I just checked in to the ER and left due to long wait and very unprofessional manner of their nurses. I came in for my painful left ear, and one of the nurses asked me if I had a bad taste bud and checked my lungs. THAT'S IT!!!! She left and grab a blanket to cover her legs and body but she never asked me if I feel cold. And she sat around for more than 30 minutes eating something while myself sitting on the bed trying to control and stop the pain. She doesn't know how to comfort her patients. I just wished she doesn't have a children.

Having seen the radiation oncology department, my concerns were confirmed. I have long term experience with cancer treatment facilities both large and small. The smaller facilities, mainly community hospitals have entered into this primarily outpatient service because of the potential income they can produce. Although they can charge the same as an advanced cancer center such as USCF or Stanford ,they cannot provide the service. It requires a long term commitment and dedication and the ability to develop the technology and retain the qualified staff. This is not evident in Modesto. Cancer is very serious, the patient needs to understand where the best care is and be referred there for treatment. Although inconvenient to travel to these larger centers only there is the best care received.

I've been down to the ER many times in the last several years. It's usually a hit and miss with the wait time. Average time to be seen by a Dr. is usually 1 1/2 hours. However, despite the long wait, the quality of care Memorial gives is top notch. I also delivered a baby there last year, and there facility/care was worlds better than Kaiser in the bay area. I would definitely recommend Memorial. Not always fast, but definitely friendly and efficient.

I had to go to the emergency room due to an ovarian cyst. I was very pleased with how thorough they were. I even had to come back the next morning to be re-checked. Most places would have sent me to my regular doctor and I would have had to wait for an open appointment. I highly recommend Memorial Hospital.

Memorial has very good and caring nurses. They seem to care about the patients. The hospital has been remodeled and has expanded its parking with shuttle service.

I've been to the ER with one of my kids a couple times. One time, the room had tissues all over the place. There were not enough chairs for the patients. My daughter had a fever of 105.1 and it took us over 3 hours to be seen. She was only 2 years old at the time.

Both of my kids were born at Memorial. One stayed in the ICN for 11 days, which was staffed with some wonderful nurses. My son came within an hour of our arrival and the nurses were wonderful. One was ready to deliver him herself because the doctor hadn't showed up. Very clean, love the new private rooms, if your lucky to get one.
