Wow! What a Suprise!
Was I surprised to find such a beautiful hotel in this area. We found it by accident. It is a beautiful hotel and decorated in Pottery Barn Style, the rooms are spacious and very clean. Plus a free full breakfast the next morning. I would recommend this to everyone who needs a hotel in this vicinity. I give it 5 stars!

Nice hotel at a good price
I found the Moorpark after trying numerous other hotels in the San Jose/Santa Clara area, and it was a nice surprise. Room rates are very reasonable for hotels in the area -- frequently less than $150 per night and occassionally even lower if you can find a deal on a discount site. Rooms are very modern, clean and comfortable, and the staff has always been very friendly. It does have a pool and indoor gym, but both are quite small and not reasons to visit the hotel. Location is great if you are working/visiting areas in the South Bay and Silicon Valley.
PROS: Modern, Clean, Good Value, Convenient
CONS: Not great pool or gym facilities

Moorpark Hotel!
What interested me most about this hotel was that it was surrounded by many attractions. My relatives from out of town stayed at the Moorpark Hotel and after a few visits to this place, I became very fascinated. Nearly within walking distance is a huge mall and other little stores and attractions. Although the stay wasn't exactly cheap, I think it is a great place to stay. The service was friendly to say the least and it's an excellent place to enjoy the sites.

One of the best hotels in San Jose
This hotel is GORGEOUS and I would totally reccomend to anyone who has the money to spend on a swank establishment.
They have easy check in with friendly staff, valet parking, a restaurant and gorgeous rooms. The decor of the lobby and the rooms are just incredible. They also have a turn down service in the evening where they turn down the sheets on your bed for you and also bring you some mints chocolates.
The Moorpark hotel is one of the few hotels that still has a fully stocked honor bar (I rarely see them in Hyatts or Marriotts anymore), but if you don't want the temptation, then just ask them to not give you the key to the bar.
PROS: Great staff, great decor, turn down service, honor bar
CONS: Only 4 stories high unlike most downtown hotels(so no view), a bit pricy

Great romantic boutique hotel for a weekend
I normally do not write reviews, but I really wanted to take the opportunity to rave about this quaint little boutique hotel in santa clara. I picked this place to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and wanted to get away from the typical dorm room scene. Being a graduate student on financial aid, paying $300 a night at some other upscale places, like in SF or monterey, was out of the question. Then I came across this place. For around $100 a night, we got an amazing, very well appointed room. I have stayed at resorts and hotels all over the world, and the room would go toe-to-toe with any of the other guest rooms (obviously excluding suites). The place has a pool and hot tub, and some other amenities we didn't take advantage of. The best part was we truly received 4-star service. I made reservations online stating that it was my girlfriend's birthday, and the staff went above and beyond what was required, and totally exceeded my expectations. When we came to our room, there was a chilled bottle of champagne waiting for us, and the staff had purchased a cake and candles and left it in the mini fridge. It really made the evening. Being locals we did a night on the town in san jose and the surrounding area and retired back to our room in the evening after using the hotel's pool and hot tub. I can't overemphasize what a great value this stay was, and the staff showed a level of service of a 4-star hotel.
Cons: Not a lot to do in the immediate area, but if you have a car who cares? You can get on 280 and get access to all silicon valley has to offer.

Hollywood trendy meets San Jose
By looking at the location, you wouldn't think that San Jose has it's newest gem right inside those doors. I was greeted at checkin by the General Manager of the Moorpark, Jorge, who explained to me if there was anything I needed I was welcomed to call him directly. The decor in the rooms and in the common areas are way too beautiful for San Jose...more like Beverly Hills. The billards room on the 2nd floor is a classic and a brillant idea. I entertained clients with cocktails and billards there...not really work, huh?---I travel a good bit, staying anywhere from the Ritz-Carlton to the Four- Seasons, and I am very hard to impress. Congrats, Moorpark. Somehow you seemed to pull off the impossible.
