I have to say the reviews are hilarious..the food is bland at best..I have had better food visiting the nursing home. The Owner is rude, and food is horrible..I WOULD NEVER TELL ANYONE TO EAT THERE..GO DOWN THE STREET THERE IS WAY BETTER..

They have the best veggie sandwich out there! I havent tried anything else there though because I like their classic vegetarian so much. The woman that owns it is very friendly too!

Pros: great food, speedy service

I've been to Sydney's about two dozen times and originally I came in because my my brother's girlfriend was the head chef there. She has since then moved to Italy, but I have been coming back regularly because the Portobello Sandwich calls out my name every time I turn on Harbor in downtown Fullerton. It's so filling! And for someone who's 6'3" and a committed meat-gnawer, to say that, it means a lot. The mushroom is marinated, then grilled and the succulent patty is then put on a fresh, fresh, fresh bun smothered with sun-dried tomato dressing. I think I was actually in danger of OD'ing on that thing once when I ordered it twice in one day! lol.

But besides that favorite of mine, they have other vegatarian and vegan dishes that are great, like the mediterranean sandwhich, the "no-tuna" melt and the BBQ-"not beef." They bake their own muffins and cookies and have vegan doggie treats as well since the owner is a dog person (the place is named after her late pet).

When you sit there and enjoy your healthy grub, you see a LOT of new people come in on a regular basis, who gush about all of the recommendations they have gotten from their friends. And, a lot of these people are happy campers who are friendly and chatty, so be ready to meet some!

I know from the inside scoop that the owner is working double and triple shifts to make this place profitable after she opened it only a year and a half ago. She's a multiple-cancer survivor and has opened this place as a dream venue after realizing that the healthy food was enabling her to get healthier with time. The recipes are based on the ones she created herself and, once again, they're delish!

So, maybe this is too long a review, but knowing the people personally, and loving the place as much as I do, I couldn't help but rave on. If you're in doubt, google the place and see all the positive feedback they have from the local and national papers. I just want to get the word on citysearch as well!!! :)

Housed in a former 1920s cinema, this small restaurant whips up scrumptious dishes in a charming vintage setting. Though it remains open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, breakfast is the main draw here and is served until the…
