes to other choices. Moderate to somewhat expensive price tags are tempered a bit via a lunch time rather dinner hour experience: a bowl of their truly delicious clam chower with a special salad or sandwich gets the nod here.\r\n\r\nTheir special marinated beef-medallions of slightly sweetish, wine-inflected tenderloin appears both in an amped up steak sandwich and taking pride of place on the smallish dinner menu. Chicken breast, a few well-prepared Italian choices and a good half dozen choices in grilled/baked/broiled or fried seafood, scampi and the like all provided above average execution.\r\n\r\nMy favorite, besides the chowder? A very decent Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, on the soft, hoagie-style bread made famous by City of Brotherly Love single name eateries like Pat's, Jim's and Geno's.\r\n\r\nAtmosphere is a bit yuppified, some counter help and waitstaff seem to need a refresher course on the concept of Service as an Art. Patrons with Dockers will receive better treatment than ones 'slumming' in denim, no matter how freshly washed-dressy casual is the play.

I am a former server of Bud's Seafood. I agree with the first and second reviews. As a former server I will admit that some of the people that work there are incredibley rude. Honestly though, in our defense, customers could be a little more polite to us. There are a lot of people out there that go to a restaraunt and treat the person or persons serving them like dirt. Some people don't think that servers and bussers and the kitchen staff really work all that hard. If you've ever been in the restaraunt business then you know that one of the most challenging jobs is being a server. Some honestly believe that servers don't do any work, they just memorize menus and serve you. Not true at all. Servers are some of the most hard working people in the entire restaraunt. And just so you know, there are other people waiting for their food ahead of you. You being rude doesn't make your food come any faster. We have no control over how fast the kitchen cooks. Unless you've ever worked as a server and lived off of the generosity of others, don't tell us how to do our jobs. Be nice. \r\n\r\nBud's does have delicious food. Everything that I've ever had there is so yummy. I'm not just saying that because I used to work there, even before I worked there I loved the food. If you're ever in Stockton I highly recommend Bud's.\r\n\r\nI hope that no one takes this personally. I just thought that everyone should know that restaraunt staff are people too. Yelling doesn't help, contrary to belief, and no, we can't make your food come fast if you ordered 5 seconds ago. Please take in to consideration that we have feelings and they do get hurt.

We went there because it had been written up in the tourist magazine as the best seafood in Stockton. The food was overpriced. Small portions and not very flavorful. We arrived about 6pm to a relatively empty restaurant, when asked if we had a reservation, which we did not, we were seated in the bar area next to the restroom, as if it was the only table available. When we left about 45 min later there were still lots of empty tables. Very disappointed, will not return.

I'm a food snob, that's what my friends/family call me. I start picking from the top.. the waitress, water, appetize. Irs, bread(if any), main course, and dessert. I tell people what I like, what I don't, and how it could be better. All in my own opinion of course. Starting with the sourdough bread and challenge butter(which I know that has to be the brand). I loved it! It's soft and yet chewy. I thought I was in a coastal region somewhere overlooking a pier. I could have eaten that all night and for those people that 'bread"" is their weakness, there you go. I ordered the "" Buds Beef"" the first time. Talk about an explosion in your mouth(only the good kind) and talk about the dancing going on in my mouth! Heaven! So tender and flavorful! I have been there like 5 times and I love that they are as picky as I am. The salads are cold and crisp with those lovely beets you never see in a salad anymore. I have since ordered the Red Snapper with a bay shrimp/green onion beurre blanc sauce. Holy goodness! I ate every bite and I never eat my whole plate. It was a special but I recommend they put it on the menu. I have also had the Chicken Marsala, Cioppino(fri nights only), and their pepper sauced New York which was good but the peppercorns were a bit unpleasant to chew on. For dessert, get their Flan or German Choc Cake. They have a very diverse menu and for a small town, it has something special there in Lincoln Center.

What a nightmare of a dinning experience that I had on a Monday night for a birthday dinner with a nearly empty restaurant. While the food was mediocre the service was awful. The server was rude and when my 8 year old niece took a little long to decide on what she wanted for diner our server sighed and then snatched the menus out of our hands as she was much occupied with something else which left us with a sour taste in our mouths. We were nearly done with our diners before she came back to the table to see if we had needed anything else. I am not one to complain so we finished out our meals and I was so disappointed with the service I had phoned the next day to speak to the general manager who was just as rude as the server. I will be sure to warn my friends about my experience.

Having eaten at Bud's many times, I think their greatest asset is the consistency and freshness of their food. The service is good, not overly attentive. If you like cioppino, get there early on Friday.
