I live 4 bocks away from here and have been using Dieters since 2005. I have a Boxster 2001 and have been treated fair and honestly by this Family run business. And they have been doing this for years. I am a Law Enforcement officer as well and highly recommend these guys (and Galls), as the owners 2 daughters are the first people you talk with when you call or stop in.

I am an avid mechanic. I know what costs what, and how to do most of my own work. I can do everything short of dropping in a new motor, but my tools are a little limited. That being said, I only take my car to a shop when I need major tools- an engine hoist, bearing press, etc.

So... when I needed 2 new rear wheel bearings (or the bearing press to install them) I made sure to price around for the most reasonable shop. I tried everywhere in san diego and Dieters was just about half the price (for this job) than everyone else quoted me. They took the time to check the "hours" (or mechanical hours which a certain job flags) on the computer, and DID NOT just size me up and see how much money they could sucker out of me.

This place is an honest shop, with master mechanics, for real DRIVERS vehichles. I am a recently graduated student who has no ties with this shop. I was shopping for a good, honest, and cheap, place to bring in my car for major work- and I found it.

Who are you going to trust... a college kid who knows his cars- shopping for an honest deal, and a female porsche driver who was treated with respect and utmost professionalism,

or some random angry Mercedes driver- who was complaining about money???? I don't even know if a broke benz driver actually exists. Dieters is mainly Porsche and BMW so I could see why they allegedly might have charged a tiny bit more for Benz service- as would taking your benz to a Honda shop, or an audi shop.

If you actually shop around, you will see that Dieters rocks! Honest, reliable, trusted.

Also, look at the 3 bad reviews- they are all anonymous. Smells like BS to me.

I am a single female with a Porsche. Prior to discovering Dieters, I had taken my car to a few other places here in San Diego for maintenance and/or repairs. I was majorally ripped off by several of these independent Porsche repair places. Because of my prior bad experiences, initially I was quite reluctant to have my car worked on at Dieters. But that is all behind me now. The staff at Dieters is very honest and very thorough. When I pick my car up from Dieters, I never leave feeling like I was ripped off or taken advantage of. They never make me feel inadequate and they actually take the time to explain the mechanics of my vehicle and/or the service they performed and why. I am always recommending Dieters to other Porsche owners and will continue to do so because they are truly the best. It is truly a blessing, from a single female's viewpoint, to know and have a honest mechanic, one that you can trust.

great service have heard lots of good stuff from others about this place too. have to write more to leave a review so here it is. they fix bmw and mercedes with a steady hand
