5 Stars: the best in L.A. (by mark b.)

I worked at Mario's in the 80's and I can vouch for the quality and selection of imported cheeses and groceries available.Homemade sausage is the BEST!!!.Be prepared to wait on weekends,as this place was packed 3 deep (30-50)people on Saturdays from open to close!!!There is also a big lunch crowd so call ahead to place your orders if you are in a hurry. This place is the real deal and I recommend marios to anyone who loves italian cusine!

5 Stars: Just the Best Italian Deli Around! (by Alicia C.)

When I first moved to CA, I was constantly on the lookout for REALLY great Italian food. And I don't mean just good, I mean great. The kind of great where you can't really think of anything better. That is how I came to learn about Mario's. The food is superb and the grocery store stocks a variety of Italian delicacies. Though I now live on the west side, if I am anywhere in the vicinity, I make sure to stop and get my favorite meatball sandwich. My family won't forgive me if I don't bring something back for them too.

There is not much ambiance as the deli is located in a grocery store, but the food is AMAZING. I feel contented with the first bite I take.

If you are lucky enough to live nearby, you are in an enviable position. If you don't live close, it is worth the extra effort to get there.

5 Stars: Pure Italian (by John F.)

Having been raised in Glendale, my experiences with Mario's go back over 30 years. It still looks the same as it always has and the food is second to none. The sandwiches are fresh and always great, and the Italian groceries are awesome. The place looks and smells the way an Italian deli should--like Italy. It's the best Italian market in the LA area.

PROS: The salami
CONS: There are none

5 Stars: (by Nate W.)

A great place for deli meats, fresh bread, and a more-than-creditable sandwich counter. The Pastrami Bad Boy: it must be eaten to be believed.
