My three children (now ages 22, 19 and 11) went to Dr. Willens for many years. I trusted him for my son's orthodontics and my children's dental care. He is a children's dentist. It wasn't until I took my older children to an adult dentist that I found his care had been lacking. My daughter has had to have several root canals. I'm sure some of that is a result of her own health habits and genetic makeup, but Dr. Willens never warned us or counseled us about future problems. My biggest complaint is that he totally missed a serious defect in my son's upper palate. The adult dentist saw it right away and told us how to have it corrected. It was a simple procedure performed by a peridontist. Dr.Willens just ignored it. Dr. Willens said he had done all he could to straighten my son's teeth, but totally left out the fact that the defect was working against his expensive orthodonture! Dr. Willens has a very busy practise. He seems to do only what is necessary, treating only surface issues. He seems to enjoy making healthy teeth straight. If your child has extremely heathly teeth and just needs someone to clean them, then he is the dentist for you. I have taken my younger son away from his practise.
PROS: Very friendly staff, caters to children
CONS: Too many patients, doesn't take time to do a thorough job.
