Been coming here for so many years with my dad. We work on landscaping and it just so happens we are starving by the lunch time hour. We come here almost every Wednesday and we both get "Super Tostada de Lengua", amazing taste and so much

First time at El Abajeno, met the manager Arthur. I was so glad to see chorizo on the menu. I got quevos con chorizo in a burrito with rice and beans. It was a huge portion (2 meals for me) topped it with their spicy sauce. Their tortilla

Pros: Chorizo and Fresh Tortilla Chips

Makes the biggest burritos on the west side. Great food, interesting environment, some parking available. We don't go often, but when we do go, we are never disappointed.

We've been El Abajeno customers for about 25 years now, and you can often expect a line practically out the door. I am a BIG fan of their soft shell carnitas taquito with meat sauce. My native friends have confirmed that the food is AUTHENTIC and muy bien!!!

You know a place is good when you can't eat the food fast enough. I just inhaled two of El Abajeno's signature carnitas tacos, and can barely remember what they looked like. Oh yeah: they were stuffed, and I do mean STUFFED, with shredded

Pros: Carnitas tacos to die for

Cons: Other than off-peak hours, be prepared to wait.

I have been a loyal customer of El Abajeno for the past 20 years. If you go around lunch time, there will be a long line out the door. I have no problems waiting because the food is remarkable. The El Abajeno burrito is huge and it taste excellent. Sometimes I would drive 20-30 miles to have some good ole food at a reasonable price. The burrito cost around $7.00 but it can last you for two meals, that's how big it is. I'm never able to finish a burrito in one sitting. I would highly recommend you try this place. It's the bomb

I was driving around with my cousin one sunday morning and we decided to stop here for lunch since it's about 100 feet from a gas station. When we walked in it was extremely busy as it is also located about 200 yards from a church. It was tough to get a seat but we could see why. I ordered the "Super Tostada with Chicken" and man was it SUPER. It was huge. They also have fresh water made so I had watermelon and that too was really good. I give it a three because I didn't like the fact that it was so busy it took a while to get a seat, but the bussers and people taking the orders were more than happy to clean up a table as soon as it got up in order for me to be seated. Will be returning on a less busy day.

I have dined at El Abajeno for 25 years. I now live in Port Townsend, WA, but consider the food at "El Ab" worth the flight to Los Angeles. Four reasons: (1) authentic atmosphere (nothing pretentious, really a Mexican cafeteria), (2)

Pros: Authentic Mexican cafeteria food, friendly staff, security guard outside, orders to go

Cons: Sometimes a wait, no reservations taken, but worth it

Try the chile rellenos here, they are the best ever. And the grease is THE POINT! i actually haven't been there in years, been out of the area, but am going to go sometime next week. i remember it as a hole in the wall, with a line out

Yes, it's true, I've been dining at El Abajeno for about 30 years. It's been in the same location the whole time, but used to literally be a tiny whole in the wall. I now live in NJ. Anytime I fly to LA, it's the first place I go. I

All of their food tastes great and is really a bargain for the amount of food you are given. Their Abajeno Burrito is enough to feed two hungry people and it is always made fresh in front of your face, the line is long during lunch, but

If you can forgive the lame salsa bar, this place offers some fantastic food. And this is real Mexican - no gobs of cheddar cheese found here!

Their signature carnitas taquitos are usually incredible - tons of just slightly dry
