One of the few drive in's around and here in riverside county we have two. Its a good place to take the kids out grab a pizza or a bag or burgers and turn up the car radio and watch the film from the back of your truck bed ,lawn chair or in the comfort of your car. The restrooms are very poorly kept up and the snack bar is comparable to the restrooms. But I've always had fun and it a different way to enjoy a flick. But if your looking for the same quality you would expect from a theater you'll be disappointed. But if you are looking for a fun way to see a few movies have all your favorite food and the comfort of your own car than this might be for you!

They don't count the amount of cars they are letting into the movies. We paid and drove around for 20 minutes looking for somewhere to park. There were no spots left. We parked behind the snack bar and my husband stayed with the kids while I ran in. I told them there were no spots back and we wanted our money back so we could just leave. The snack bar attendant told me to walk over to the pay booth and they would give us money back. My husband walked to the booth while me and the kids waited. They told him in order to get a refund we had to drive out the exit and get back in line to the booths. We waited in that line for a long time just to get our refund. There were a dozen other cars doing the same. We got to the drive in at 8:00 and did not get to leave until 9:50. Beware: the way they decide a theatre is full is when people start leaving, and if your one of those people be prepared to spend the length of the movie that you hoped to see on trying to get a refund! The bathrooms are horrid! Most people hanging around there look like ex cons and gang members, and there are no security guards in the theaters or at the snack bar. The food is like eating at an overpriced gas station, and is prabably the cause of the smell in the bathrooms.

I went here as a teenager and I still take my family here. Sure it may be older but it is the last of the best. I perfer to go to the drive in over walk ins anytime.
I'm so glad that the Van Buren's never sold the business and made the choice to keep the family business open.
You get 2 movies for the price of one, they offer a variety of food at the snack bar or bring your own.
Thanks again for staying open!!

A flashback to my teenage years and the same prices for food as back then. Amazing snack bar prices but quite a line so get there early. This is an hour away from our home but well worth it. This was the only place we would go when the children were infants. But we have kept going as they grow just for the plan old fun of watching a movie on the big screen in your car!

This is the last of the classic drive-in theatres. The nightly crowd is a little shady and the restrooms and snack bar probably aren't the most sanitary places on the planet. You spend most of your time in the car though, so who cares. Two movies per screen and it is real cheap per person. the sound comes in over your radio so you don't even have to expose yourself to the weather.

Bathrooms/snack bar not very clean but the food is good.
It's an inexpensive way to take the whole family out.
Two movies per screen most nights.

They usually keep R rated movies together so you can avoid them if there are other good movies on the other screen.

The Van Buren Drive In Theatre is typical, I feel, as far as drive-in theatres go. There are only two screens so showings are limited. There are not always the newest movies showing. The facilities are pretty shady, but you're in your car so it doesn't really matter. Overall, it's still a fun place to go on a date or take the kids to.

PROS: It's always fun to go to the drive-in
CONS: A little out-dated
