Firestone Animal Hospital

i just want to say that i took my dog to dr. Rocha after my dog was attacked by another dog a couple of months ago and he was great. he did everything possible to treat my dog and you can tell that he is a master in what he does. i let him do everything that was needed to get my dog better. His wife and the receptionist are awsome... they explained to me everything and made me feel welcomed. i recomend you this hospital if you are willing to pay for the best care of your pet. Remember that RatingS can be missleading!!!! Every person is a different world... Go see it for your self. !!!

well let me say i went to Dr Rocha in July 08, and had a very bad experience with them they are so nonprofessional and they should be reported to the better business bureau all you guys who have took these peoples crap please report them they don't deserve running a business if they don't know how and that rude old lady should get out of that place she is going to make that place go out of business if she has an attitude then she needs to go home and stay their but it happens this place is just ridiculous like other customer have stated it seems that they buisness trys to go up but its falling down i dont think no one needs this type of services with them.go on line to bbb and get the number to them if you have a complain on them and show them that they are not all that and that their is laws who protect customers who go to a bad buisness like theirs.

this doctor is ridiculous and rates himself check all his bad comments or just visit his business why would people need to lie about a business its true they shouldn't even be in the city of Downey they are an embarrassment to other business in the city i took my cat to them they are just money hungry people not giving ? what your pet has they just see money signs in their eyes they should grow up they look like great great grandparents now and their attitude is bad look for yourself if we were liars we wouldn't even tell you to go see just take them a pet who is well and see what youll be amazed with they will probly say it has this or that my opinion they are just not worth it..

The staff is awesome...the location and service is better than at most human hospitals...and their prices are fair. Any reviewer that says otherwise is nuts. I suggest pet owners visit their hospital and website. I highly recommend Dr. Rocha.

This place is horrible. I had bad service from the time I entered. I only stayed because I was concerned for my dog and I could not get an appointment anywhere else that day.
They put me in a very dirty room (hair on the chairs, blood and hair on the floors. The older receptionist is very rude and the doctor has no people skills.
They will treat your dog and surprise you at the end with a huge bill. I totally regret going to this place. I had to call several times to get the blood test results. I finally got the doctor on the phone. He puts me on hold and transfers me to the receptionist that does not know anything and is very rude. Their helpers do not know what they are doing. Be careful!!

wouldn't even rate them with one star they are an embarrassment to others vets in the area, just wouldn't recommend them at all bad service with pets .

I wouldn't take any pet of mine to her ever again. he is so full of himself and cocky. he's dangerous because he says he knows much more than he really does. I had three really bad experience with him, one resulting in the death of my pet. You would have thought I would have learned the first few times, but he has a way about him . he talks the talk, but he sure can't walk the walk. Worst vet I have ever come across in my life. I tell everybody I talk to to stay away from her clinic and will continue to do so. The worst part is he's so cocky he doesn't care about what anyone thinks. To the woman who is in the front desk is so ridicoulous and rude, feels , get your money back, take her to court. Tell your story to the paper, I sure would. I have heard MANY horror stories about them firestone animal hospital is the worst place ever now that I talk to people about it. People need to know what kind of vet he is and just look for a better one who will provide great pet service and most important respect you as a customer..

I took their advice and called with some questions...they were very helpful. So I made an appointment for my cat Lex...he's had a soar throat since he last ate a bird...Dr. Rocha was awesome and their prices were more than fair for the service they provide.I highly recommend these guys!!

It seems like they're a family business who serves each client and their pet individually. They really treated us well, and Dr. Rocha was great. My dog was hit by a car and the Dr. reconstructed his jaw and his leg...now he's doing great. I highly recommend this hospital!

he has to write his own comments to put his buisness up he dont let others put it because all they talk about is bad stuff about him i took him to court today and when i stated their is no good comments on him he send a an email ,he verry upset i see,6/20/08 he sundenly has a good comment the same day we went to court oh and he fixed some dogs jaw how unethical can you be posting your own comments become a real dr and let customers do it for you .all i got to say is look at him verry well look at his past records back from 2002,2003,2004,2005,2006,2008 its funny...oh and he is not sueing me hello look at his record...

look first of all i know that he is a bad vet all you guys got to do is look him up his own ex employee states on him, also he mest really feel low of himself to rate his oen place today we went to court 6-20-08 and what a big coinsedence their is a good comment on his place now after comming out from court the one that is mad is him not me he had to send me a email @my email address to let me now how he feels he should be man enough and let people rate him not ratting himself as easy as this look at all bad comment on him from 2006.and make you own judment on all years all the good ones from 06/08 will be cause he done them,on one he states real ood about him than it says in the botoom response :from buisness how funny dident even notice that one..

i took my pet to this vet and he was treated bad and the dr was verry unresponsible, dident care about what it felt the pain or nothing be aware of this place.

plesase please please be aware of this hospital or vet, you dont want to go their they are bad and unprofessional i really cant explain how bad they are really...

It's funny how people think that if they pay more, they're automatically getting better service. We brought our dog in once. The building does look very clean and modern, so we were thinking we picked a good place. Well as soon as we walked in, the lady at the front desk just gave us an attitude. She seemed very annoyed that we didn't have an appointment. She said something like, "Well, we're about to close.. so hurry up then.." She seemed like they were doing us a huge favor, when we were the ones PAYING to have our dog checked out. Anyway, we got in to see the Doctor and he walks in the room and starts acting grouchy. He basically told us that our dog had Parvo, which completely freaked us out. He checked out our dog's stool, then told us she was fine.. It was really messed up how he scared us with the Parvo thing, then 2 minutes later is telling us she was fine. As if that wasn't enough.. He asked what kind of dog food she was eating, and shook his head and pretty much yelled at us. He asked whether we gave her treats... and again with the head shaking and scolding. He then just gave us some medicine, and said, "Okay, we're done." and left the room. He didn't tell us what was wrong, what the medicine was.. or anything else. He was VERY unprofessional, and extremely rude. So we go out to the front desk and the lady tells us we need to buy some "special" food for our dog, for the next couple days. We ended up buying the can of food, and everything else and it came out to a huge bill. I was shocked to see how much I was paying for someone to yell at me and tell me how to take care of my dog. The service was terrible here, and I would NEVER, EVER return to this place. I found another place nearby that isn't so modern and shiny, but has WAYYY better service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone at all.

I agree with the previous two postings. I wish I had read them before I went to this "hospital." I had gone to other places and received great service, but I just moved to this area.
First of all, they made us wait FOREVER. My dog was getting really nervous b/c she was on the examination table for too long! They are cold and impersonal and don't do anything to make your pets less scared.
Then when this so called "vet" came to the room, he didn't even greet us. He seemed like he didn't want to touch our dog. He then proceeded to scold us for not bringing our dog for a check up sooner and for giving her treats and b/c he disliked the brand of food we use (even though our previous vet told us this is the best--i agree it's expensive).
Basically, this vet is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and COLD-HEARTED.
I honestly felt discriminated against because I look so young (if he only knew my academic educational level is pretty close to his). He was like a cranky old relative yelling at me for the way i cared for my dog. Even though my dog is very healthy and has all shots up to date. Besides, I'm PAYING thus expect better service.
I also didn't like it that he started talking to us in Spanish right away just b/c we look Latino. He didn't care if we could understand or not.
I really wonder how in the world this place has stayed in business. I feel sorry for his employees.
Sigh...the things one puts up with just to make sure their pets are healthy and happy.

PROS: place looks clean and spacious
CONS: horrible service, cranky and unprofessional doctor, long wait, impersonal

Dr. Rocha and his wife have given me the worst service EVER!
They have made me go as far as to file a formal complaint with the State of California for withholding my dog's records.

I currently moved and misplaced my vaccination records. I need the records in order to spay my dog and "Mrs Rocha" will not cooperate with me. She claims to have no obligation to give me such records. We'll see what the State of California has to say about that.

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS!!!!

i have gone to most of the vets in my area over the past twenty five years and once i found dr. rocha have gone to no one else. he is one of the most careing and efficient vets around. like all vets he is not cheap but the best isnt always cheap and if you want the best care for your animals you cant do any better. thank you franklin
